  • I'm noob at pc, so, hard drives in a modern system if you have the right cables, right? Sata wasn't it?

  • 1 gb is 1000 mb jou dumbass..

  • @Satur0z You are the 16th person to point this out. It is true, 1024GB is in 1TB. This gets into decimal vs binary systems which is not the point of this video. Google search for 'what is a terabyte' if you would like to know more.

  • 1gb = 1024 MB, it was not bad.

    gj

  • @HQRidAz You are the 15th person to point this out. It is true, 1024GB is in 1TB. This gets into decimal vs binary systems which is not the point of this video. Google search for 'what is a terabyte' if you would like to know more.

  • Cant you help me,i want buy new pc,my problem is,which i want choose good brand ?,my means, acer, dell and other ?

  • pls help me guys.I want to buy a new hard drive sata 3.But my motherbroad its sata 2.Is there anyway to convert my motherbroad to sata 3 without buying a new one cause a good motherbroad cost like 300 euro

  • @ApacheGate2 SATA 3 is a the new standard for hard drive interfaces. It allow data to be transfered at up to 6Gb per second. The older SATA 2 allows transfers of 3Gb per second. Here is the thing. No hard drive can get close to 3Gb per seconds of transfer. The limitation is in getting data off the disk. There are new SSD (Solid State Drives) coming out very soon that will need the extra bandwidth that SATA 3 offers, if it is just a hard drive or current generation SSD you don't need SATA 3

  • i have to say that 500 GB of space is more then enough for a regular computer user!

  • @oOoDeadlyoOo That may be true. What we recommend is the capacity hard drive with the most bang for the buck. In 2009 that was a 750GB drive.

  • Its 1024 not 1000

  • @AThrashMetalMonster Once Again... Yes. That is true and 1024GB are in 1TB. This gets into decimal vs binary systems which is not the point of this video. Google search for 'what is a terabyte' if you would like to know more.

  • can my computer run on just a external hard drive?

  • @Gamingmast3r Yes it can. I would not run a computer from an external hard drive. The drive and all your data would be more vulnerable to accidents and theft. However if you want to do this make sure you get a hard drive with an E-SATA (external SATA) connection. The computer has to have this connection as well. You can use a standard external hard drive with a USB connection but USB will limit the data transfer, slowing the computer down terribly.

  • which is better ?? 3gb/s 5400RPM or 200 mb/s 7200RPM??

  • @selearemus What two hard drives are these specs coming from?

  • @hpcbdvd 1st is WD15EARS and 2nd is Seagate Barracuda

  • @selearemus The WD15EARS is a 5400RPM drive and with a 3Gb/s SATA interface. The 3Gb/s is how fast the interface can transfer data. There is still a limitation in getting data off and onto the hard drive. This is typically in the 40MB/s to 140MB/s. How fast this actually is depends on a lot of things. Generally a 7200RPM drive will perform better than a 5400RPM drive.

  • @hpcbdvd 1st is WD15EARS 3Gb/s 64MB

    2nd SEAGATE HARD DISK BARRACUDA 7200.11 - 1,5 TB - 7200 RPM - 32 MB - SATA

  • oh.. and 750GB ?! you will use a computer for like 5 years and still you wont need that much.. recommendations are for like 250-Minimum 400 GB - Medium 640+ High

  • @VorpDAHACKA That depends what you use the computer for. Its very easy to fill up a 250GB drive with pictures, games and especially video. The price difference between a 250GB drive and a 750GB drive is only about $30. I think its worth it to get the 750GB.

  • omg... learn something and then do tutorials ... YOU DO NOT KNOW basic stuff :X

    1gb=1000 mb ?! :X :X at least you didnt say 1MB=1000GB ...

  • @VorpDAHACKA What part do you think is incorrect?

  • @hpcbdvd is 1gb= 1024MB

  • @joaquinpega Yes. That is true and 1024GB are in 1TB. This gets into decimal vs binary systems which is not the point of this video. Google search for 'what is a terabyte' if you would like to know more.

