Can anybody give me tips on standup slides? Whenever I try to kick the board out, my foot either slides across the grip tape or just doesn't push the board out from under me.

@Tedsta101 lets say ur going heelside like in he vid. put the heel of your back foot over the edge of the board so when u kick out your pushing the board from the rail more than the top. for the opposite put your toe over the lip.

@Fortune2point0 yes I have... on skateboards and longboards, my first day on a longboard I bombed a hill at 40mph... carving and powerslides are uninteresting... not saying it isn't hard for some people but I have been doing multiple sports since I have been old enough to walk so most of the time I have more than average capacity at almost anything... my first time doing most sports I am better than most people who have at least some experience

@21014BMXer No, you did not bomb a hill at 40MPH on your first day. Low speed powerslides on hard wheels are easy, doing standup slides at 30mph+ on soft wheels is not easy. Like I said, try it before you bash it.

@21014BMXer I don't doubt that you believe you went 40MPH, but I don't think you're very good at judging speeds. Things feel a LOT faster than they actually are, especially when on a road. And yeah, snowboarding is generally faster than skateboarding (less friction and steeper descents).

@Fortune2point0 I'll adamit it was scarier on asphalt but the fact remains it was estimated while a vehicle was behind me so I am not just guessing based on feeling. If that were the case snowboarding would feel alot slower even tho you're going fast because the white base plays tricks with judgement unless you're looking sideways which would end up in disaster lol

@21014BMXer I was estimated going 80kph by a follow vehicle, GPS showed I was going 60. Follow vehicles are not reliable nor accurate. And yes, snowboarding can definitely feel slower, especially if you're on an open hill. If you're in the trees or have constant frames of reference it will seem faster. Tight bike paths easily feel 10-15kph faster than they actually are when you're skating them.

I have gone faster on bikes as well... either way. And no I did not powerslide at 40mph that would be impressive (as I already stated this video is impressive.) but I have powerslid a longboard and it isn't that difficult although it is harder than on hard wheels I'll admit
