Only difference between the SNES and this graphics wise is the backrounds. I really don't see any difference otherwise. And the sound is way better on the Genesis. This holds true for Earthworm Jim 2 as well.

yes

the genesis has worse graphics

and technically worse sound

(though plenty of people and me prefer it rather than the snes one)

the genesis one though has an extra level, and jim will say more things

for example in the genesis and snes when jim get more ammo, in both versions jim will say "yippe!"

but when he gets a plasma gun, in the snes he'll say yippe" again rather than in the genesis he'll say "plasma!"

I agree with polio, SNES was better for Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 than for Genesis in everyway possible. Graphics, Controls, Music, and Sound quality. Genesis atleast has more things for Jim to say and an extra level I think, but I'd recommend playing the SNES version. I have a Genesis, but back then I've probably be disappointed if I got it for that system. But ppl love EWJ2 for PS1, Sega Saturn, PC, GBA, SNES, Sega Megadrive and for Genesis so I guess it's opinion wise too I suppose...
