  • now i can't get that incantation out of my head!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, I have been looking for this one for a long time:)

    Thanks for the upload:D

  • Roger's voice from American Dad! is based on this guy! They really do sound alike!

  • @SnakeStormTV seth base that caricature after paul lynde

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, Dick York was a hottie. And Paul Lynde was an absolute stitch!

  • Glad I found this. This bit is one of the only things I remember from the show. This ones hilarious! Well done!

  • he was so talented that's why he stared as guest on this show and than was giving a role that will keep him permantly.

  • haha roger smith

  • My brother and I loved the character of Uncle Arthur on the Bewitched show,

and would watch it once in awhile only for the chance to see Paul Lynde.

However we hated the premise of the show because it was yet another

example of a woman belittling and humiliating her "lesser husband".

We would comment "Why the hell didn't that dumb*ss leave that gaggle

of witches soon as he found out the b*tch lied to him to get married?"

  • Both gay.

  • @BUDDYSHADOW No they weren't!! Only Paul. Dick York wasn't. And what does it matter anyway? No need to mention it at all.

  • yaga zozy yaga zozy yaga zozy zim on the dislikers lol

  • LMAO...this aired when I was about 5 or 6 y.o My older brother convinced me that I needed to go into my parent's bedroom at 2 AM with a schoolbell, and do this incantation. My butt is still sore from the whoopin' I got

  • @zg1000dru1 Now THAT must have messed up your parents' groove BIG TIME.

  • Hey you little punks who've randomly ended up here... The voice of Roger The Alien (American Dad) is based on this guy.

  • "Look. I don't tell you about advertising so don't tell me about witchcraft please." LOL

  • God, Samantha was such a smoking-hot babe.

  • "Zuma Huga Pitts, and he went for it all the way!"

  • Thee first time I saw this was as a kid. It was a rerun on Nick at Nite and I was supposed to be in bed. I laughed so hard when he did the spell that my grandfather came downstairs and busted me. Totally worth it.

  • Lol Steve Carell was so perfect to play Uncle Arthur hahaha

  • This is funny even by today's standards. This is definately the hardest I ever laughed at Bewitched.

  • @cadge31 This is better than today's standards. Most sitcoms today are so drab.

  • If I was samantha I would of laughed my ass off

  • every time this episode make me laugh so much.. genius... after so many years.. the show is just amazing and so funny,, uncle arthur genius.. darren too.. the faces of sam and endora in the lounge.. keeping it serious.. how the managed it! i dont know! hilarious... thanks for such wonderful series... xx

  • i wasn't even born when this was aired, and i miss this show!!

  • You want a musical critique?? cute...

  • this episode was my ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!! i loved uncle arthur...

  • This is one of our favorite eps. Paul Lynde always cracked me up as a kid, and he was on almost EVERY show at one time or another.

  • @LShackley I still miss him on talk shows, he was the one of the best comedians.

  • OMG - The Hooded Claw was gay !!!

  • sounds like Roger from American dad

  • at 7:00 Uncle Arthur laughs like the Hooded Claw from "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop"

  • @mrmoore1970 Yeah, Lynde was the Hooded Claw's voice and I don't know how many other cartoons character's..

  • Yagga-zoozi, Yagga-zoozi, Yagga-zoozi, ZIM!!

Poor Darrin! Uncle Arthur is always trying to make a fool out of him! LMAO

I love the cast of this show, may they rest in peace!!!

  • Dick York overacted. Dick Sargent underacted. One big difference was that when York kissed Elizabeth Montgomery, you could tell he was enjoying it. When Sargent kissed her, it was like Robert Reed kissing Florence Henderson.

  • @Bangwhistle Well Sargent was gay. York wasn't

  • @binaway Endora was gay also....

  • @belovers4ever please try to understand...your only a mortal.

  • FUCK FIOS!

  • lmao! Poor Darren!

  • Happy Birthday, Paul Lynde!

  • one of the best bewitched episodes ever! i laugh every time.. how they could keep straight faces i dont know! endora and sam.. on the sofa.. just priceless !

  • One of the few times I found Bewitched funny.

  • "Best joke I ever pulled!"

It was. If your side isn't hurting after watching this scene, then you have no sense of humor. This cracks me up every time I see it.

  • "Yaga suzi, yaga suzi, yaga suzi, zim!!

    Love it!

  • he had a big one.. yep and did all kinds of dances with it.. yep

  • Like a vaudeville routine.

  • one of my favorite episodes

  • OMG Paul Lynde was totally amazing. Just loved that guy. What a classic.

  • Me too. I love his facial expressions; he was also good when he played Herman Munster's doctor.

