Up in the "Tags" info, the, "skorpion vz. 61" is mentioned. The vz. 61 fires a 7.65x17mm Browning SR... or, the .32 ACP - just as you surmised. That cartridge does have a low recoil, but the way she holds the pistol here, it would surely kick harder than that.

There are other variants of the Skorpion that fire a 9mm (I'd have to look 'em up); just not the vz. 61.

@CSnakeV I assume you're referring to the FN Five-seveN? It's the only handgun which fires a 5.7mm (5.7×28mm to be precise) at the moment. And unless you are with Law Enforcement or the Military, you cannot get the "Armor-Piercing" cartridge legally.

I'm sure you can "find them" for some unholy amount of money... but there is a "Civilian" 5.7 cartridge, which is legal in the U.S.

Certainly I don't claim to know much about other Countries regarding this relatively new cartridge.

@CSnakeV Well, that's why I posted a reply. I was reading this comment section and noticed one of your comments. I realize you don't live in the U.S. (I think I remember a reference to South America?) and that's why I said I don't know much about foreign gun laws.

But, FN Herstal DOES make a civilian model in the U.S.. The Five-seveN USG, and you can legally buy the 5.7x28mm SS195LF, SS197SR, and SS197SR V-MAX - At least where I live; in Oregon, U.S. (where gun laws are fairly mellow).

The "Steel-Core" armor piercing SS190 bullets are for Military and Law Enforcement only. I'm not even sure Law Enforcement are allowed to carry that particular round (anybody know?). It's purpose was for Military applications, as it is light-weight and soldiers are able to carry more ammunition.

But yeah, no armor piercing rounds are available to the general public ANYWHERE in the U.S.!

I've seen the Five-seveN for sale in my area from $970 to $1190. That's brand new with 3x20rd. magazines. Man, it is without a single doubt, the next handgun on my list! That's one very cool thing about living in Portland, Oregon U.S.A.; the gun laws are pretty lax and chill. I have all sorts of cool shit you'd probably love to shoot.

Still, either the Glock or the Beretta you mentioned would be a great piece!

"steel-core" penetrate body armour more easily and at greater distances (200yards), however at close range fmj 5.7 can still penetrate some soft concealed armour. There are slower 5.7 civilian rounds with "soft" aluminium tip that will deform heavily on impact and are not capable to go through

beside it is not only speed or ap core that counts - look up PSM pocket pistol in 5,45x18 - almost sub sonic at the muzzle, no ap and a serious threat to vests though..

Personally, I have no interest in penetrating body armor. I was only pointing out to my South American friend that the FN Five-Seven is, indeed, available in the U.S..

It would be a much more accurate handgun and .45 ACP leaves a pretty big whole. USP's (along with a lot of other handguns) are also much more reliable and easier to get ammo for.
