This wasn't much of a hostage situation when you consider that once you become an invader there's no way in saving you and the only reason they were "alive" was to weaken the getter team. Even the doctor who was with Benkei in that episode says so but only Ryoma knew so he isn't exactly heartless when you know he made the right choice to kill them and save the getter team and everyone else. Besides he goes psycho when he's provoked and that whole series just wanted to push his buttons.

Black Getter is piloted by Ryoma. Long story short, at one point in Shin Getter Robo, he gets stuck on the Moon and finds a wrecked Getter. Using the Getter and some spare parts, he repaired it into a machine that can manifest a Getter's full power with only one pilot.

It's black because all the red paint was burned to black on re-entry.

Ryoma made the Black Getter Robot in the old base on the moon , he used the first getter robot already broken and rebuild .Like Ncrosser said , the B.G.R cant transforme and only have 1 cockpit so ryoma can use the full potencial of the getter robot by himself. How Ryoma get to the moon... you need to watch the serie for the answer :P.

I own this series on DVD and i must say it was really worth the money. I still can't beleive it takes 3 people to pilot one robot though. Ryoma is the wildest out of the 3 pilots though, plus he just has that badass image working for him. The one thing i hated about this series, was the fact that after all the fighting the getter team did, they still died in the end. What a waste. Ticks me off a little.

Than Black Getter showed up and bassiclly new those people were unsavable and proceeded to tear ass.
