  • you determine the length of rafter by measuring the WIDTH of the building, divide by two for a standard gable roof.... not by meauring the length of the building as you said at about 2 minutes :28 seconds....

  • Thanks for the comment, the statement was to get the size of the RIDGE measure the length of the building this is the size of the ridge. I did not explain how to get length of the rafters in this sample. Thank you.

  • How to build a hurricane/tornado-proof house.

Now seriously, without offense, why don't you use bricks like here in europe?

  • how to build roof

  • Do you cut both ends of the rafters at an angle for the roof or just the side facing the ridge? Also how thick is the sheathing for the roof three quarters or half inch? Thanks

  • Is the roof sheathing half inch or three quarter inch thick? Also do you cut the rafters at an angle on both ends or just the end thats connected to the ridge? Thanks

  • You can use either 9/16, 1/2 or 3/4" ply-wood or OSB, we use 9/17 OSB to keep cost down, and for the rafters you want to cut both ends at the same angle.

  • Just astounding! Thank you.
