EFC hasn't had a net plus transfer budget during the last three years. Every Goodison Park seat generates less than ten pounds per game than Anfield.
EFC needs a new stadium or face the club being relegated to the Championship. What is sad, Goodison Park is a relic, even in the Championship.
Even is EFC is sold to new owners, the gate receipts will still be the lowest in the Premier League. A new stadium is forthcoming with or without new ownership.
But this is what football is about right? There's no life in these big stadiums like The Emirates, City of Manchester. It has a excellent atmosphere which you can't get these new state of the art grounds that are coming to the Premiership.
im a Chelsea fan but aint been goodison, it looks to me like a proper stadium with character unlike bloody emirates and city of manchester although good stadiums theirs no character. Hope i get there soon. HE wa basically saying it is the worst premier league ground around. To me it looks like one of the best.
While many bask in the traditions and atmosphere of an old stadium, neither pay the bills of a Premiere League club. Not now or in the future. Its a shame the Kirkby proposal died. Hopefully its death won't lead to the death of the Everton FC in the Premiere League,,,
Goodison Park is the only Premiership ground i have ever been to. when i go back to England, i don't know when, it better still be there. History and tradition must prevail!
Everton should be doing everything in their power to stay at Goodison and redevelop it in the manner that Villa have done with Villa Park. Villa now have one stand left to redevelop, when they've done that the ground will hold over 50 thousand with room for further expansion if needed along the Witton Lane. History and tradition is priceless - if Villa (the Fathers of the League) tied up with a company like Tesco it would be a sad, sad day for football.
@thedoc241000 It's great that Villa have stayed at Villa Park, its a great old stadium and we really don't want Everton to move to some soulless stadium out of town, but if you look at Goodison you'll see that there really isn't any room to build except the park end which has got a new stand anyway. The Tesco deal is dead but the sad truth is Everton couldn't afford to build without someone like Tesco. Goodison isn't perfect but its home & thats where Everton must stay
I have been a football fan since the mid 1960's and I don't like whats happening to football. Listening to Robert Elkstone dismissing Goodison Park and talking about the "fan experience" just underlines the fact that these people know nothing about what makes football so special. Long live the atmospheric old football grounds and may this breed of so called "owners" live to eat their own words.
BULLSHIT, why should we move to a souless modern stadium on a retail park/industrial estate with no history. i.e reebok stadium. (+been to old trafford with its large capacity, I cant get me knees in behind the seat in front) I LOVE GOODSON PARK,& it could be redeveloped despite all the lies.
why has no one considered moving the pitch towards the park end & turning it slightly diagonally, that way Gwladys street could be deeper & larger & the church & roads/housing would no longer be a problem.
ive been to old trafford, craven cottage, bham's stadium(forgot), and Goodison. To me Goodison was the best , not only because i love Everton, its because the overall atmoshpere is very cosy and i do feel home although i live in Hk.
simple answer re-develope goodison it dosn't have to happen all at once
in 3 summers that could be possible
kenwrights motives for a move was to attract a bigger profit for the sale of the club .self interest ..dont fall for his pathetic sentiment the man is a fraud and a liar the sooner he fucks off the better only for moyes bringing steady stability to the team the fans would of forced this twat out long ago
@staverosefc To right mate,Elstone must now cringe whenever he sees this video. I will never forgive the twat for PUBLICLY dismissing blues who didn't want to go to Kirkby as 'flimsy'.
I´m a Spurs fan and i´ve been to Goodison park many times , and it´s a special place , i fucking hate these poeple who talk to you like your a corperate big wig with a large wallet , who wants to eat their burger with a knife ´n´ fork ? fuck them , keep Goodison as it is , i love it !!!
Because both are out of their depth in todays Premier League. Elstone should go back to Rugby League and as for Kenwright he been spinning too many lies too often and his bullshitting has caught up with him, after 10 years its time for change at our club,Kenwright has had a decade to acquire investment and failed.
His constant soundbites of 'i love EFC,the boys pen' etc don't buy quality players. I, and loads of others want this phoney out ASAP.
Elstone has to say what his boss Kenwright wants him to say. However having been in a meeting when he was present he seemed sympathetic to staying at Goodison. He is not an idiot and knows just like the rest of us moving to an out of town location from a growing city is ridiculous and could become the death of EFC.

