I have a question about the IR receiver.Can I use it to control the NXT using any other IR device or I have to use PF remote?

@uditmaniac The IRReceiver will only process signals from LEGO PF remotes. This sensors contains a microcontroller that is programmed to process IR signals from these LEGO remotes. It will not work with other IR signals.

I made the car but I have problems with the programs.

When I try to compile the nxc program in bricxcc it says there is a error on line 49.

It says:

line 49: Error: Preprocesser macro function does not match instance (asm ( _ReadSensorHTIRReceiver (_port, _pfdata, _RETVAL_ ) ))

I don't know how to program in C so right now I'm stuck, and I really need help

@Nopresnik This model was designed with the 1.0 kit and uses the wheels and parts from that kit.

@RyoujiMatsuo You can purchase the PF Remote from lego . com; search for 8885. For the diff gear try bricklink . com and seach for 6573.

You don't have to login to place an order. Add the IR Receiver to your shopping cart and then hit Checkout.  On the Login/Register page just hit Checkout on the bottom.

when I downloaded the program from your website it had two broken blocks which where the steer block and the sign block.What should I do because I'm still a beginner at this sort of thing? PLEASE REPLY BACK TO ME!!!

You need to make sure you the MyBlocks are there as well as the main program. I recommend that you copy the entire file structure into the LEGO Creations\MINDSTORMS Projects\Profiles directory so that HTIRRCCar is one of the profiles. Then from the LEGO Mindstorms software select the HTIRRCCar as the profile.

This model is designed for the 1.0 kit. If you have access to the wheels that are used in the 1.0 kit then it should work fine with the rest of the parts from the 2.0 kit. Of course, you will also need the differential.

At some point there will be a new RC vehicle for the IR RC Receiver and the Mindstorms 2.0 set.
