interesting, i made a slingshot like thing that is basically a barrel and a couple rubber bands,and it can pierce cans and milk jugs from about 20 ft, after that it strays off course. fun little bit to play iwth, though

OMG that's so cool it can shoot a centimeter in from 1 foot away :D guess what my blowgun from 70 feet away can poke all the way through a pear, go 1 inch and a half through an apple and can go all the way through a tin soda can from 70 feet way :D oh but your cross bow must be better

Nice, but it doesn't appear to be a crossbow as such. It seems it uses elastic as its power source rather than the flexing of the wood. That makes it more in keeping with a slingshot/gadder than a crossbow. I made something similar when I was about 10, I soon found that it was just as good without the cross piece and the elastic attached to the front. Makes it easier to carry and use also!

On this smaller prototype version I created, I used string instead of a rubberband. The first few shots were pretty good, but after a while the string stretched out and had no tension at all.

I've seen yours. Very nice, where do you get your supplies? I can't find that kind of piping (the arrow) or the elastic bands anywhere. Is that surgical tubing you have there?

Umm well for the bolts i found this metal rod at a surplus store and the band on one of my videos was a workout band which is basical surgical tubing and i used rubber bands for a band on another video.