  • how in the world did anyone get thru a scene with paul lynde?...i'd been fired, because paul would have cracked me up on every take!

  • One of the top 5 episodes! Thanks for posting. Super Funny!!!!!

  • I now notice that the actor playing Darrin looked a lot like Jim Carrey (although I know it's not Carrey playing him), don't you agree?

  • @ThomasAnime I never watched the 'Bewitched' movie but thought Carrey would've been a natural for Darrin. Or, going another direction, starring Emma Caulfield and Nick Brendon.

  • classic. I love this one

  • Paul Lynde....the original "I need more cowbell!!" actor!! He was so great on Hollywood Squares. Yeah, it was rehearsed, but still! Anyway, you can see that Uncle Arthur is really, for a fact, losing it, laughing for real, when Darrin (that poor actor...he had an awful painful drawn out death) did his "Yagga Zugi Yagga Zugi Yagga Zugi ZIMMMM!". That was the first time (I was about 7) that I ever saw my Mom laugh so hard that she was crying. That and Bugs Bunny being the gay hairdresser.

  • This episode was an inspiration to me.

  • This episode is funny as hell. Why would he listen 2 him? Yagga Zoozi Zim with cowbells. LOL.

  • comedian, very popular in the 60'2 and 70's.

  • i love uncle arthur! he was always my favorite character in the show, i lived for those episodes lol

  • One day at work I asked a co-worker who was sam's squirelly uncle? He answered uncle arthur. It was really bad I thought of asking about it, and he had the answer.

  • Uncle Arthur: Look I don't tell you about Advertising so don't tell me about witchcraft please.

    lol

  • It only take the first syllable of Uncle Arthur's first line in any episode & I start laughing; that guy rules; comedic genius.

  • Paul Lynde was uncle arthur

  • Yes. Did you know he had also played as a doctor on "The Munsters"?. It was the episode where herman was struck by lightning and looked normal, and lilly thought something was wrong with him!

  • oh, cool! I've nevers seen the Munsters, maybe I should start watching those too! :D

  • He actually played in a few episodes. One was when Herman was trying to diet, and another one was when Grandpa made Eddie grow a beard. I think he eventually became the 'regular' doctor for the Munsters.

  • Darrin is realy gullable......but that's what makes him so funny! :D

  • This is so funny!! LMAO

  • LMAO!!! It's been forever since I saw this scene. Cracks me up everytime!!!

  • Did Max Factor do Endora's makeup?

  • Comment removed

  • I never noticed, Darren was kinda hot! A whole lot of man in that suit.

  • paul lynde is NOT gay!!

  • He was arrested outside of a gay bar in 1978 in Salt Lake City, which lost him his regular slot on the Donnie and Maurie Show. He was known for "partying" with people in the Castro Distic in SanFransisco. He made his breakthrough on broadway. All of those are heavy indications of being gay.

  • She always called him 'Durwood', but this time it was 'Dexter'!

  • Paul Lynde was funny. I almost pissed on myself when they showed him in the hallway.

  • LMAO!!! I remember seeing this as a kid on daytime tvb and almost pissed myself.

  • Paul Lynde & Dick York were hilarious. How did Elizabeth & Agnes keep a straight face filming this? Would love to see the outtakes if any exist!

  • Paul Lynde is funny as shit.

  • I remember watching this when I was little. God, the good old days...

  • I never understood what Endora had against Darren. If her daughter loved him and was happy shouldnt she be happy for her daughter and be supportive?

The old bitch NEVER gave the poor guy an even break.

  • I think its because its a TV show with nothing to do with reality at all. Or it could be that these fun characters are just classic comedy. Perhaps it would have been pretty boring if they made it a drama.

    Its puzzling.

  • TV was different back then.

  • what I believe she had against Darren

was he never allowed Samantha to be who she was, a witch ,ALWAYS dictating NO witch craft, accept your wife for who she is or marry a mortel

  • Or it could simply be that Endora's a bitch.

  • couldnt have said it better:)

  • Was Uncle Arthur Endora's brother?

  • Yes, Arthur was Endors's brother.. she says it in the episode 'Endora moves in for a spell'

    ;)

  • I love this show.

  • I'm a '60s chile, seen this episode a thousand times and this still busts me up till the tears roll down my face.

  • "Ya-Ga Suzi Ya-Ga Suzi Ya-Ga Suzi Zim ... I laugh everytime I watch this.

  • Uncle Arthur and Darrin.

Darrin is trying to learn how to use magic power,

    but....

    ha ha ha.

  • Paul Lynde was my favorite character on "Bewitched".