Elstone talks weakly about why we need to move but doesn't say why it has to be to Kirkby. In realty, Goodison is behind the times but is Kirkby really the answer?
For a mere 35 milion, we would have had a new stadium over 5 years ago at the kings dock, untill lovey bill fell out with paul gregg, a move to cow shit land in kirkby with a cheap stadium, built out of pre cast concrete, will be the final nail in Everton's coffin, EFC's new derby game againts wigan athletic says it all. Keep EFC in our city.
We was the first club of the city, we will not be the first to leave, if only bill and robert elstone wud listen to what the fans want, we shud start chantin a song to get our point across cause i dont think they have a clue that alot of evertonians want to stay at goodison
... then this would be the best option, as we could extend and still stay in Liverpool, personally, this is my prefered option. and I believe that Everton can do this with the right moves.
Kirkby - If we move here then we wont even be in Liverpool so why would we be called Everton? Also the kopites dont mind taking the crap out of us for being with Tesco. But we would get more money an a bigger stadium with an arguably better experience.
Scotland Road - If we move here we are still in Liverpool but at night matches it is full of scallys, and it is not the most pleasent place to be. This could be a compromise for both parties.
Stay - If we do get a buyout by the UAE ... continued
heres a simple solution for them, all the money there putting into buliding this 'new stadium', they might aswell just revamp goodison park up for probably a lot less!
Look at the best stadiums in the world they are in the city centre. Look at the cardif arms park in cardiff immense stadium it wouldnt be the same if it was on a industrial estate in ebbw vale!!!
im a big everton fan and come over frm Dublin whenever i can,why cant they redevelop the stadium?its been done at Lansdowne road wiv homes right on top 55.000 seater and allso at croke park stadium90,000 seater,i think its a bad idea to move frm the city its where the atmosphere is thats why ireland still play in the city maybe that knob Elstone should get in touch wiv the F.A.I
my football club will die if it moves there. no other place like goodison on a saturday, let alone at night. there wont be a street end, there wont be any character what so ever! games where the fans have pulled us through (last min goals or the nights against fiorentina or the mancs where the opposition are so intimidated of our fans/ground/atmosphere) will be no more!
How can pple think this is a bad move, its 1 of the oldest grounds in the lge, theres no space 2 rebuild goodison, and i know its got alot of history but its about now,r we going to go on about the 80s forever?we need a new modern ground, wer up against clubs with billions now,its not like it was in the 80s we have to move on.most of the people who dont want the move is for selfish reasons and not to do with the future of Everton! its all the pubs and shops around the ground who are against it.
the don, how wont we fill a 55,000 seater stadium? were you even at wembley? there was as much as 55,000 everton fans, there is nothing wrong with the new stadium, it looks good and i dont suppose it has and restriced views, the only problem is that its in kirby. personally i like how the stadium looks but i just dont want to move to kirby -_-. we still need a new stadium, we cant stay at goodison forever even though it is an amzing place, i have mixed feelings about the whole thing tbh. :/
If we move to Kirkby, it will be the end of Everton Football Club as we know. The Kirkby Stadium is of poor design, the whole match day travel is a shambles and the people who know the ins and outs of Kirby won't go. Kirkby is Bill Kenwrights final paycheck. We shall be stuck with a terrible ground for 55,000 ish which we can't fill. Should of moved to the kings Dock when we had the chance
hes meant to be a memer of the staff at everton iam a season ticket holder and been a season ticket holder for 12 years and iam 17 and not once have i thought we need a new ground this is our city we were here first so if any team should move it should be them
we shud just saty who cares abar the new grounds id rathere have this ground it has our history where legends frm our past have played in n thet robert elstone is a manc anyway thats y e wants 2 go out of lpool
The Factof the matter is, we have to move! I'm completely against it, but it will help us. If we don't get the planning permission, obviously i wont be to let down! haha But i would be willing to go along with the clubs decisions! If we get the naming rights, 55,000 thousand seats, possible to enlarge to 65,000! It Would be amazing! So lets just go along with whatever the decision is come November! COYB!!!
evertonjf08 you're an absolute idiot. It's a FACT that ticket prices would INCREASE in Kirkby. We are not getting a fantastic deal. We're paying close to £100 million, for a 'basic, mid ranged' stadium, with poor transport links, and we won't even own the ground. Kirkby would kill the heart, soul and traditions of the football club. KEIOC
We are there as fans for two hours or so on a match day. Ripping out our heart so we can get an extra 15'000 fans in, (if they come...) and get more boxes so people can eat a nice meal is bollocks. Its about what happens on the pitch ultimately and thats coming along fine. Let Goodison see some more silverware, she deserves it.
also they would re-duse the price of the tickets. now i only go about 3-4 games per season but with the redused tickets i would surely get a seasen ticket !
the price of tickets would increase so would prics of food and drinks in and around the area to increase profits thats why there moving really and travel is difficult to the new site i want the move but only 2 attract investors and have more transfer funds but we risk losing the atmosphere and the fact its not in the city is a blow but its still merseyside
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
