Socialized Medicine??? What happens when some one with little or no means ends up in the hospital? Everyone now with a serious condition WILL be treated. This is paid for by having the hospital enroll the patiend into medicaid and bill accordingly. If the income level exceeds that of goverment care the patient is billed. Not having the means in which to pay usually ends up discharged threw the courts thus the hospital increases the fee's for all of whom have insurance.

Canada's healthcare has been kicking strong for over 40 years and you don't see our Canadian neighbors falling to burning socialists. If youre worried about getting impersonal treatment here's a fact: France and Germany give new mothers four days to recover in the hospital while INSURANCE companies in the US push mothers out in one day. Japan has more CT and MRI scanners per person than we do here in the US. If you need a CT Scan here in America be prepared to get a 3AM appointment to get in

Actually, The Canadians who come across the border for treatment are sent here by their doctors..... and the Canadian healthcare system foots the bill. Many Canadians who choose to have a hip replacement for example, end up getting an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio through their Canadian Doctors.

You wont have to check your bank account to find out if you can afford it, the government will already have that information, and use it to decide what type of plan you can and will recieve. and it will be a deciding factor in what type of treatment the governing board decides you are eligable for.
