I love Little Mix but the original just can not be matched. It's different leagues above this cover, it wasn't meant to be a commercial success like Little Mix's and sure it wasn't, but sales mean absolutely fuck all in terms of quality (unless you're Adele). This cover sounds completely empty compared to Damien Rice's original singing and it's one of the reasons why it's a classic among those who love and understand just a bit of music.

I wonder how many people knew the original of this song. I wonder how many people actually realized that there was one. Why do people do this? It was the same with Biffy Clyro's "Many of Horror" (When we Collide), and Goo Goo Dolls "Iris". These are three perfectly decent songs that have been ripped off and given very little to no recognition. If people can't get big from their own songs, they hardly deserve recognition for destroying somebody else's perfectly good music.

@NabaatNovember True, little mixes version is more popular than Damien Rice's, but Damien Rice wasn't given a £1 million recording contract (which covers costs of advertising, too) with a massive company such as Syco music (massive because it has Simon Cowell and Sony behind it) - all of this on top of appearing on the X- factor. Damien Rice's version WAS quality. If you think about it, it was quite an achievement, he hadn't been on x factor and won £1 million, he recorded it in a mobile studio.