omg doese any one get why we must move from goodison! we cant re-furbish goodison because of the housing round the ground. And it would cost us loads to do it up cause we might have to buy out poeples housing and land, and we need planning permition,Can some 1 aswer this question why do people like west ham get big investers and we being a top 6 team with 125 + of history and unique fans?? is it because of the stadium ?? when we do move we are getting a fantastic DEAL of tesco saving us loads.
everton r merseyside they cant leave goodison ok goodison is crap but just do it up, make park end bigger n bullens n tha will do for now. n i cant reli see the point as we struggle to sell the season tickets so y do we need so many more seat, but HEROES COME AND GO, OUR PASSION IS FOREVER, OUR PASSION IS GOODISON
MOVE TO KIRBY it only couple of mins out of liverpool.well in some cases it is in liverpool but its the only way to move forward for all the yound evertonians, its th eonly way to get bigger players in the club and also were getting help finantially,it even might bring in billionair investers!!!
We have no choice but to move to a new ground if we want larger crowds. Everyone knows what the views are like once we sell 34,000 seats, behind a metal post, or a view or the roof and pray the ball stays on the ground....
Yes grahto, you may be right, but a 'shithole' is not the right word for the first purpose built football stadium that has seen some of the most exciting games in history, right ? :)
I respect your opinion "grahto", but if there are many like yourself who do not like the seating standards in the ground, is it not possible just to replace the seats? Yes, there are other problems, but i believe that they are not significant enough to move the team out of the city, and angering thousands of fans in the process, like myself.
the stand that he intoduces is the away stand, all the others are much better and who gives a fuck about away supporters any way KEEP EVERTON IN OUR CITY
I think as Everton fans we all understand WHY the new stadium has to be built... Yes Goodison is a shithole. My arse went numb after 30 minutes on those hard wooden seats, that I swear to god were so thin they made it so you had a seat for each arse cheek. I think as Everton fans we just don't understand the move to Kirby. Because it might help the club a LITTLE bit finacially, it's going to be a disadvatage financially to most of the clubs most loyal fans.
Total pish, worst idea possible. Just done to squeeze more money out of the club at the fans exspense. If there is a signicant percentage of fans that do not want to move then DONT MOVE! I am telling you now, if you move from goodison, then Everton are doomed. And during a credit crunch as well...........shocking.
KEOIC. Get your head out of your arse Kenwright. Period of exclusivity my arse. See what happens to your "loyal fanbase" when you piss off up the road.
The rejection of your training ground is clearly a decision made by non supporters of your club. Evertonians now need to make themselves candidates for the next council elections. Enough votes will ensure seats at the Council office which will help pass through the plans. We did the same at Charlton. In 1991 Greenwich Council rejected our plans to move back to the Valley which led to 14,500 votes at the Council elections helping secure our passage back to the Valley in 1992.
why not move to everton to everton the regeneration of L5 and L4 is really exciting why not move to there reduce prices at liverpool and everton to welcome every sort of person can't he understand there must be about 20000 fans that cannot aford to watch everton or liverpol anymore because of these ridiculous prices liverpools th emost dprive dplace in england bit ticket prices ar atill expensive so 30 quid for us in liverpool is like 50 quid for somewhere richer like manchester
look really mate the only reason id ever go to tthat ground is if they reduced prices because lets be honest whos gonna pay 35 quid prob the price the money grabbers wil charge to get in it miles out of the city we can't even fill goodison like you i htink elstone is an idiot only intrested in the corporate side
iam a 14 year old lad who loves everton all this moving to kirby is out of order pushing everton out of the city to kirby all the buissness on county road is going to go bust, out of all the evertonions most of us want to stay at goodison park iam a season ticket holder in the park end now goodison park is my second home like wat evertonrboss said we wont sell 50,000 everyweek fans arnt going to travelle from walton and bootle and everywhere else to go to kirby so please respond SAY NO TO KIRBY!!
why take a chance of makeing a catistrophic mistake that wil leave us in debt for many years and take the bigest chance in losing those supporter that make goodison what it is.
your absolutely right mate, what happens when we start going through a bad patch of football and we're only putting 35 to 40 thousand fans in a 50 thousand seater, we're gonna look like city or boro. Because no1 is gonna go out of they're way for a club that turned it's back on its fans.
im all for a new stadium just not in kirkby, how can you move a liverpool club out of the city, and how can you justify using everton to improve kirkby town centre while destroying buisness on county road and around the city No to kirkby
Atmospere is the biggest part of a ground and will clearly be lost when we move to kirby! and also we wont sell 50,000 a week, were struggling for 36,000 this year.
takes more that words and computer images to build stadium , the useless twats in charge at everton couldnt build a sand castle. the don, how wont we fill a 55,000 seater stadium? were you even at wembley? there was as much as 55,000 everton fans, there is nothing wrong with the new stadium, it looks good and i dont suppose it has and restriced views, the only problem is that its in kirby. personally i like how the stadium looks but i just dont want to move to kirby -_-. we still need a new stadium, we cant stay at goodison forever even though it is an amzing place, i have mixed feelings about the whole thing tbh. :/
Jay92efc 2 years ago
Kirkby Utd, say no to the move! We're going to end like MK Dons a plastic phoney club.

