  • Brilliant confirmation that I'm headed in the right direction. Thank you for stating that so simply. Off to the driving range now.

  • I am not very flexible and my teacher is gettiing me to consciously turn my hips to get behind the ball. I realize I may give up some torque but this does help get me to the inside of the ball. The problem is I feel I try to turm my hips too much at times and I feel like I get off balance and the bad things happen like losing the ball to the right as I never quite get back to the ball. Any tips here?

  • I am a senior golfer, and the hip turn becomes more difficult since I am not as flexible as when younger. So hip turn is even more important to focus on. It does not come naturally any more. I would appreciate more exercises, drills, patters, etc., that focus specifically on the hip turn. I really think that the movement of the hips is the one area most lacking for most amateurs. Thanks for the helpful video.

  • very good info, but why stop short of demonstrating a hip turn finish that I am interested in seeing. thanks.

  • great tip need more

  • @Vicmarvaldes

This is called early extension. Go to the TPI page and there are videos relating to this issue and how to address it.

  • I would really like to see the lower body sequence. I have many videos of my swing where I am actually on plane or above plane which I have worked hard to get while working at the Hank Haney Golf Academy. I get to the top and everything is positioned perfectly. I start my downswing sequence and my hips are virtually thrusting in towards the ball. I still want the feeling of leading to the target. How can I maintain the glutes behind the knees through the POI? Refer to Tiger Woods DTL Video

  • Hi Dave. Great explanation.I do a lot of martial arts training and this gives me great flexibility but i was finding that it was working against me. this is the info I needed

    Keep them coming. cheers

  • Could you please do sequenced body rotation through the golf Swing

  • Do you think the hips should go laterally at the start of the downswing before they actually turn or clear?

  • @ncrum1952 always

  • @ncrum1952 Depend on how you are swinging if you are a average player who is coming over the top I'd recommend the some latteral movement but if you are a pretty good golfer you don't want so much latteral hip movement you wan't to rotate your hips if you have to much latteral hipmovement and your hips turn really fast the arms wont keep up which means that the arms and the club will be to much behind you.

  • Hi. Good video. Really like it how you give the option of working around a problem rather than saying you have to go in the gym.

What is your feeling on how much the hips should tilt during the swing ie top of backswing and at impact (either in inches or degrees). I have been using a k-vest and am particularly interested in this for someone who is a one plane swing.

  • @craigb130485 The hips don't tilt they turn I would say that the hips should be atleast 50-70 degrees open at impact.
