You can do either one depending on what you're actually doing with the horse. Most western pleasure riders would sit the trot. But most barrel horses I've seen are taught to have a faster extended trot that can be quite bumpy so you do a posting trot. But you can do whatever you feel comfortable with.

ive been dying to have a horse since i was 10 and im 14 and i was planning on getting one when i was 16 becuz my parents said ok but now i think i shud wait until after college becuz i don't know how i will take care of the horse if i did get it at 16 - any advice? cuz i dont want to have a horse for 2 years and then have to give it up... that will break my heart

i might have to wait until college as well. high school years can be very busy and you might not have enough time. I feel exactly the same way! I would never want to lose my horse when I get one. it may hurt a little that you wouldn't get one for quite a while. I'm 16 right now and its funny cause 10 is when I started loving horses! But I feel that I should get my life in order before buying a horse considering that I am planning to go to college in another province. try lessons or leasing.

i just got my horse a few months before i turned 16 im going to half lease him out while im in college so i can still come and ride him when i home and he'll get worked while im gone and i can have him back after college

I would wait until after college. You would be more independent and be able to purchase what you want/need for your horse. You wouldn't have to keep asking your parents for anything and everything only to be told no. And you don't have to rely on anyone else to be able to do daily horsie things like feeding and cleaning. Plus, high school and college gets pretty busy. If I were you, I'd wait (unless your parents are willing to take on ALLLLL the responsibility and work while you're away).

Pacino spooked and i fell of falling under him.

I couldnt get up and friend helped me up and then i blacked out 3 times and was rushed to the ER. I cant ride until my hip heals. But i said I was getting on him again healed or not :]

her color is such a pain to keep up with. she gets pretty brown in the summer, since i dont really put a fly sheet on her or anything, so she gets bleached out by the sun.

as for shows she's pretty good, behavior wise. she's still getting used to the show atmosphere, since its something completely different for her. as for placing wise - she's normally in the top 3 placings =p

No, I never had other horses before her at my house. The place where I was riding her at was the place that she used to be boarded at. In the end, when she's just walking around in the turnout field, is where she is right now. We built a barn before we got her.
