Amazing that New York Central didn't have any 6 axle 2nd generation EMD's or GE's, good for heavy loads and mountains....so they only used 4 axle locomotives on this line right up until the merger with PRR.
ah reminds me of the days of Q302 with a few 6 axle units up front, and the last unit, an MP15AC, working it's guts out on it's way to south charleston with a long train in tow. how i miss the 90's.
Nothing like filming a train, and being filmed by the train crew in return. Interesting lash up of a mix of C30-7As, an SD40-2, an SD50 and a SW1000 to boot!
It is not unusual to see a switcher in the consist, saw it all the time during the '80's in Cleveland. However, it is unusual to see it in a power consist on a TV train.
No I think they are just taking pictures, the engineer is still out of the window after he passes (you). Heck it's winter time, I love to take pictures of everything in winter time lol. What on earth is that switcher doing between power.

In the UK, we don't transfer switchers under power - they are usually 'dead-in-tow'. Nice!
