  • After watching this video, i made a cofe table of my guitar.

  • holy shit

  • DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!!!! YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!!!! lolz

  • those frets... i bet thatd take some getting used to

  • hey dude can u give us tabs for cardiology please i love that song thanks

  • nice i taked 3 hours to learn this song thanks for the tabs

  • I bet he is related to Chuck Norris.

  • OK, GOT THE TABS, NOW WHAT?

  • @highrollerzzz lol!!!

  • @highrollerzzz now pain, lots of pain :P

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • this is sick. what a talent

  • ma che gli prende alla mano a 0.28???

  • hahhaa why make that gay hand!?!?!? hahhaa total virtuoso!

  • i want more "cardiology" type songs, experimental ones,

i dont dislike jazz fusion like many of his songs but his experimental side is the one who blows my head off.

he is like another govan,or stanley jordan

  • too many Vai here!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved it!!!!!!! Whoever says this has no feel... well... doesn't have any feeling himself!

  • Great !!!

  • I soooo DO NOT want to learn this! Geez... that must be some transcription....

  • this music is so boring...

  • @fbvilela Perhaps he should start doing 3rd rate SRV covers instead? :)

  • @YngtchieMusic yes!! come on... I'm not talking about my or his skills. I know this guy is awesome and he probably got some real interesting songs... I'm just saying this one is boring... feels like hearing the same thing over and over. It's got only good technique. this sounds like a speed exercise and not a song. but it's just my opinion, anyway

  • @fbvilela That's cool. I agree that it's not exactly a tremendous composition, but it showcases his playing, which was most likely the whole idea. He does have some more interesting tunes, like "Cardiology".

  • yeah ... hairtie is needed to make it clean...

    agree with Vibrato1989

  • Can you say virtuosity? The thing that really gets me is that the great ones always make it look so easy too. Well I guess I'll have to add another to the favorites list.

  • speechless. this makes me wanna quit playing guitar, haha yeah right

  • Gottardo is freakin amazing man!!!!!! Cant believe this is free!!!!

  • lol yea this guy is sick.. techincally he's fucking AWESOME!

  • Haha, that look at the end is priceless, "Yeah, now you try."

  • hahaha that was fun!

  • super awesome!

  • I just quit guitar, Right now as I saw this video.

  • I'm so totally learning this! :)

  • @radiogalaxy good luck xD

  • Play without the hair band.

  • @ExtremeBogom Why?

  • @YngtchieMusic

As far as a I remember Guitars never came with hairbands.

  • @ExtremeBogom Tell that to Guthrie Govan. :p

No, seriously, go make that same comment for one of Guthrie's videos, see how clever that makes you look.

  • @YngtchieMusic

Actually I already did, and got the expected responce.

    "Guthrie rarely uses the hairband".

And that's true. He only sometimes uses it. He's already proved to me, he don't need it.

However, it still doesn't answer the question.

"Why do people use hairbands when playing guitar?"

    Because it makes shredding easy?

    Nooo, surely not?...

    It's fairly obvious.

  • @ExtremeBogom Good thing master players like yourself are giving lazy players like Gottardo good advice.

  • @YngtchieMusic

    continued

People just can'y be bothered to practise hard anymore.

They want a quicker route to the desired result. No effort required.

    Like a microwave.

  • @ExtremeBogom I don't see what the downside is to using a hairband. If it sounds good, what's the problem?

  • @pettrucciisgod Indeed. Of course, if one's main priority is always doing things the hard way to somehow prove a point, a hairband won't do.

What's next, complaining about guitarists having too low action, or too much compression? It all makes it "easier to shred", so you can't have any of that. ;)

  • @YngtchieMusic

I use methylated spirits on my hands to harden them.

    I guess I cheat too!

Actually the truth is, I never liked this complete tapping style of playing.

  • @ExtremeBogom It's a taste thing. I wouldn't like to hear it ALL the time, and fortunately Gottardo is quite proficient with the pick as well.

The thing I can't understand is why so many people are giving Gottardo's videos negative ratings and comments. I'm not referring to you, but it's something that's been going on for at least a year. I have no idea why, as I consider him to be a very talented young musician.

  • @YngtchieMusic

Well, noone likes to see the new kid on the block get all the attention.

    Simple as that I think.

lol I know this trust me...

  • @ExtremeBogom I think it's more than that. Look at the Funk Fusion 1 video, the comments with the most ratings are laughably negative. That screamingsymphony guy is just some cheesy bar band wanker, and he has the nerve to put down Gottardo by telling him to stop listening to Petrucci and Malmsteen, as if he sounds ANYTHING like either of those two.

YouTube is a sanctuary for ignorant minds.

  • @YngtchieMusic

Yes, that doesn't make sense to me either. Daniele sounds more akin to Holdsworth (can I say that?), than Petrucci and Malmsteen.

