  • I believe that scholars argue that the story of Bodhidharma bringing martial arts to China is just a legend. Martial arts actually already existed in China and were likely developed by the Chinese military.

  • devastating lock, thanks for posting

  • can someone please help me? i tried to make this move on my brother but he just moved his neck out of the grip.. would like some explaining how lock his neck right :)

  • @99cmhmarc : Hello! If you notice from 0:17 onwards, the attacker's neck is lodged squarely on the forearm, a few inches away from the elbow. In the clip, the attacker is not actually resisting because it's just a demo, but for a moving/resisting opponent, you have to give him a strike/slap before attempting the move and when you have him in the lock, make sure the neck is resting squarely on the forearm, then pull your hand (holding his arm) towards you while "pushing" your elbow outwards. :)

  • @99cmhmarc

This technique is intended for breaking the neck with a quick, snappy motion, not for immobilizing or forcing a submission.

  • @99cmhmarc You need to firmy push your elbow into his nape by pushing from his arm. You just have to give him pain dude. Yup, give him pain. Go on. Give him pain. That's the key to any lock. No pain = Slide away. Baliog pomali is designed to cause more pain if you will try to move slide away from it.

  • shaolin is home to all eastern martial arts.the chinese were the first to systemize their martial rts. the indians didn`t.

  • Everyone search "kalikalihan" in google, and choose the hit from "ezboard" or "martialtalk". that's a debate between Leo Gaje & an anthropologist about kali

  • PKT is 1/2 from Lanka Empat Pencak Silat. Leo got it from Pendekar 'Eddie' Jaffri. Dekiti Tirsia Siradis is much closer to the original Philippine system that Leo calls his 'Family' system. And, that's the fact jack.

  • You're a funny guy Jason.

  • Thanks. I'll be here all day:O

So 2 guys walk into a bar, the 3rd one ducked.

  • That's correct!

  • Yes I know .

Inosanto usually says: Kali is Silat........

i just wanted to say Leo show a lot of Silat , but he says it' s from his family system , "a true ( maybe ) indigenous style.

  • You can ask any Silat practitioner and he will say that's as different as day from night.

  • uhm silat is from indonesia or malaysia..the geography suggest that pilipinas indonesia and malaysia was once connected so...could be the same...

  • philippines was once under by the Majapahit Kingdom.only the south region. so all filipino , malaysian and indonesian martial arts are the same.... once it reach to the visayan region it evolves to Kali....

  • It s Silat not Arnis.

Filipinos artist don' t make these kind of things.

  • dont you know that Kali came from Silat??.. Kali is still Silat art.. but added more technique

  • did u know all martial arts came from kalarippayattu?

  • that is true but .. some suggest martial arts came from Egypt .. travel to Greece and India.. finally in china..

  • @plus24seven

    From Egypt? Source please.

  • @aikidokasan2000 Filipino

  • @gabbomushy did you know that you're mistaken?

  • @gabbomushy The legends are sketchy. Many say that Bodhidharma/Da Mo (who was from Southern India and by most accounts was indeed a kalari master) didn't actually teach Shaolin monks fighting techniques, but exercizes and meditation to improve what he saw as their poor physical condition. Others say he stared at a wall for 9 years then left, leaving literature behind, which many doubt was even written by him. The debate continues today.
