Um... I don't think you realise how much this song meant to the people of Norway.

This song put Norway back on the Eurovision map and it is the highest scoring Eurovision song ever. It also became loved worldwide. The awards are held in Norway, so of course it's fitting. Plus this is Alex's way of giving back to those who voted for him.

Alex is just perfect, he performed it till the end despite the fall though he himself was the most dissapointed about the violin sounding strange. He performed it with great dignity.
