Obviously I'm a fan of Mj and why I'm watching this BUT Kobe is a damn good player too. The big difference between the 2, forgetting about stats and this or that, was when MJ had a clear path to the hoop I was estactic to see what was in store for us. In fact other than maybe a Mike Tyson fight, no other athlete had me so looking forward to seeing him perform again. NONE. that is what MJ is to me and to so many. It's unfair for Kobe to even be compared to someone like this.

to be fair, I think the game changed a lot over the years, I think Jordan had more "freedom" to do his thing, no zone defense was allowed, and nowadays the defense is harder and there are much more fouls.

I think a young Jordan today......would probably make as much points as he did in the 80's, but with much more free throws and less highlights.

5.38. it's not only the dunk. it;s the defense combined with the offense. this guy leaves his player to cover the man left alone by the double team. so quick hands to send the ball to his teammate and then run the floor at full speed to finish. he created the play all by himself. i think the third year was unbelievable cause 1)not rookie anymore, 2)completely healthy and young and3)dood teammates hadn't come yet (pip,grant) and he had to do everything

Yes. interestingly, MJ's most amazing single game highlight reels are NOT those 50 or 60 pt games. Thats when his jumpers are on & he pulls up much more often than not. His best moves are these 27-30 pts games when his jumper is not really automatic & he really attacks the rim ferociously. The results are jaw dropping moves left n right.
