  • Hi, I'm interested in using your video for Pacific Fishing magazine and Fish Wrap. Please get in touch. Thanks. Don

    donmcmanman@gmail.com.

  • what a great vid.thanks for posting

  • How do u not have to unhook the fish? I wanna fish like a badass too!

  • @jasong2xaccount there barbless hooks on shortline poles so a lil slack as they come in releases them using their own weight and momentum.

  • I grew up using live bait to fish tuna. Yellowfin south off of Mexico. Albacore north off of Cal, Org, Wa, one year the Queen Charlote Isands. One year we had 800 tons off the Columbia River. Name of the boat was the "Pacific Sun." Orie Easton capt/owner

  • name of boat? midory? ...

  • Save the Bluefin tuna from imminent extinction! Save all marine life! We cannot blame anyone but ourselves the consumers. Eat less seafood or only Buy seafood with a MCS label. We are overexploiting our ocean's precious resources.Fish stocks all around the world are declining. sign the petition for marine reserves on the greenpeace website! Everyone can change the world ,including YOU! Thumbs up to keep this at the top

  • @1nerdykid Loser!! i throw seal bombs at flipper and set nets for bycatch on purpose baby!!!

  • @undrgrndplz uh how old are you?

  • @1nerdykid does it matter, we heklp feed the worl catching these albacore tunas so rasperry at you

  • @undrgrndplz sorry

  • so who uses them for bait? never heard of it before.

  • WOW UNLIMITED TUNA FISH?HAHAHA CRAZZYYYY...WHAT BAIT ARE THEY USING?DAMN FUCKING COOL

  • are those magic fishing poles that dont need to be reeled or rebaited... wtf

  • @ogdemigod they're just poles with lines tied to the ends and a feather lure for bait. when they get in a frenzy, even a simple hook will get them.

  • @flamedrag18 amazing ! :D

  • i'm from new zealand, where can i buy one of those poles? are the aesy to make?

  • @1wai2mana Traditional ones are usually just long pieces of bamboo. Look around your neighborhood!

  • Oh its real. I do it here for Katsuo on a small boat (20M). Our jigs are like yours I think. Mahi-mahi skin and feather is the best.

  • Great job.... Sure beats the troll method.... lots faster turn around getting that hook back in the water....

Have you got someone butchering / bleeding on the deck..?? Like to get a veiw of that person.... ..lol

    Cheers to all

    Bern

  • HOW ARE THEY getting the hook out so fast its like they have a trigger release on the handle ...howcome they dont have to rebait there hook

  • @twotonetom98

the hook doesn't have a barb so its basically just a big bent needle that can slide in and out easily. Been lifting polling albies since i was 14 XD

  • haha that would be crazy, HEADS! how do they get em off the hooks so easy?

  • I repeat, this video is a fake. Cane poling is for real, but this example is not. If this was real, that rail at the bottom of the video would be moving all over the place. Fished for tuna from a trawler, 7020andrew? No you did not. Tuna is not fished from a trawler. Not in Oregon, not in Washington, not anywhere. Dumbass.

  • @janos099 You have no idea what you are talking about.. Several trawl boats convert to Albacore for summer seasons and either Jig or pole fish... There is nothing fake whatsoever in this video.. Have you ever worked on the ocean? The Camera moves with the boat that is why the rail isn't moving all over.

  • @seaslayer419 He thinks its fake, hilarious. Guess he's never heard of a fixed cam. on a boat?

  • id like to start by saying janos099 is an idiot thats not fake u must have downsindrome. i fished albacore in oregon for 7 years on a trawler and ya you bait guys on a calm day can sure work a school cool vid i have seen this pretty close but thats a cool view !

  • this is cute. Fake, but cute! How the heck are those deckhands barely moving on the OPEN SEA? lol

  • @janos099 fake?! i do this every fall, it's AS REAL AS IT GETS. their feet are under a rail that's how they balance

  • are all albacore tuna fished this way?

  • @bananian nah i think they set nets for them aswell but this method prevents bycatches of different species

  • really hard work, it looks amazing... really tough guys.....

  • I could watch this all night long...thanks for posting!

  • hows a guy get a job on a boat like that?

  • I have one question ... How the hell do the fish come off so easily ?? Squid fishing is very similar on the East Coast of Canada. They just grap on with their arms ... but the fish dont have arms ! lol

  • @KenWelsh77 we use a barbless hook which has a slight curve in it where the barb should be. When the fish go back the hook usually slips out because the tension is released.

  • Ha Thought that little fish was going to pull him over. Great Video guys. Good luck this season.

  • i remember watching a boat like this 1/4 mile from our tack raking them in and we're trolling jigs not using any bait and catching zero fish; just standing their with our jaws on the ground. good work

  • WOOOOOOOO! boom headshot! Who all on the boat? Now you just need some technique!

  • Thats incredible!!!

  • Unreal! I am never seen it dine like that. Very cool!!!!
