Why is it stupid? Sir Salmon Rushdie, an excellent British writer, was recently knighted by the British and yet this caused uproar amongst the Muslim community here in Britain. Why? What's it got to do with them? The British can give awards to whoever they please. We don't have to ask permission off any other nation or group. That's the original point I was making. the ignorance in your statement lies in your assumption that ALL muslims were offended by the award, which they patently were not. i think he's a fabulous writer, and deserves the award. are you not offended when ignorant British/white people do embarassing things? Do I associate you with their crimes? no. we are all accountable as individuals, not races/religions. and it's spelt 'Salman'; he is not a fish.
Well DF, it was either the 'inappropriate' dialogue suggested between an adult and a four year old or the fact that John Smith's tastes like strong piss and should not be encouraged :-).
