  • wonderful!!!

  • AMAZING!

  • I don't know why, but this reminds me of something, although I can't quite put my finger on it

  • Absolutely beautiful-you are incredible!!!!!

  • This is a wonderful treatment of Smetana's Moldau, guiving the imagined river an ethereal, dream-like quality as it flows toward Prague.

  • It seems as simple as incredible.

  • I do think this version sounds richer and holier than the other version of the Moldau-B. Smetana, but I don't know why?

Could the producer tell me why?=)

  • AMAZING!!! YOU ARE AMZING!!!

  • nagyon szép!

  • Water from the Vltava in the glasses?

  • At the beginning of the song, it sounds like he's about to play another classical song, that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it and it's driving me crazy. 0:17 to 0:22, anyone know? lol.

  • @WinglessRaven If it helps, the notes keep getting higher, then go back down the scale to the low. Alternating in the pattern he started playing them in.

  • @WinglessRaven You must be thinking of Greensleeves. came to my mind too. Thats actually not technically classical music since it came from the Dark Ages.

  • wow

  • you are awsome =D

  • Robert, impressive and a thing of beauty - bravo!

  • amazing !! =)

  • this is amazing

  • cool! never heard musical glasses before and it sounds pretty cool

  • wow its such a good sound!!

looks like a nightmare to learn and set up

  • Maravilhosoooooooooo! Adorei!

  • u make it look so easy

  • Amaizing. One of my favourite musical pieces on such unusual instrument.

  • Thanks!! Those kids will get a kick out of this!! :)

  • This is cool. Can I show your video to my Music Appreciation class? Thanks!!

  • @tpot2003 You can show my videos to who ever you like. All the best

  • @roberttiso i love it and wish i could play

  • oh dear god!!!! WOW!!! so cool

  • beautiful! It almost sounds like a chorus of flutes.

  • beautiful, awesome, impressive, gorgeous...

    I had to subscribe :D

  • omfgjpibbleq! I hate wine glass music and I hate songs like this!

they're just too beautiful and most of the time put me near tears!

  • Incredible to replicate an entire orchestra. Great job!

  • This is just as good as, if not better than the time I went to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra play this :D

  • Belissimo. Mi piace molto ;D

  • Im gonna be fiddling with my mom's wine glasses for the next week XD

  • You are GOD!

  • Very well done mate by far the best on youtube.

  • epic

  • this was like shoving SPARTA and Jesus into a wine glass

  • This is beautiful! I love it! hey!! Have you ever done Lucia di Lammermoor with an opera company? Quite often they use glass harp during Lucia's mad scene.

  • That's great

  • this is so gorgeous, this guy is incredible!

  • I have seen people play this kind of instrument before, but you are the only one I have seen that has played it so very well, it is very beautiful to hear it when it is played so professionally. ^.^ Take care, I look forward to hearing more from you.

  • how do ya do that???

  • Get a wine glass (with stem), wash your hands with hot water and little soap, rinse well, rub the rim of the glass with your wet finger.

The friction will make the glass resonate.

  • @roberttiso how do you keep the glasses from spilling over!

  • @Guitarstring187 The glasses are tied to the base with plastic strips.

  • This is so cool, this is my favorite classical song, thnx for sharing :D

  • amazing...

  • this music relax me a lot thank you! beautifull music to my ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my very favorite songs in the universe... and it sounds amazing with your glass harp, Mr. Tiso!

  • how in the world.... if this is not amazing than what is?

  • Superklasse

  • i play violin and im glad i dont have to tune so many strings! And yes DragonKhana i love when the tune is perfect I spend alot of time tuning so itll be perfect!

  • Best mark the glasses where the water level is and label it with the correct note. Unless, of course, you have wine-loving guests.

  • when i know, it is Vltava no Moldau? or Moldau is name for Czech river Vltava?

  • Czech - Vltava, German - Moldau - always the same river, the one flowing through Prague. :-))

  • Why didnt you mantion that the music is Israel's national anthem "Hatikva"?

  • Hatikva does sound somewhat similar, but it really is a different piece. In fact, Smetana's Moldau is more or less the unofficial national anthem of the Czech republic.

  • Israel's national anthem was inspired by this song, but they are not the same

  • Its hauntingly transcendent.Somehow I feel Tim Burton and Danny Elfman are in the background waiting to use this in a film....beutifulThanks for bringing much joy.

  • I hope they never have the opportunity to corrupt and exploit it. Vltava is infinitely above both of them.

  • well...if its done well theres nothing wrong with integrating great music commercially. The movie Amadeus brought a lot of wonderful classic masterpieces to the mainstream.

  • Indeed it did. However, I can't see Tim Burton or Elfman creating something as great as Amadeus.

  • it must be so hard to keep the glasses in tune... just because of evaporation... not to mention every time you'd go anywhere you'd have to set the whole thing up again.

    This is just amazing.

  • @offcenteredpotter =) you'll be surprised how many musicians will devote tons of time just to make their music perfect (other than practising, that is)

i profess not to know much about glass harps, but as a harpist i have to tune all 47 strings before every performance, and during every interval. and the harp is bloody heavy too.

so it all depends on what you're willing to give up for your craft ;) in this aspect pianists are probably the luckiest =p

  • @cutefidgety Haha, yeah, pianists have it easy. Particularly those electric ones that are always in tune. I play the violin, which only has 4 strings, so it's not so hard to tune, but I, too, have to check the tune every time I play. This one's probably a bit more difficult to keep in tune. What I really appreciate is that the tune is Perfect (as a musician, I've an ear for it). I can imagine it must be hard to get it perfect like that.

  • taboire, y'est bon! ^^

  • it sounds so haunting on the glasses...

