  • am i crazy or did jerry always have the dopest nikes..

  • C'mon Jerry, give ME the finger!

  • Fuck, i want that finger

  • that's definitely the finger he lost when he was a kid xD

god damn jerry is so incredible

  • @MrGrevy Yup, the darker the better!

  • Good lord what a failed abortion of a man Franken was. Idiotic

  • Ahhahahhahahah Jerry's thumb kept on ice all these years....go figure. Jerry is such a goofus on the roofus.

  • @khataroo A darkly stained heroin using finger

  • @MrGrevy So what ?

  • @PRETALIATION Nothing just sayin.

  • this is hilarious

  • I can't believe that, was that his actual finger?!

  • @NeilFraudstrong haha, yes it was, he stuck it through the bottom of the box, which means it was a joke and the finger was not cut off.

  • @ppxoon

    I'll admit, I wasn't paying close attention.

  • @ppxoon dude it's on ice and also jerry doesn't know any jokes

  • FUN_eeeeeee!

80's Warfield shows were hot! 3 SETS! Dancing in the Lobby. On the Lobby Stairs. Upstairs around the bar! Break out the Champaign!

  • The stuff he used was. It's pretty well documented by people close to him at the time.

  • Note that Alfrunk channel is not available, apparently we weren't the only ones who didn't appreciate his trollage

  • "apart from polo and breeding Arabian horses it's the most important thing in my life"

    FUNNYYYYYYYY

  • Thats not his real finger is it?

    OneLove

  • Yes it is!

Its just the one from his left hand poking through a hole in the bottom of the box...

Funny funny times, lovely lovely man

  • it was his real finger, it was still attatced to his body though

  • hes a fucking genius

  • Cause trans fats don't cause heart disease, right you sanctimonious jackass??

  • Since when has any deadhead denied he was an addict? What planet do you live on?? He smoked like a chimney, was diabetic and did not healthy most of the time. He knew it, we all knew it. Take your morality police nonsense elsewhere you used to be cool man.

  • His fingers are stained black from heroin use

  • You can see his finger move in the box. He clearly poked a hole in the box and stuck his finger in there for those of you who believe that's real.

  • hahahahah, boy his finger didnt stop growing either

  • that finger was so fake, haha fucken jerry

  • you saw it move, right?

  • Fuck yeah!!! Let Phil sing!!!

  • He's my Senator also! He Rocks!!!!!!!!

  • Jerry was a pretty nice guy too really.

  • That's my Senator! :)

  • Sorry to hear that.

  • Don't be sorry, he is doing a great job and has done more in his first year that his predecessor did in 6 years. Go Al!

  • Well that's part of the problem isn't it? Wanting government to do things instead of stay out of your life. I feel bad for people like you. I'm afraid to ask what the child-senator has done that you're so proud of. (Let me guess - useless, feel good government program?)

  • Motivated by the harrowing violence Jamie Leigh Jones suffered in 2005 while working for Halliburton/KBR in Iraq, Franken pushed a measure to withhold defense contracts from companies that "restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery and discrimination cases to court." Franken's measure passed, 68 to 30. The 30 opponents -- representing 75% of the entire GOP Senate caucus -- were Republican men.

Hurts, don't it? The truth has a liberal bias.

  • The lemmings are out in full force today. Wow great job. I guess you didn't see this for what it was - a torjan horse to give the government more control over private industry. It must be easy getting elected with simps like you as voters. No critical thinking, no savvy, just hate. Sad. I wonder how you felt about the fact that more republicans than democrats voted for the civil rights act?? I'd love to hear your spin on that one. Try thinking for yourself it won't hurt ya I promise!

  • Congratulations! You would rather see a person get raped than see a business be regulated. Sleep well.

  • Classic!

  • By all accounts from other interviews and clips, Phil was/is the "nicest" and most friendly (esp to the new keyboard players) guy in the band.

It would be so cool to chill with Phil for a day. Even cooler IMO to chill with Jerry of course but that's not possible.

It still amazes me how humble of a guy Jerry was in spite of his devoted following. Maybe it's just a given that he was at least as nice as anyone in the band so no one mentions him as the nicest. He was the coolest cat around :)

  • ...lmao

  • can you believe Al Franken is a senator

  • No. No i can't

  • @Chslosers Al is funny(ish) AND smart! How sad that there is only one national politician like him

  • Silly Jerry,

    Polo & Arabian horses XD

  • le cortó los dedos su hermano de pequeño

  • thats very true man.phil lesh had and still has a heart of gold man

  • This tape was very big in the early 80's as cable was just starting to spread and this would fill up like 3 hours of programing Just about everyone with cable saw the Dead at Radio City, even my grandmother.

    And that was cool.

  • How about everyone just leaves jerry's personal problems out of this and just appreciates him for who he was? He was a great guitarist, a great singer, and a great guy. so if everyone could shut up, that'd be great, ok?

  • were there cell phone cameras in 94 or 95?