  • Great Information, I am not an expert in computers but this video has certainly helped me expand my knowledge. The questions that i had concerning hard drives were clearly answered thanks to the video. Awesome Work.

  • When they perfect computer software voices it will sound like this guy. Good stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • a GB is acually 1024MB and TB is 1024GB

  • @Henri2902 You're not the first person to point this out.

  • How much was that Western Digital HARD DRIVE at 6:50?

  • @Scottcreek942 That was a 1GB hard drive. They go for around $75 right now.

  • @hpcbdvd um... ok but why does it say 750 GIGABYTES RIGHT THERE..?

  • @Scottcreek942 Thats the minimum capacity we recommend, but the one actually shown in the video is a 1TB, sorry the 1GB was a typo. 750GB drives are about $70 right now.

  • the narrator reminds me of GLaDOS

  • Thanx a lot for some informative video. Plz keep going by adding new lesson. Again, Thanks a lot...

  • what is the minimum space of hard drive for pentium 4 2.80ghz? coz i tried to install hard drive that has 16GB of pentium4 that has 2.80ghz, after that i install the operatinmg system at the end of installation it does'nt work. thnak you.

  • @pnoycali2003 It depends on the version of Windows. Windows XP needs about 2GB. Windows Vista needs 20GB and Windows 7 needs about 16GB.

  • @hpcbdvd why would he install something as worthless as a 16gb for a computer anyway XD

  • i have a question

What programs did you use to make this videos?

Was it just a movie editor?

    Cause there just awesome!!

I need to make a mini video of cleaning a pc for a school project

  • @edgarwertt I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to make this video. It's expensive though. Adobe Premiere Elements is a more basic version of the Premiere that will work fine for you. It's around $70.

  • can you raid different speed hard drives?

  • Yes you can but the RAID array ,the combination of the drives, would run at the speed of the slowest drive.

  • with 3 hard drive

one year old , 70 weeks old and one 20 weeks old

  • and it is 7200 rpm

  • i have 2200 gb im my computer it is windows7

  • i gotta admit that im not bad at the computer, but most of what you said was new to me. thank you for the clear and educational video!

  • yea what great videos!

  • look i play world of warcraft and some other games but atm wow keeps freezing and doing stupid sht, so i was looking at starting to build a gaming computer or some thing that is well worth the time and money, so i was looking for tips and ideas on the type of hard wear to buy, and soft wear!

  • @IneedTodisco firstly u dont need a highend grafics card for wow a 8800gts is gud enough (run at an adverage 60 fps),recommend 2gb of fast ram (1330) or 4 of slow(800). quadcore cpu eg q6600(2.4GHz), motherboard that supports your cpu and ram(ddr2 or ddr3), good quality power supply, you wont need more then 600watts. and HDD but remember your computer is only as good as your slowest component. you can make a cheap powerful pc for 1000 that would b better thn some 2000 ones.

  • In the real world a gigabyte is 1024 mb so a hard drive is ALWAYS less than what the drive manufacturer states. Why the manufactuers do this is a mystery to me. Also 10,000 rpm hard drives are not rare. You can buy them at any computer store for like 230 bucks each for the 300 gb version.

  • $230 for 300GB is expensive. The number of different models of 10,000 RPM drives is much lower than the number of 7200 RPM drive models (rare). Most computer shops don't carry 10,000 RPM drives because they are so expensive, per GB, compared to 7200 RPM drives.

  • this is quite helpful considering this is for newbies. i only need to learn a few more things on pcs

  • wow.. that was so helpful! thanks alot!!

  • yes dude thanks alot

    i gonna bookmark ur channel

    thumbs up

  • Thanks really helpful, this are the good youtube videos they should have more coments.

  • omg dude keep doing what you're doing you rock!!! (although most of the stuff you said i already knew) but you still rock on and im not 1 of those people who say 1st post cause they're gay

  • @2007FORLife I'm gay... :(
