  • RON PAUL IS A GLOBALIST, ONCE THEY ERADICATE THE FED, THE UN WILL TAKE OVER, IT'S ALL SETUP FOR THE ANTICHRIST. RP IS A HIGH FREEMASON, Rosicrucianism is a philosophical secret society. RP DOESN'T BELIEVE 911 WAS AN INSIDE JOB. RP VOTED ONE YEAT TO LATE TO STOP THE IRAQ WAR.

  • He who lives in glass house should not throw stones.

  • In the grand scheme of things, it's not the worst thing he could have done, but it is still very disappointing to see a man compromise, when his most endearing quality is his refusal to compromise. I suspect there's more to this and I would not be surprised to find that the GOP was holding something really nasty over his head.

  • I understand why Paul said that though. It is a little different when it is people in your own state but at the end of the day I think Paul knows that his supporters are smart enough that soon as they Smith's voting record (as described in the video description) they will support the incoming candidate.

  • Was the original letter sent to Republicans that also happen to be C4L members, or was it sent out through C4L directed at C4L members? Is the original letter posted anywhere?

  • My God, he's a politician! What a joke. This looks like a blatant smear campaign by the so called "libertylover." What, are you going to comment on his looks next (oh yeah, you just did below).

  • at least he's honest

  • Ron Paul pretty much explained his actions, and as a responsible voter, it is up to me to research the candidates and make my decision...so thank you John Bush for asking the question that many Texan voters may have had, but also, thank you Ron Paul for once again telling it like it is..I don't think it was backpedalling and I don't think you should be suspicious of his motives anymore. It's POLITICS, explained clearly, so now you know what to do...

  • this 1 min video is the best smearing you can come up with? this is simply showing Ron Paul's inclusion in TX Republican unity, Neo Con or otherwise.

How many times did George W Bush support Dr Paul's opposition to his House seat? EVERYTIME.

Who coined the idea in 2008 that Ron Paul was "crazy"? Jeb Bush's media guy.

    Perptuate society, not government.

  • This is how the system works unfortunately. Every capable person in the liberty movement needs to run in elections. Once we have large numbers, we can start to change it.

  • Did Lamar Smith support HR 1207?

And I don't know the rules of the games these politicians must play within the party system... but I bet Dr Paul has pushed those rules to the limit and this particular issue does not change my opinion of him one bit. . .

  • @SilverWealth23

thats why we're fucked. people like you.

politics is politics, even if retards call you a doctor.

  • wow...I'm Ron Paul supporter since 2007...What the hell is going on RP...

  • It appears that Campaign For Liberty spent $350,000 on a media buy for a Colorado Neo-Con candidate named Ken Buck, who is endorsed by Michelle Malkin and supports the wars in the Middle East.

wtf is going on??? many of us are awaiting a reply from Campaign For Liberty explaining wtf they are doing. i've been a Ron Paul supporter since 2007 when i first heard about him. i hope to God we are not getting dicked over by somebody i look up to so much....Ron, you have a lot of explaining to do!

  • I am not understanding the problem people are having with this. HE EXPLAINED WHY. lol. The fact that anyone expects him to be running under the Republican banner and NOT have to give somewhere is ridiculous and unrealistic.

    Come on guys....please. lol

  • wow they tried to push you comment as spam ha ha thats jokes

  • Guys, this would be a big deal if it wasn't transparent and upfront. He was asked what's up with this. He said flat out that he has to do this becuase of his agreement he signed with the Republican party. No attempt to hide it. No worries. Now if he gets caught sneaking around doing back-room deals...that would actually be a story.

  • This is not that big of a deal folks!

  • Even Metallica sold out when they made their first MTV video....everyone sells out eventually to the cause of survival. RP is doing what he can in this volatile political arena to keep pushing for liberty. He is very much alone and if he wishes to stay in, he will have to make concessions.

  • He is not selling out though, having token support for Texas Candidates BECAUSE of their support for his push on the Fed/health care and because he has not choice, is not a sellout.

  • Textbook Denial Rusty . . .

