  • Listen to the rhythm section with the DRIVIN DRUMS and VIBE and don't forget the solo break by one NASTY SAX. The girls had some great back up on this one!

  • The most INCREDIBLY strong sounding song ever!!! PURE SOUL "THUMP!" AWESOME!!!

  • Why on earth would anyone want to make a record where the bass and drums come from a machine after hearing this record?

  • it's my BIRTHDAY. had to hear THIS SONG. NEVERRRRRR get tired of the POWER. you would think after alllll these years, it would sound DATED. it ain't happening. TOO STRONGGG.

  • Just bought the supremes greatest hits collection on 33 1/3. Best shit I've heard in such a long time.

  • Once upon a time, they made good music...now we have the Black Eyed Peas and Rhianna...God help us...

  • bilkshepherd: Unfortunately, I didn't start listening to the radio until about six months later; after this song first came out. I really didn't hear this song until several years later. But I still love The Supremes.

I'll be 54 in just three weeks. But since this song first came out in the spring of '66, I was still 8 when it first came out.

  • Reminds me of the way Joe Frazier fought.

  • next to the WORD of GOD ALMIGHTY, this SONG gets me GOING every time. the competition was SO FIERCE at MOTOWN that you HAD to come up out of the box. NEVER B4 heard a SONG like this and to THIS day....IT IS STILL MONEY!!!

  • Always thought this epitomised the pounding soulful beat the magnificent Funk brothers produced, one soilid slab of Motown vinyl that just drags you on the dance floor, "thee juz conna kaep thee feyt still" beltin KTF

  • superb...motown at its best with the awesome funk brothers...thanks for posting soulbrother.

  • And I was in third grade when this song came out.

  • @nanlisa I was 10yrs old and Diana was 22. I was in love. When i heard this ..that voice. the beat. I KNEW i was a fan for Life. I am 55 now and still love her to this day. I have heard a lot of female singers in my life. but None sounded like this. Even a young Micheal was influenced by her singing style and copied her cooew and oooewing a technique he loved her voice style.during this era..1966..

  • This should have been their 13th Number One.

  • This songs brings tears to my eyes.