Well redevelop or stay in the city you stupid looking cunt
frankbutcher1878 2 years ago
If we move to Kirkby, it will be the end of Everton Football Club as we know. The Kirkby Stadium is of poor design, the whole match day travel is a shambles and the people who know the ins and outs of Kirby won't go. Kirkby is Bill Kenwrights final paycheck. We shall be stuck with a terrible ground for 55,000 ish which we can't fill. Should of moved to the kings Dock when we had the chance

hes meant to be a memer of the staff at everton iam a season ticket holder and been a season ticket holder for 12 years and iam 17 and not once have i thought we need a new ground this is our city we were here first so if any team should move it should be them
MrJamiejohnlee 2 years ago 2
our history is good but our stadium is crap and shit
jasonmorgan922 2 years ago
And so is the shed they are proposing to build outside the city. Stop taking in all the propeganda the club feed you for crying out loud.
The day Everton move to Kirkby would be the start of the death of this great club.

KEIOC

Goodison Park is EFC's heart.
We are there as fans for two hours or so on a match day. Ripping out our heart so we can get an extra 15'000 fans in, (if they come...) and get more boxes so people can eat a nice meal is bollocks. Its about what happens on the pitch ultimately and thats coming along fine. Let Goodison see some more silverware, she deserves it.

also they would re-duse the price of the tickets. now i only go about 3-4 games per season but with the redused tickets i would surely get a seasen ticket !
evertonjf08 2 years ago
the price of tickets would increase so would prics of food and drinks in and around the area to increase profits thats why there moving really and travel is difficult to the new site i want the move but only 2 attract investors and have more transfer funds but we risk losing the atmosphere and the fact its not in the city is a blow but its still merseyside

This comment has received too many negative votes show
omg doese any one get why we must move from goodison! we cant re-furbish goodison because of the housing round the ground.

