when i go to ventrilos web site and go to status put my ip there and it finds my server but i can not connect to my server. why is that?

Heyy, I've been getting that contacting server message, and found your video... Even after doing the whole porting part I still get the message. Now, I really don't know anything about computing soo perhaps there's something I'm missing. My router page bit also doesn't give the option to do TCP or UCP on the service type (In fact it doesn't even give me a 'service type' option...)

Can this be helped? Or am I doomed to not having a Vent server? Thanks for any replies ;)

Hey, i don't know why, but this is not working for me. I Have gone into my router put in [application name] Ventrilo Port forward USD/TCP 3784. I also Specified "my" IP address 192.XXx.x.x. Even went into Firewall to Allow Ventrilo to work.. but it is still not allowing me to connect, You know what might be wrong? ( i have Both the Clients downloaded ( SRV/actual vent)

Then i don't think you don't need to port it. If you do .. Look for the access 192.*** thing for your router and port it .