  • @pettrucciisgod

No problem, I would just like to see him do this without the hairband.

  • @ExtremeBogom

You're a fucking idiot dude. You comment the same thing on Guthrie's videos too. Have you any fucking clue that THIS level f 8 finger tapping NEEDS a hairtie. It's technically impossible to play without it. You think it's easy with the hairtie huh? Show me your video playing it? Or anyone else's for that fucking matter.

    Ignorant freak

  • @Vibrato1989

Learn some punctuation then come back to me.

I already stated since day one, I do not like this style of playing.

What is your problem with that?

Some people prefer to pick the notes...

You have obviously not read all my comments. I suggest reading back over.

  • @ExtremeBogom LOL what's wrong with you? My punctuation is just perfect. And I don't have a problem at all with you not liking this style of playing. My point was the "hairtie" so read again.

  • @Vibrato1989

I think YOU should read MY reply back again, I knew what you were talking about.

Pointing out the obvious isn't needed.

The original point was that using a hairband to shred without noise, mistakes, or effort is a just an insult to the guitar community.

What next? Will people eliminate the strings and just play with buttons?

    It's a shambles.

Now before you ask me what my problem is, I suggest reading over this post.

Feel free to continue that untill information has absorbed.

  • @Vibrato1989 ll give you'll two, T.J Helmerich or even michael angelo(not a fan myself but credit where its due). both can play eight finger tapping WITHOUT hairties or nut mounted dampeners .

  • @dagoelius Nitpicking, but Michael Angelo Batio doesn't really do the 8-finger tapping thing, it's mostly just one finger on the right hand. He does use a string dampener when playing his double guitar, it's even attached to the headstock on the guitar, simply to remove any extraneous string noise.

Helmerich does it without any damping, which is incredible, but I must say that I don't really see why it's so important that everyone must tap without hairbands or other damping devices.

  • @YngtchieMusic Check out Michael back in Night ranger days he definately can do 8 finger tapping(over the neck too). I guess im old school in that its a skill every guitarist should learn 2 be able 2 do-mute & tap effectively.

My problem is younger players will look & see this being used & will not take the time to learn the skill of palm muting. If you can find clips of Stanley Jordan. back in the day do so, his tapping was so clean, quick and always played tastefully never overdone.

  • @dagoelius About Michael Angelo, you sure you're not referring to Jeff Watson? He was in Night Ranger and did the whole 8-finger tapping thing. In fact, he was one of the first to do scalar 8-finger tapping on record, unlike the more chordal approach of Stanley Jordan and Adam Fulara.

Speaking of Stanley Jordan, he did use dampeners, and he also used a clean tone for most of his playing. It's more difficult to tap with multiple fingers using a distorted tone, thus the hairband.

  • @YngtchieMusic more difficult to tap like that with distortion? very bold statement, considering the significant amount of force you have to tap with while using a clean tone. tapping with distortion and muting isnt nearly as hard, imo.

  • @dagoelius

You're so wrong there. Forget angelo he's not even in the league. As for Helmerich he does 8 finger tap but NOT at Guthrie's level. If you hear Sevens you'd know what I'm talking about. I never said 8 finger tapping needs a hairtie, I said THIS level of 8 finger tapping needs one. You can surely 8 finger tap without a hairtie but what Guthrie does it at the extreme level and that does need one.

  • @Vibrato1989 There isn't any 8 finger tapping in "Sevens" It's two fingers on each hand, and it's a sequence of fifths. Great tune.

I personally think Helmerich is the best there is at that sort of playing.

  • @ExtremeBogom The last one I bought didn't come with a pick or a capo, either.

  • @sfocata

    yeah

  • Shit.

  • good for the eyes

  • Awesome as always.

  • is the video broken for anyone else?

  • @vheadfacelegs Me too.

  • @vheadfacelegs me too

  • @vheadfacelegs yes me to

  • @vheadfacelegs Seems to be!

  • che buffone!!! :-)

    Grandissimo Daniele!

  • awesome!

  • great playin' gottyboy!

  • Pretty good man! Dang!

  • Absolutely insane. 8 finger tapping on what looks like a scalloped fretboard? Fuck that... Also, haters are just jealous they cant tap with 8 fingers.

  • oh shit!

  • HOLY FUCK

  • Another face-melting video from gottboy! I am going to say this before the haters come, please don't judge a guitar player based on one video. I bet you that somebody's gonna bash him for his technique again and call him another machine. Listen to Guitar Sbrego and Ziprexalake to know that this guy packs more feel in every note than the typical bluesy player who's like "zomg play slow cause that's how we measure feel lol". Better yet, just get his album.

  • @PaoloCastilloMusic Don't forget to mention that this is what makes this guy unique. No one else sounds like this guy. Very impressive

  • Nice :)

  • whoawhoa

  • whoa
