Sadly, all of the wonderful animatronics that were once used have been replaced by terrible CGI. Oh,how I hate CGI, it look so cheesy and unrealistic. Bring back the stuntmen, the real explosions, the puppets and animatronic puppeteers and while you're at it, bring back set miniatures/models!

Yoshi was so adorable in this movie! Yes, that puppet looks nothing like the Yoshi we know and love, but come on! It's a baby T-Rex. I want to snuggle it at the risk of it eating my face.

It seem's people can't except the fact that the movie was a LIVE-ACTION adaption to the actual series, not everything's gonna be the same in game since it's suppose to be presented in the question,"What if Mario universe was real?" and so, the movie showed us the realistic Mario. The cartoon counter part is gonna look different, duh duh.

@hyenateethx They could have given him his 4 fingers, Yoshi is not a T-rex. They like MIyamoto has expressed is his own breed of creature with Gallimus, Deinonychus, Dog, Horse, and Dragon. That is what inspired him, he loved Dinosaurs since a child, he loves riding horses, and loves dragons.. c'mon He is a mixture of things.

Yoshi's full name translated into English is Super Happy Dragon Yoshi. Also if you beat all the levels with all exits in Super Mario World. Then dump Yoshi off somewhere and visit his house the message box comes up with... Hello! Sorry I'm not home. I've gone to play with my friends. I hope to see you again! - Super Dragon Yoshi. So the Yoshi is a dinosaur people have to explain both. :P

I actually think the Yoshi from the movie was pretty decent. It's what Yoshi would look like in real life, as a real dinosaur. Plus, the animatronics are really good. Too bad they blew a whole load of their budget on him instead of making the Tyrannosaurus head at the end of the movie look real instead of being a stupid ass muppet!!!

To all the idiots who say that Yoshi isn't a Dino, play Super Mario World witch is Yoshi's first appearance ever. His body structure is exactly the same as his movie counterpart, except that he's green has a big nose, a shell/saddle, and little spikes on his tail and he's thinner and more T-rex like. Unlike now that he's short and has stubby arms and legs. Oh and you find him in DINOSAUR LAND

@colliric No he is not, he is a mixture of m any things Miyamoto loves, read his information for Yoshi. Yoshi is a Yoshi, not a raptor, not a t-rex with two fingers. He is a YOSHI, made up specie inspired by Horses, Deinonychus, Dog, Gallimus, and Dragons, Chameleon.

@rootbeer543 Again he is not simply a Dinosaur. Mario Galaxy, he says he is a Space DRAGON, the special coins in Super Mario World are called DRAGON coins with a Yoshi picture. There is such thing as a Dragon Dinosaur, who lived with DInosaurs. Yoshi's were not naturally inhabitants of Dinosaur Island, they come from Yoshi's Island which is far from there. I do my research, it is possible it's a dragon. A tiny lil draco.

Anyways in the film the saddle and the 3 spikes he has, could have been put there and his hands, could have been given 3 fingers and a thumb, i hate the design of the body good face. Yoshi is a Yoshi, MIyamoto said it is his own breed, Dragon, Dino, Dog, Horse, etc. in the end Yoshi is the greatest Mario good character.

@squallthegriever Agreed. Video games can inspire lots of good careers. I want to work for Nintendo one day. It would be fun contributing ideas and such to my favorite childhood games. And yes, Yoshi is a great character. Nintendo has created lots of good game characters over the years. They should make a new character to start a franchise for. Its been a while. I don't mean give up their current franchises. I just mean add a new one.

@Sac077 Not fully true, as he Miyamoto has stated he is a Dragon/Dinosaur of his own specie, who lives with Dinosaurs. Yoshi's earlier sketches were in Super Mario Bro in the NES but due to tec difficulties Yoshi could not be put in, Yoshi is Miyamoto's favorite character in the Mario series. Yoshi is his own specie, and in Yoshi's Island is where they live, and at the time that game was out as well. This is a T-rex, not a fucken Yoshi. They could have given a bit more accurate properties.

@Sac077 Magazines make simple mistakes, they call characters a diff name or get the story a bit off. So that is not such a good pointed source. Ok, so the special coins with Yoshi's face are called Dragon Coins... Yoshi calls him self Space DRAGON and in super mario world he says super happy dragon yoshi. when you complete 96 percent or higher in his house.. c'mon. Miyamoto never called him a Dinosaur, and he is not native to Dinosaur Island, search the Yoshi profile by Miyamoto buddy.
