The United States Army states that enlisted soldiers facing stop-loss can now voluntarily separate by request, under provision 3-12, but only after they complete an involuntary deployment of twelve to fifteen months and 90 days stabilization time (time allowed to "out-process" from the military) can they apply.
Hmmm...assuming you have as much knowledge of the military as you have demonstrated, you ought to know then that they key word there is REQUEST. A member can request alot of things (humanatarian assignment, re-training, special duty assignment) but in the end, the military will make the decision that is best for THEM.(in this case, more combat-ready soldiers for multiple deployments) After all, once the contract is signed, the government is the one holding all the legal cards.
so brave! I wish I had been there!