MOVE TO KIRBY it only couple of mins out of liverpool.well in some cases it is in liverpool but its the only way to move forward for all the yound evertonians, its th eonly way to get bigger players in the club and also were getting help finantially,it even might bring in billionair investers!!!
evertonjf08 2 years ago
i agree
Ajs2512 2 years ago
We have no choice but to move to a new ground if we want larger crowds. Everyone knows what the views are like once we sell 34,000 seats, behind a metal post, or a view or the roof and pray the ball stays on the ground....
9BIGDUNC 2 years ago
Yes grahto, you may be right, but a 'shithole' is not the right word for the first purpose built football stadium that has seen some of the most exciting games in history, right ? :)
zomglolbg 2 years ago
I respect your opinion "grahto", but if there are many like yourself who do not like the seating standards in the ground, is it not possible just to replace the seats? Yes, there are other problems, but i believe that they are not significant enough to move the team out of the city, and angering thousands of fans in the process, like myself.

the stand that he intoduces is the away stand, all the others are much better and who gives a fuck about away supporters any way KEEP EVERTON IN OUR CITY
WJeverton 2 years ago
I think as Everton fans we all understand WHY the new stadium has to be built... Yes Goodison is a shithole. My arse went numb after 30 minutes on those hard wooden seats, that I swear to god were so thin they made it so you had a seat for each arse cheek. I think as Everton fans we just don't understand the move to Kirby. Because it might help the club a LITTLE bit finacially, it's going to be a disadvatage financially to most of the clubs most loyal fans.

KEIOC they should do the vote again and see how many vote in favor after we found out all the bullshit they have spouted,
angelsandairwaves182 2 years ago
Total pish, worst idea possible. Just done to squeeze more money out of the club at the fans exspense. If there is a signicant percentage of fans that do not want to move then DONT MOVE! I am telling you now, if you move from goodison, then Everton are doomed. And during a credit crunch as well...........shocking.

Heres what they need to get...

KEIOC. Whatever.
colinsmyth99 3 years ago
The rejection of your training ground is clearly a decision made by non supporters of your club. Evertonians now need to make themselves candidates for the next council elections. Enough votes will ensure seats at the Council office which will help pass through the plans. We did the same at Charlton. In 1991 Greenwich Council rejected our plans to move back to the Valley which led to 14,500 votes at the Council elections helping secure our passage back to the Valley in 1992.

why not move to everton to everton the regeneration of L5 and L4 is really exciting why not move to there reduce prices at liverpool and everton to welcome every sort of person can't he understand there must be about 20000 fans that cannot aford to watch everton or liverpol anymore because of these ridiculous prices liverpools th emost dprive dplace in england bit ticket prices ar atill expensive so 30 quid for us in liverpool is like 50 quid for somewhere richer like manchester
scouseL4edz 3 years ago
look really mate the only reason id ever go to tthat ground is if they reduced prices because lets be honest whos gonna pay 35 quid prob the price the money grabbers wil charge to get in it miles out of the city we can't even fill goodison like you i htink elstone is an idiot only intrested in the corporate side
scouseL4edz 3 years ago
goodison has history! dont leave it all behind!

Let me say Robert you dont sit in the ground like the rest of us , so dont try telling me about my experiences in Goodison.

as long as it is not in kirkby, and the ground is still close to the pitch like goodison, then i am not arsed if he move
123JessMonty123 3 years ago
Utter propaganda.
How can the club come out and try to preach to me that our ground is a shit hole whilst in another breath take my season ticket money.
Elstone is a YES man ordered by Herr Kenwright to preach this shite
montydon21 3 years ago
your absolutely right mate, what happens when we start going through a bad patch of football and we're only putting 35 to 40 thousand fans in a 50 thousand seater, we're gonna look like city or boro. Because no1 is gonna go out of they're way for a club that turned it's back on its fans.
RoyalBlueMersey 3 years ago
im all for a new stadium just not in kirkby, how can you move a liverpool club out of the city, and how can you justify using everton to improve kirkby town centre while destroying buisness on county road and around the city No to kirkby
itlabs 3 years ago 3
Atmospere is the biggest part of a ground and will clearly be lost when we move to kirby! and also we wont sell 50,000 a week, were struggling for 36,000 this year.
