Hey Uncle Frank, Awesome song. Sittin here in Iraq in the trenches. Its cold and raining out here, and so ready to come home. Will be looking for the CD when I come home. Keep it up. See you soon I hope.
Great to see so much interest in Wildwood. I was keyboard player and co-wrote all the songs. A double CD collection will be released this year on Joey D's Frantic Records, and will include the 45 releases and many unreleased tracks. It will also include the 1967 single by The Mal-T's, the band that became Wildwood in 1968.
Hey Danny. A wildwood cd is going to be released in Feb/2010 I believe with 12 to 15 tunes on it. Some really awesome stuff. The 45 is a collectors item and hard to find. I wrote it and only have 2 copies. Thank you.
@CronicGuitars Yes, John Turner. He would play his Gibson SG, though his twin reverb. You could see how much he loved it. My brother and I were fans of your father. I grew up in Stockton and saw him play many times. A few times at band practice. We bought this record. I want the CD when it comes out.
Thanks for listening to Plastic People. I wrote and recorded this tune in 1968 at the old Fantasy Records in San Francisco.
Before I learned how to sing without rippin my throat apart. I was 19 yrs old. The Band Widwood was San Joquin countys first rock band to play Bill Grahams Filmore West in SF. You can hear my current material at CD BABY,COM
The engineer was an old hippy named Max Weiss, Who still owns 10% of Creedence Clearwater. At the time they were called the Golliwogs. I sang and wrote Plastic People. Believe it or not it was pretty hip for 68.

Hey, Frank, thanks for turnin' me on to "Plastic People"--I dig all your stuff, dude. You are one, creative, super-talented musician who deserves to
be able to lay out what you got to
the masses. Not to mention the fact
you got the scars and the mileage to
actually know what you're tunin' about.
You are fantastic, but dude, you ain't plastic.
Props, bro.

Oh, really? How nice! Is it so rare that no one want to sell it? It would be an amazing addition to my little collection! Thanks for the answer!

The great Mark Ross was the key boardest for WildWood. Mark is a two time Grammy award winning artist now living in Southern California.

Dimagg1973 2 years ago 2
This is very influential.
Did Ian Gillan adopted this type of singing?