  • I love this particular song on the musical glasses because it reminds me of an old carnival tune that you would hear at an early 1900's carnival.

  • That is beautiful, Truly.

  • Чел просто апупительно играет ! мастер своего дела. ^-^

  • omg..i absolutely am amazed. the moldau is one of my favorites you this is just beautiful.

  • The Israeli anthem sounds so much like this piece. Look it up. I love it!

  • It definetly does sound like it. Every time we rehearse this piece, I always end up playing the National Anthem.

  • The Moldau is my favorite classical piece. This rendition on glass medium brings a whole new sense of mystical beauty to it. Thank you!

  • WOW!!!

  • Impressive! It's sounds pretty good!

  • uncredible

  • Brilliant! What a wonderful way to make music.

The musical Glasses produce such an enchaning sound I can't put it into words.

  • almost dream like .very angelic. tranquil

  • Comment removed

  • no words

  • oh tient, je viens de decouvrir cette vidéo avec ma soeur. elle a du jouer cette musique a la flute. elle est d'accord avec moi pour dire que c'est beacoup plus beau à la harpe de verre.

  • i would love to hear toccata and fugue played with glasses. you're vids are are just awesome

  • you can,. Search for bwv565 and TIso and you'll find it!

  • This is just incredible :). Wow!

  • speechless!

  • you are awesome, roberttiso. i like your song selections too.

  • I can't beleve my ears, it's beautiful.

  • Fantástico!!!!!REALMENTE!!!!!

  • How do you keep the tops just wet enough for so long?

  • If you look closely he very quickly dips them in water what stands before the glass harp.

the nabucco piece shows that 2 times

  • that's what she said

  • is this tempered tuning? how was it tuned, it's absolutely incredible! Great playing!

  • I use 39 glasses tuned in tempered chromatic scale.

    So the range is 3 octaves 1 tone ( G1 to A4 ).

Normally I tune my instument A 440, adding less

water it's possible to tune at A 442 to play with orchestra.

Glad you enjoyed my music, all the best.

    Robert

  • ;__; so sad song.. it sounds even sadder when u play it with glasses. in fact, you are really good in that!!

  • I find it amazing that wine glasses can make such a beautiful sound.

  • czech republic Rulezzzzzz

  • ok

    xD

  • lets hope no one gets thirsty... haha

  • Amazing! Such beauty from glasses.

  • Bellisimo. Sei italiano?

  • Si, sono Italiano. Scrivo tutto in Inglese perchè

99 % dei visitatori non capisce una parola della

    nostra lingua. Ciao, Robert

  • è vero. Ho studiato Italiano all'università. Sono Americano. Di dove sei in Italia

  • I'm swedish. I understand what you write. But can't speak italian. Thanks for posting this bellisimo piece, grazie.

  • ja, det var lätt att förstå vad de hade skrivit :)

  • Capisco l'italiano! La mia educazione non è stata inutile!

  • @roberttiso I'm the 1% that understands, unfortunately I can't respond in Italian >_<. Anyway, this video is spectacular and thank you for posting it!!!!!!!

  • Kočka leze dírou, pes oknem... :D Bedřich Smetana was GENIUS!! I am vain of I am czech too... ^^

  • This is so awesome! What a great talent!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! ^o^ PLAYED VERY WELL ^__^

  • Thx for your reply Robert. You're awesome :)

  • were playing this song in our High School band...It gives me chills every time I play this

  • how do u do that by just rubbing the rim. wow thats awsome. i would probablly break the glasses

  • amazing work. I'm curious about the glasses: how do u transport them from one place to another?? And how do u keep the sound as clear as it is right now? do u have to clean them often?

  • All glasses are fixed to the base, for

transport I empty the glasses and cover

them with the top part of the case.

To get a clear sound you must apply the exact

amount of pressure with the fingers,it comes

    with a bit of practice.

If glasses are clean they sound better and

are easyer to play, but just a little bit.

    Ciao Robert

  • this is great, i think i couldnt make a sound, or i would break some of em:)

  • omg :D cool

  • That was fantastic...I am speechless!!!

  • I've replayed this song for like the past hour...it's enticing

  • WOW, perfect =D

  • UUUUMMMMMMMMMMMM...... That was the coolest version of Moldau ever!!!!

  • WOOOOOOOW

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!! That wazzzz ridiculously incredible!!!!

  • That sounds fucking amazing!

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW!! That was AWESOME!

  • holy, shit...that was freakin crazy!

    so impressive!

  • wow that is sooooo cool

  • wow...love it...i played in an orchestra one i fell inlove with the piece..you're good

  • Wow. Amazing. I added to my favs...

  • Beautiful rendition of one of my favorite classical works. Thank you so much. Can't wait to hear more.

  • How often do you have to tune them? :)

  • glasses stay tuned 24 hours with water,

    4 hours with wine.

    ciao robert.

  • how do you tune them ?

  • glasses are tuned by adding water.

As you fill a glass the pitch goes down,

so every glass must have a higher pitch

than the note it will produce.

    ciao Robert.

  • hehe yes that what i've done but stil difficult to get the right notes. well i know how to read the music and also how to play these glasses but now all i want is to tune them hehe

  • What you need is a cromatic tuner with

istalled microphone.you can buy this instrument

in any music store for 30 euro.

the tuner will tell you the exact pitch

    you are playing.

  • a guitar tuner right?

  • A guitar tuner should have only six notes:

    E A D G B E.you need a cromatic tuner

that can tell you any pitch you play.

All the best and let me know how it goes.

  • 10x alot , few practice and i'll do well xD

  • Congratulations!

  • cool

  • WOOW - BOREC!

  • wow!!!

  • woah i didn't know you can play like this