I like to fix my mistakes (the sooner the better), take responsibility, but then maybe you prefer to sweep 'em under the rug. Supporting Neo-Cons is wrong, period. This is below Paul and you know it. Being a blind follower doesn't cut it for me, but then maybe you are just a GOP loyalist. I could give a rat's ass about party. That's a huge part of the problem that a Paul supporter ought to know. Stay in denial if that works for you.

  • No, I have been seeing what you have been doing. No textbook denial here.

  • Politics is the devils playground, you have to dance with the devil from time to time, in order to get your agenda to be followed through. The way I see it, in Ron Paul's mind, he probably figures that to a small injustice like this will not last forever, we are the new movement, the new wave, and we will breakdown the Status-Quo that Mr. Smith represents.

  • The tea party movement was HIJACKED a year ago by the GOP & other agents of the status quo.

And now, sadly, even Ron Paul has sold out.

Don't kid yourselves (independents, libertarians, liberals, progressives), as much as we are all EXTREMELY disappointed with those in power, any movement hijacked by a "party" = going BACKWARDS.

ANY movement that gets taken over by any party (Dem, Rep, ANY party) is NOT going to lead to any worthwhile change.

Power to the PEOPLE, not party.

  • LMAO...whatever RUNPaulGeorgeRingo

  • Oh..this is not good. Were they going to kick him out of the party?

  • Sad that Ron Paul is supporting candidates like Lamar Smith who voted for the bailouts, supports the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act and does not work to restore out Constitutional Republic. Not a liberty-minded person in my book. Ron Paul is sacrificing his integrity and my vote because he,"..Made a deal with the Republican Party to support ALL Republican incumbents..." despite what they stand for.

Apparently, saving the Republican Party is more important than saving our Constitution.

  • I agree with you MobileYogi. Some people in the C4L have criticized me speaking against Ron Paul's action. It saddens me that people blindly follow politicians.

  • exactly who did he make the agreement with???

  • That's a good question, had he not been so flustered and in a rush I could have asked a follow up question. He's getting old, he looked pretty worn out. I salute him for doing so much at such an old age. I am going to try to get an interview with him on my radio show. Give him the chance to respond and fill us in a lil more.

  • So Ron made an agreement to support someone whom beliefs he does not agree..this does not seem right..

I am sure he must hate that he made that agreement..and why would he!

  • Support = Sell out. Way to go C4L!

  • Ron Paul would get booted out of the Republican party if he made it clear that his intentions were to boot out the Republican incumbents.

It makes sense to at least keep the pretense that Ron Paul is "helping" the party.

Otherwise members of his own party would not work with him and he'd eventually get forced out.

  • That's an unprincipled stance.

  • Would you rather he have to go independent then disappear like all other independents?

  • His stance is hypocritical. He previously refused to support neo-cons' campaigns (e.g. Bush and McCain) and now he is???

  • I understand the fact that they probably said they would kick him out of the party if he spoke out against them. He would be very affective too, and if they do that its over period (revolution and everything else). He also didn't officially endorse him if you go to the website of the patriot challenger, he understands and so should you.

I also know that there are certain people who want to cause a rift between his supporters.

  • newbs.

  • I think people are having knee jerk reactions, and that if Paul backs out of prior agreements it is just more for the attack dogs.

  • I think Ron Paul needs someone like Jesse Ventura to remind him the lesser of two evils, are still evil.

  • the neocons aren't even the lesser of the two evils they're the greater

  • I agree, I won't vote for evil, I vote no confidence.

  • Statesmanship, like Faith, can get very distorted once it becomes Institutionalised.

Our political parties, like religions, have become beurocractic dinosaurs, doing ill at every turn, but using goodness to justify their support and existance.

The grassroots freedom movement MUST be able to vote for candidates as individuals, based on personal integrity, not some party membership. Just as a Living Soul has rightful standing determined by his own GoodFaith, and not by a group affiliation.

  • So he asked recipients of the email "to consider supporting"...Those willing to contribute or are able to vote in the election, after doing their own independent research, evaluating and "considering" both candidates, will pick the better man. Sounds like Dr. Paul is encouraging people to think for themselves, educate themselves, and make the right choices. As always, consistent with his message.

