what is the fix plus?? and what is a "dupe" for it. because i use clinique super-balanced powder foundation, like the one that you twist to reveal loose powder (dont know if you are familiar with it) and i just got the blushcreme in ladyblush. i still want to use both together but dont really want to go buy another moistening thing, can i use water or more like a moisturizer?? thanks so much, just came across your channel and you are VERY helpful!! :)
Ur soooooo Awesome. I love that your so informative not like other gurus that are playin guessing games when they give info on makeup... u are truly educated :)
Hey, thank you so much for this! I've been wanting to try creme blushes but I haven't because I didn't know how to apply them. And now I know to use them on cream (liquid?) foundation.
Thanks again, Enkore! I bought a cream blush "cuz it's pretty" then realized I should probably know how to apply it right. YouTube to the rescue again!
hi koren, question, pretty much we both have the same color, what MAC blush cremes can u suggest that also can be used as an eyeshadow base if can just be, thanks for your time.
I'm so glad I saw this (was looking for your FIX+ video as per ScandalousBeauty) because I have always considered StudioTech a cream to powder foundation and didn't think a cream blush would work.
you can use a little face primer on your cheeks so the powder sticks better. Otherwise, cremeblushes tend to stick better and therefore last longer. It takes a little getting used to using, but once you have it down its easy breezy.
the blushcreme tends to last longer as its got a bit more pigment than CCB. Altho, if you use CCB as a base primer, it will even make it last even longer.
cream foundation can be beneficial to oily skin, because if your skin looks a little oily, and you have a matte blush, it will look odd. Like you have patchy skin. So, i think cream blushes is ideal for oily skin
yes you can use fluid, then a cream blush. Start light to create a thin first layer of cream blush, and then build from that, so that the foundation under doesnt get messed up
make sure you use a damp sponge so that it doesnt absorb the cream blush too much. Otherwise you will have more blush on the sponge than your skin. Also, throw away the sponge every use - Bacteria will build up immediately on those.
I think a cream blush looks more natural than a powder blush and it's easy to use with the fingers. I use two shades: a pinky shade for the cheeks and a more brown shade for contouring.
just found your videos :) i am a makeup artist in argentina, and here i ve studied makeup artistry for 5 month(basiks.. bridal, day, night,smoky..etc...
but we never learn how to use a cream blush or shadows:( our teacher always saed "just awoide creamy makeup, couse they are messy" .So i always wondering how is the creamy blush.. and thank to you i have found an answer :) what do you think about creamy eye shadows?
thanks Jeniaeve - creme eyeshadows you have to be careful, because most creases specially if you or model have oily lids. Its also not great in hot and humid weather. That is why most prefer powder eyeshadows.
I'm having a really hard time trying to find a blush that works...even bronzer...being a dark skin woman I've used bronzer and blush and its like I dont even have it on. I want to be able to wear pinks and peaches since it is warm out...could I not be applying enough to my face?
hey temptingbeauty - this is what I do to my dark skinned clients. I apply a light highlighter to their cheeks first. I even used Vanilla pigment on dark olive or african american skin. Then I apply the pink or peach blush on top of that and its does make the color pop on dark skin. It slike using a white primer prior to color. Try that.
ohhhh...I get it..yes I do the same on my eyelids by applying a primer first...thanks a bunch!..it always helps me to come back and watch more videos when subscribers questions are answered...thanks again.
I Koren! I have a problem with blush I was wondering if you can help me. I use a mineralized powder foundation and use powder blush as well, but after a few hours it disappears on my skin. Im not that oily on the cheeks either. Do you suggest a technique I should use? Thank you so much!
you can either: 1. Spritz some fix plus on your brush the use your foundation or blush, so that it sticks to the skin longer. 2. Use a face primer like Prep & Prime Skin or Photo Finish. This will hold the foundation and blush on the skin. Try one of those.
hey omeleko - yes 188 will give you a nice softwash using a cream blush, which is still a nice look and finish to it. Of course, you can build it the more you apply.
hey Jana - theres not a lot of colors to choose from, so definitely just try them on and see which one suits you. This season peaches and apricot creame blushes are in with dark tones.
well depends on what you're wearing too. I do hoever prefer plum-y blushes on tan tones like nc/nw 40-50. Check out Flirt & Tease, Sweet as Cocoa too - if you have dry skin, moisturize well 15 mins prior to makeup application.
