  • They sound awesome....

  • Tubes are my fav. band. I think their recordings are the best ever. Music is about sound, Not sight. The live shows are fun, but I just like to watch them play my fav songs. Too big of a deal made out of the shows, too little credit for fantastic songwriting and musicianship skills. IMO. and....Finally an explanation for their lack of the great fame they so deserved. Great interview.

  • Absolutely !!! SO much great stuff, yet SO unrecognized !! LOVE THEM!! EVery album lives in my IPod !! xox

  • When The Tubes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the first year of eligibility I thought there might be hope for the Hall. Not just a commercial PR swag. From the first few albums you knew Fee and the Tubes were on to something new.

  • Lovely !!

  • He just seems like such a likable guy. Very down to earth and honest.

  • So that's the real Fee - cool guy.

  • whats that expression? "the sound track to my life"? love the Tubes!

  • Fee and the Tubes still do a great show, Don't miss them

  • TUBES RULE!!!!!

  • Great interview! It's funny that Fee mentions the problem they had with fans being wowed by the spectacular stage shows, then being disappointed when that didn't translate to the records. I collected their albums for years before ever seeing them perform live, and I thought their records evoked the most amazing imagery on their own. And that was before I even started smoking pot!

  • It seems they never quite found their stride - which is a shame, WPOD and WDYWFL are classics from this era - too bad they couldn't get the ballance right between stage show/life/making records. I guess when the band has so many members without one clear leader ( like Zappa ), it's hard for one person to take charge and say "hey, this isn't really working financially or life wise, we're killing ourselves and just digging a deeper hole".

That's my best guess - sad, great band.

  • Great post, good to see the guys are still performing.

  • Then Love Bomb was released and Capital Records decided to show just how squareheaded a record company can be.
