  • We all know Vivian isn't Steve, but OMFG,the man was awesome on this intro!! He plays very differently, far more disciplined, but this was simply EPIC!!! Def Leppard, Forever. Wolfsky9, 65 y/o now.

  • A storming epic of a song, may Def Leppard rule forever

  • grandaddy of all epic rock anthems, doesnt get better than this

  • SOUNDS TOO MUCH LIKE BRIAN MAY DON´T YOU THINK SO ????

  • love how part of this was used as the opening of the sparkle lounge tour :D

  • ufff este man tok como los que realmente saben!!!!

  • vivian did this solo almost the same way he did when he was with whitesnake in 87

  • Viv's solo was cool and all. I just think it sounded a little irrelevant to the context of the song.

  • man u can really hear sav in this one

  • Thumbs up if you think Rick lost his drumstick at 6:24

  • @jasebrown46 I'm not sure if it was his stick or someother part of his kit went flying - connecting rod or something...didn't affect his sound though!!

  • I think John sykes should replace Steve

  • Vocals were right on in this song!

  • phil with a gibson to his knees holy sh!T

  • @bigbrown84tk yeah, it's weird to see him with a gibson

  • its weird seeing Phil with a Gibson. its usually Steve's guitar

  • at 3:05 til 3:50 they use that for their intro before they come on stage in their 2009 tour!! :o just a little cleaner

  • Is phil playing a gibson? no wayy

  • no it is VIVIAN who is playing

  • no but phil collen's playing a gibson. thats rare for him.

  • Right, but don't forget before he played Jackson guitars he played Ibanez, right

  • When he first joined Def Leppard, he played Ibanez. Then he switch over to jacksons.

  • He recorded most of the sparkle lounge using a Squier Telecaster that cost about $150. The PC1 is the best guitar ive ever played, all Fenders and Gibsons rolled into one guitar.

  • Indeed, he played soem gibsons while in the band Girl ... before leppard.

  • Vivian is playing an Tom Anderson Guitar

  • I think he is playing it to represent Steve

  • Yea i think you're right cos on the In the Round tour, Steve played it with a gibson and Phil played the solo so they probably just swithced places so he could give Vivian his big break.

  • @guitarman829 Steve played the solo on the in the round show.

  • @nwbritt I meant the the big random shred in the beginning

  • @guitarman829 Steve did an intro bit to this song. Its nothing like this though.

  • @nwbritt I know thats what im talking about its still a solo thats what im saying

  • @daltonvh22 He blows steve out of the water. He is a MUUUUUUUUCH better guitarist than Steve Clark.

  • @bonfirejovi

if hes much better. then why haven't they been able to make music worth shit since hes died. NO balls. He was the genius. Hes the "riff master"

  • @tommy81296 i'm agree, vivian is a good guitarrist, but steve was the best guitar player in def leppard , R.I.P Steve "steamin' " Clark the "riff master"

  • @patoheavy

yeah exactly right steve is alot better than people ever thought

  • he should have stayed with dio but hes a good guitar player , he tries to mimick eddie van halen alot , maybe he should be like phil and just use jacksons period better sound ,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Does it not seem like Vivian cambells playing style somewhat mimics those of mr. Eddie van halen ?

Hands down steve Clark is my favorite and phill thank god you went back to your jacksons

  • Vivian is totally underrated

  • At 3:01 Viv starts playing what is currently their opening music for their picture collage...THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW!!!! I love it.......

  • If Viv wrote all of the intro here, would say the second part of it starting at 3 01 and not including obviously into GOW, is his best work and very Leppard.

  • i remember seeing this live in the round in Nov of 92 in Atlanta. I was blown away, and that was the moment I was hooked in Def Leppard. Viv just does his job, quietly, and effectively. Funny to see Phil play a Les Paul, which was the inspiration he told me in an AOL Q and A for the PC1, a strat and les paul mixed. This is just terrific, thanks so much for posting.

  • This is one of my favorite songs! I would love to see them put it back in the lineup, maybe for us die hard fans!!! HINT HINT

  • this is great. The full version, with the solo. Thanks for uploading.

  • thanks i'll have a look

  • thats was fab thanks for posting it.

  • hi. yes i've posted few others. There is also very rare version of tonight - which is basically acoustic. Hope you will like it!!!

  • One of their greates songs. Souds great live. DEF LEPPARD ROCKS!!!
