what a great rock song, what an awesome singer!! Linda Ronstadt was one of my idols in my teenage years....gorgeous, and boy could she could sing!! So sad though that todays female 'singers' are skanky trash!!! ....(hello Rhianna, Kesha, Britney, Christina etc ........)
I used to sing this song in high school all day when I was only 16...My boyfriend was 31 and only my best friend and my Mom knew that I was dating a man 15yrs older than me...This was my song to him I guess...cause I sang it so much and played it so much...I just wanted him 2 dream about me only and no one else!
@shepoopi Mine too!...Such a great time and awesome era...and a wonderful time in her carrer....I had the Mad Love 45rpm cover photo hung up in my school locker for years! Love the title track song too! Her voice can slice through stone and melt almost anything!...including my heart! = )
Wow! I've never seen this vid. I love Linda and this actually was one of my favorite albums of hers, even though she took a lot of heat for it at the time (Elvis Costello in particular was pretty nasty to her). This rocked! Thanks for the post.
@TigermanPCD - I know he referred, somewhat ruefully, to the Costello curse. She covered a few of his songs, and suddenly she's doing standards and opera. ;)
@TigermanPCD he called her recordings of his songs "a complete waste of vinyl" (remember LP's?) I came across a video of his (not on YouTube) where he is about to sing "Alison" and mentions how Linda covered it, mentions that she is a nice lady, and he was rude about his comments...I had never heard of him before Linda...

why do you say that elvis costello was nasty with her?
anacletocoronado 2 years ago
@timtormey What did Elvis Costello say about her? He was known for saying nasty things at the time, particularly the comment about Ray Charles.
