lol personally id make like 3 with flat front snow, and one with small circle nonflat snow, so you can walk over it and its "there" but not in your way because of too many :D (with still a good looking snow fall)

make three of those on a suspended trolley with a 'brain' and have it out of shot following the player... looks really good and saves on memory if you want snow falling on the whole level.. also have the emitted snow as a front flat piece so that it falls in the foreground without having to get in anyones way :) will post a video at some point

Attach the emitter to a block, and the block to REALLY fast piston :P

put multiple emitters and have them all emit at like .3 .4 .5 .6 and all that so they come out randomly and it looks real, thats what I did to make it look like stars falling, its awesome!!!

Simple enough, a small white blob made out of polystyrene which is then emitted from an emitter attached to a fast moving motorised wooden circle.
