I never boxed, but I found the same thing in martial arts, competing against myself to be better all the time. I never feel like I want to hurt anyone when I spar, it's more like they are there to test my ability.
what he says about discipline is very true.. and in a competition..you may look at the other guy..but inside its like.. ok or oh no.. will this make me lose or can i come back in time.. and training in some way isnt just for sport..its for lifestyle..even if some ppl dont understand...yet

antonio your a deep guy, i agree with pretty much everything u say about martial arts.
for me martial arts was pretty much an internal form of spirituality and mental therapy.
while going to church and listening to the priest, it was like an external form