hi Yuna - youre on the right track, you can definitely use baby pink, peach, coral undertone creame blushes, and it will complement your yellow tone without making it more yellow.
I need your HELP! I have a medium dark complextion (compare to Janet Jackson). And Im in the market of purchasing a blush that will give me that dewy/glowy look. What would be best for my skintone. Also, I have combination skin. Mostly oily, however during the cold months its SUPER DRY. Im looking for something I can (prob) wear year round. way up starting with my needs.
hey Peridot - check out Sweet as Cocoa and Flit & Tease shimmer blush from MAC. Also regarding foundation, its normal to use different texture as your skin changes through the season. For winter months when skin is dry, Cream foundation is best, in the summer, Liquid and Powders are good.
Chosing a blush color is so hard for me cause my skin is pretty dark (face&body N5). I wanne get that glowy look, but dont want it to look like i'm wearing tons of blush. What shades would u suggest for creamblush? Thanks!
hey naghy - if you have dark skin, you can definitely try a light blush, like Blossoming or Brit Wit, start light then build, so that way it wont look like you're wearing tons.
hey sud - you dont want light colors that are ashy looking - not all light colors will look ashy on the skin, so just eye-ball it out and see which one is not ashy - much like light eyeshadows - some can look chalky on dark skin, some dont.
my lovely Koren i love love love all of your videos and i m so glad i ve got more of your material to watch as i havent seen all of them yet:)
i recently bought a cream colour base and its multi usage. Its ''shell'' from MAC and i usualy use it as a natural highlight before any blush on the top of the cheekbones. Can i use it as a base for eye-make up?Shell colour is okay for applying on eyes and lips.i need your opinion though:P
hi Elena - yes cream color base makes great eyeshadow bases as well. If you have oily lids it might crease on ya, but if you dont, then its great. I love NUDE cream color base as an eyeshadow primer. Youll see in some of my Eye Look videos :).
hi! first i'd like to say that i'm so into you're videos. i've been watching your videos for a couple times now 'cause i need to learn how to apply make up 'cause i'll be doing my make-up on my graduation day. i already bought some make up and i was wondering which should i use, my cream blush or powder bronzer? and by the way i have i liquid foundation. need help!! thanks!!
hey laedi - congrats on your grad! you can use the bronzer to add warmth to your skin - just apply that on the outer perimeter of the face - forehead, jawline - then creamblush on cheeks - key is apply light and build until you get the right intensity you like. Its best to apply foundation, then your blush. Set both with regular powder, then bronze using bronzer. Hope that helps.
I've never thought to use my fix+ spray like that. I use cream blushes quite often and use my 187 for that and powder blushes and have NO problems applying it. =)
Have you ever used the Skunk Brush to apply your cream blushes? That's what I use and it is amazing!! I use it on powder and cream and have not had a problem either way.
hey rose - you can apply those much like in this video. For mousse, its really best to stipple/dab it on as opposed to brushing it on. Using a brush or sponge is best.
no, you can use powders on liquid foundation. You just need to set the foundation with clear powder first so the powder blush doesnt patch or streak. If you wear bluscream on liquid foundation, DONT powder the foundation. Apply the blush first, then powder to set everything.
Thank you so much. I really needed that advise for my mac blush creme because my skin is so dry and I usually wear mineral foundation powder. So thank you.
I have a MAC cremeblush and a MAC powder blush, and I've found it impossible to apply my cremeblush, which is very disappointing! I have a cheap horrible blush brush that over applies. Which MAC blush brush should I get? Should I use my foundation brush to apply my blush?
Also, why do you have to set your blush with powder? What does the powder do? Should someone who doesn't wear foundation still use powder?
hey lightning - you can definitely use your foundation brush. Setting CREAM blush with powder helps it stary on your skin, same with other cream-based products. Otherwise, it will slide off and or fade. Pwder blushes doesnt need to to be powdered. You can wear just powder if you want to rid of any shine in your skin - what we call blotting.
If i were to say one side looked better than the other i would say the powder side looked lighter and smoother and nicer than the other side Great work EnKore a demo well worth watching Thanks :)
I've always been afraid of using cream blushes because they came out streaky and looking very 'makeupy', I was doing exactly what you said not to do! Thank you!
actually, riley theres a simple solution. what you do is take the cream blush onto ur fingers and rub them together to warm the blush. then apply it. :)
Thanks !