  • Actually Jerry HAS OD'ed, on more than one occasion. And which deadheads are not facin that fact? We all know he was an addict. But whats your point? That he's a bad person for it? He enjoyed his life to the fullest and lived a fuller more satisfying life than alot of us can hope for. He crammed 200 years experience into 53 years. So I think he did just fine! And btw Jerry was off the coke after 85 so no coke in 94

  • Franken and Jerry are both top people in their respective fields, both very bright individuals. This is funny, very very funny, anyone who wants to sit around and complain still that NOT EVEN JERYY WAS INVINCIBLE, is wasting their time. It is what it is, and he was what he was, and he was a great musical and artistic genius. He's gone, he's gone he's gone yeah he's gone, ooh ooh ooh nuthin gonna bring him back RIP JG peace and happy new year folks

  • "we can have high times if we abide"

i believe that jerry used to have problems, but them solve them out .. however, in 94 his problems with heroin were too big to abide..

    heroin and coke: stupid drugs

  • You have NO IDEA what struggling with addiction, just to numb a serious pain, is like. So shut the fuck up. I'm sorry: please shut the fuck up...

  • Ok, maybe because some people had the foresight to never do drugs in the first place. I empathize brah, but not if you are going to whine about it.

  • So you're a weak minded conformist who never explored his own mind. Pretty sad.

  • No, I don't need drugs to "explore my mind", I go to college for that. People who do things like LSD and Acid are not more creative or self-reflective, they rely on drugs to make up for their own boring selves. But sure, I'm at fault. I'm a 'conformist' because I don't do drugs, right? Even though pretty much every single person I know my age does drugs, I am a 'conformist' for not partaking. Your logic is flawless and demonstrable.

  • I'm not sure what 'college' you went to, but you might want to ask for your money back. *Sigh* let me explain. Society at large does not accept illicit drug use. It is considered aberrant behavior. I was pointing to the fact that you conform to society's norms...did you seriously not understand that? Do you understand that there is a world beyond you and your friends?

  • There is a difference between societal norms and governmental regulation. *sigh*

  • @MachinaMasterpiece If you have never taken LSD (which is 'Acid' college boy) then you are not qualified to speak to it's effect on an individual's creativity.

You are boring with your pathetic elitism - likely a shield for the fact that you have no personality.

  • Respond to this video... College has closed more minds than opened - MIT and HARVARD did wonderful work with the CIA and the Army on many a campus. Colleges crank out the next generation of obedient zeks deluded that information is the same as knowledge.

  • thats an excuse buddy

  • I do. I am addicted to starbucks so don't act like u know me.

  • @Alfrunk oh shit lets have a fucking intervention

  • @ryanranger don't be sorry, man

  • It was the chilie dogs not the fuckin herion. Jerry Rules

  • oh yeah because everybody od's on chilie dogs right

  • FRANKEN FOR SENATE

  • Loved Jerry but couldnt stand and still cant stand Al Franken.

  • RIP jerry we miss u man

  • LOL jerry such a joker that was his finger from his left hand stuck through the box HAHAHA

  • re: Dead Ahead Video.

Yeah, I remember when Al was funny too. I really liked the Frankin and Davis Show and miss the Al Frankin Decade.

He was a funny guy and we all sure miss him.

  • hahaha! oh goodness. Jerry was the bees knees. hahaha

  • That is some entertaining shit. Al Franken and Jerry Garcia. I could watch Jerry interviews all day sometimes. What a loss to ther world without Jerry in it. Al Franken was in the Dead Ahead Video and that was pretty funny too.

  • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE contribute to and, if you're a Minnesotan, or even if you're not, vote for Al Franken for the US Senate.

  • el tío aldo!

  • So...who won the finger?

  • I did and its still in my ass

  • I think Al Franken should be elected senator of Mydirtyass!

  • he wasn't on the persian at this time? of course he was. from 75/76 on he was a persion freight train

  • He seems fine to me, a little twitchy maybe.

  • hahaha thanks.

  • hahaha thanks.

  • TOO MUCH!!!!!

  • With all due respect, Jerry was more coked up than a Taiwanese freighter in this video. It is true he was not on the Persian at the time but was most definitely not sober.

  • Agree Baskmw, and just to be completely technical, Jerry was never 'sober' in the true sense of the word. When he wasn't rockin' the Persian there was black tar opium, all manner of pain pills which were prescribed for him at this time for his toothaches, and always and forever, weed. Doesn't mean he wasn't a musical genius, just a human being with a never-fully-departed Jones.

  • jerry garcia is sober in this video.

  • hahaha! great. jerry has a great sense of humor!

  • is there more footage from this night?

  • Yup :)

  • The Dead Ahead video release is from this night.

  • phil

  • Did he say Bill or Phil?

  • That can't be his finger... it would be all nasty lookin after 30+ years

  • Wow...born yesterday were you?

  • Jerry was trying to clean up at this time, was indeed sober. More of this interview he describes a recipe for virgin planters punch and talks about learning to have fun without intoxicating. I imagine it would be pretty tough to get sober when intoxicants or entheogens played such a central role in your development spiritually/socially/musically. Just sayin'.

  • You are about 7 years off.

The Planters Punch skit was from the New Years 1987 broadcast, this is from 1980.

  • Thanks.

  • Get your facts straight you poser moron. The punch and 'chef' scenes were from a new year's eve 1987 video.

  • is this part of the dead ahead video?

Because i the DVD and have never seen this.

  • this footage is not from Dead Ahead but from a tape of the close circuit feed from that night.

  • who won that finger?!

  • lmao :P

  • LOL Crazy Fingers....

  • amazing footage..thanks for posting!