  • I agree - Ron Paul is still sending the message to think for yourselves!

  • Only God is perfect.

One should inform oneself as best one can, & always vote for the best candidate.

Remember a wasted vote is a vote for any candidate other than that who best represents your views.

Obviously some will be misled by the RP endorsement & possibly vote for the wrong candidate. However I think both the film-maker and the politician enhanced themselves through this video. Mind you, I haven't seen the text of the letter.

    Well Done!

  • Nice job

  • I thought this was a good response. I wouldn't be surprised if the GOP tried to boot Paul for being so pro-liberty, I would guess this is his token to them in exchange for the freedom to vote his conscience the other 99 percent of the time. Plus is there even anyone besides a Democrat running for Smith's seat?

  • @libertylover512

Even the good congressman has chinks in his armor when it comes to playing politics. It's the nature of the beast I guess. None the less, I think you did a good job in questioning Ron Paul on this and his motives. If history must one day dig up the long list of dirt to condemn this man, I'm glad the list contains having to endorse incumbents to keep his position in finance; His trust in his staff members to show responsibility even when one of them

    (continue below)

  • becomes racially motivated; And chocolate chip cookies.

I myself will continue to support Congressman Paul until I no longer have breath in my lungs. Only the principals of liberty and responsibility will save this failing nation.

  • I consider the makers of this video the Michael Moores of the Liberty Movement. With very little understanding of the dynamics involved they have used ambush journalism to create diversion from the greater problems we are fighting

  • It's a shame this happens. Proof the system is broken, when somebody like Paul feels he has to support people he doesn't want to. Very good video by the author; I applaud your concern and effort to address the concern.

  • Keep up the good work.

  • Damn, that's too bad. But atleast RP's transparent about it. He didn't lie or cover up or anything. He said it like it is. He's caught in a tight corner.

This doesn't change my view of RP whatsoever.

  • Well, at least he's honest about it being phony support. =/

  • This upsets all you so called Ron Paul supporters? lol

Can't you see the party is hoping for your exact response so they can break his popularity with We The People?

Dr. Paul has always said vote the way you want to vote and not the way somebody else wants you to vote. He has always wanted us to be independently minded.

His position on Financial Services Committee is way too important to jeopardize.

  • Ron Paul is a senior member of the house financial services committee if he endorses anyone other than the incumbent he could lose his seat on that committee that he has worked for to obtain his tenure! Is this what all of you complaining want?

  • John... amazing. Great work.

  • one battle at a time folks.

  • good job John and Catherine!

  • He woke a lot of us up, but the fact is, he compromises at all the wrong points.

He wouldn't vote for his own Audit the Fed bill, because it would change his reputation. However, he endorses Lamar Smith over someone who worked with his campaign for so long, and has a chance of winning the election.

Ron Paul is a politician. Remember that. Ron Paul is a politician.

  • To anyone who disagrees with what I wrote a second ago, I would caution you to avoid being caught up in politics. Political nonsense is a distraction from the real issues of substance. Education will undermine the state's power, not politicians.

  • I'm with tsavage, but I take it further. I think it's a good decision. As a voluntaryist, I doubt that we will ever succeed in using the political system to undermine the power of the political system. In the end, what really matters is educating people about liberty, and no one does that as well as Dr. Paul right now. He HAS to stay in congress, and if supporting a candidate whose vote is nearly meaningless and who would likely win anyway will safeguard Dr. Paul's seat, then he needs to do it.

  • I credit Ron Paul for helping me (start to) see the truth. I went from completely ignorant to libertarian to voluntaryist/agorist. Guess that's why the sticker on my laptop went from "Ron Paul was Right" to "Ron Paul was Right?". This shows how even an good man has to play the system's games to just participate in this inherently immoral and corrupt system. I support NO GOVERNMENT.

  • I wouldn't read too much into this. Shocking, yes. But to stay afloat right now, he needs to do some things that aren't ideal. It's the same as him running as a Republican when he very well is not. As long has he doesn't start voting for bailouts, ect.. he still has my support.

  • lol he basically said I don't give a shit about the guy without saying "I don't give a shit about the guy" LOL