light blush? i'm dark too, but wont light ones seem ashy?
sudheshnam 3 years ago
hey sud - you dont want light colors that are ashy looking - not all light colors will look ashy on the skin, so just eye-ball it out and see which one is not ashy - much like light eyeshadows - some can look chalky on dark skin, some dont.

thanks! i'll try that when i get to the mac stores next time!

my lovely Koren i love love love all of your videos and i m so glad i ve got more of your material to watch as i havent seen all of them yet:)
i recently bought a cream colour base and its multi usage.

Youll see in some of my Eye Look videos :).

hi! first i'd like to say that i'm so into you're videos. i've been watching your videos for a couple times now 'cause i need to learn how to apply make up 'cause i'll be doing my make-up on my graduation day. i already bought some make up and i was wondering which should i use, my cream blush or powder bronzer? and by the way i have i liquid foundation. need help!! thanks!!
laedi2987 3 years ago
hey laedi - congrats on your grad! you can use the bronzer to add warmth to your skin - just apply that on the outer perimeter of the face - forehead, jawline - then creamblush on cheeks - key is apply light and build until you get the right intensity you like. Its best to apply foundation, then your blush. Set both with regular powder, then bronze using bronzer. Hope that helps.

thank you so much for your help! i do hope i can get this right. ahaha!! thanks a million again!!
laedi2987 3 years ago

I've never thought to use my fix+ spray like that. I use cream blushes quite often and use my 187 for that and powder blushes and have NO problems applying it. =)
ReenyLu 3 years ago
Have you ever used the Skunk Brush to apply your cream blushes? That's what I use and it is amazing!! I use it on powder and cream and have not had a problem either way.
BohemianSheila 3 years ago
THANK YOU! I was about to give away all my cream blushes until I saw this! I wear powder foundation and have had a horrible time. Thank you so much!

hi how can i apply gel blush or mousse texture blush? i bought those but have trouble applying evenly..thanks =]
rosewitch2000 3 years ago
hey rose - you can apply those much like in this video. For mousse, its really best to stipple/dab it on as opposed to brushing it on. Using a brush or sponge is best.
EnKoreMakeup 3 years ago
thanks =] i will try it tomorrow..your videos are really helpful =]

hey koren
about ur rule
so powders or powder blush
shouldnt be used on liquid foundation ?
what if i use blushcreme on liquid foundation ?
abercrombieandvick 4 years ago
no, you can use powders on liquid foundation. You just need to set the foundation with clear powder first so the powder blush doesnt patch or streak. If you wear bluscream on liquid foundation, DONT powder the foundation. Apply the blush first, then powder to set everything.

hey enkore i just have a question for you, will setting the cream blush with powder take away the dewyness of it?
makeuplover1988 4 years ago
sorry ive just realised uve already answered my question earlier on in the comments of this video!
makeuplover1988 4 years ago
i use cream blush almost exclusively, its easier to blend, looks more natural.
im using one by stila.

Wow! You are amazing; thanks for the advice. I was wondering, can you use an H2o spray such as the Evian, to make the powder foundation "Creamy"?
MeaningOfAloha 4 years ago
sure - but spray on the brush! not on the powder.
EnKoreMakeup 4 years ago
Thank you so much. I really needed that advise for my mac blush creme because my skin is so dry and I usually wear mineral foundation powder. So thank you.
Signai1976 4 years ago
I have a MAC cremeblush and a MAC powder blush, and I've found it impossible to apply my cremeblush, which is very disappointing! I have a cheap horrible blush brush that over applies. Which MAC blush brush should I get? Should I use my foundation brush to apply my blush?
Also, why do you have to set your blush with powder? What does the powder do? Should someone who doesn't wear foundation still use powder?
xLightningxBoltx 4 years ago
hey lightning - you can definitely use your foundation brush. Setting CREAM blush with powder helps it stary on your skin, same with other cream-based products. Otherwise, it will slide off and or fade. Pwder blushes doesnt need to to be powdered. You can wear just powder if you want to rid of any shine in your skin - what we call blotting.

Thanks!

I've always been afraid of using cream blushes because they came out streaky and looking very 'makeupy', I was doing exactly what you said not to do! Thank you!

sometimes i find it hard to spread with fingers. could i spray fix+ on to the pan? lol
rileyXXS 4 years ago
hey Riley - use a brush or sponge. If need to you can spray Fix+ on the sponge, not the creamblush.
EnKoreMakeup 4 years ago
actually, riley theres a simple solution. what you do is take the cream blush onto ur fingers and rub them together to warm the blush. then apply it. :)

Thank you Koren! I got a cream blush as a gift...and I've been wondering how to apply it right.