I even watched "Hollywood Squares" just to catch him on it.

    Thanks for uploading this!

    Five Stars, Favorited, and Shared!

  • Paul Lynde also did the voice of the Hooded Claw/Sylvester Sneakly on "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop."

  • I DIDNT know that pernelldh. Thank you.

I was aware that he was the voice of the rat in the animated "Charlotte's Web" though.

  • and the voice of Templeton ,the rat from Charlotte's Web. Agnes Moorehead (Endora) was the voice of the goose from the same cartoon movie. :)

  • Why don't we have great shows like this anymore?Shows like Andy Griffith, Outer Limits etc...I'm sick of reality shows!Thank you for sharing this!

  • fuck the colorized episodes. B&W!

  • b & w wgat

  • Paul Lynde just collapses into the other room because he can't help himself when it comes to Darrin...XD

This is such a great sketch in comedy. Quite priceless I must say. I don't watch "Bewitched" much but I do enjoy the episodes when Uncle Arthur visits.

    Thank you for uploading this.

  • Paul Lynde was so great. he uses his expressions and voice like instruments. Hilarious.

  • Dick York was 100,000,000 times a better actor than Dick Sargeant. I watch Dick Sargeant's facial expressions in Season 6 and he is not believable.

  • I hope your aware since you don't like fags.... that paule lynde was gayer then a $3 bill...

  • @flamen493 Absolutely!

  • @flamen493 Sargeant was a generic version of York for sure...

  • was the mom or whoever that lady was talking to Samantha the predessor for Mimi on Drew Carey.

  • Uncle Arthur was the best character in the show. Effing funny and didn't seem to give a flying one!

  • I love this story. I always got a big laugh every time I see Uncle Arthur.

  • I was talking to "Daddy Crocket" - my comment did not show up as I thought it would as a response to DADDIO'S dumb posting. LOVE BEWITHCED AND UNCLE ARTHUR THE MOST!!

  • Paul Lynde was so funny as Uncle Arthur.

  • I love the gold old shows!!Without them life would pretty borring. It's so neat to wath them and see how far time has come.

  • thanks for great video:)

  • Yagga zoozy yagga zoozy yagga zoozy ZIM! XD: this is why Dick York was the best Darren, no way Sargent could have pulled this off he was too stiff and no sense of humor at all, terrible choice to play this role.

  • Does anybody know the name of the episode in which the nursary rhyme character 'Jack B Nimble' appears? TIA

  • So is Uncle Arthur the first gay sitcom character on American TV?

  • I remember watching Bewitched when I was a child. It sure brings back the happy memories, this episode is so funny that I couldn't stop laughing. A real classic.

  • this is one of the best episodes

  • Lol that was priceless

  • tadaaa!

  • How could anyone trust Paul Lynde? You'd have to be nuts to believe anything the guy said.

  • dad full of crock: You are aware Mr. Lynde was playing a character named "Uncle Arthur", right? You see, actors do make-believe stuff. Paul Lynde and Uncle Arthur are not the same person. Paul is REAL. Arty boy is make believe. Get it?? Thank you for allowing me to teach you - IDIOT!!

  • anyone notice that most of the woman from the cast died from cancer? I thought that was strange. Mostly ovarian or uterine. Elizabeth died from colon. I still find it weird though

  • So also are Diane Murphy (who shared the Tabitha role with Erin in the '67-'68 season) and David and Greg Lawrence, who played Adam in 1971-72...

  • Zuma.. Hooga.. Pit.

  • Easily my favorite episode :)

  • yea..ur d only 1

  • Yeah, you're the only one. The shocked look on Endora's face, and Uncle Arthur laughing his ass off in the hallway, are belly laugh-worthy.

  • i laughed and laughed when I saw this scene originally on Nick-at-Nite years ago. yes, it is silly but that's why it's funny. Uncle Arthur being a prankster and Darren being so serious about almost everything, it's funny seeing him shake the cow-bell and blow the kazoo as Endora looks at him like he's finally lost his mind and you hear Lynde's laughter all over the place.

  • I always wished my family was more like this.

  • Darens Line " duck call and cowbell, are you putting me on?"

  • Only the first two seasons were originally seen in B&W. Third-eight seasons were in color.

  • I knew I wasn't crazy.. I do remember a later episode with Uncle Arthur saying his feet were killing him-- the camera shot widens to show pistols on the ends of his feet-- firing at him.. LOL

  • I can't stop laughing!!!

  • This episode is colorized.. It has to be.. I remember seeing it in syndication years ago and it was in black-and-white.. weren't the first two or three seasons of "Bewitched" black and white?

  • The first two were black and white, and Season 3 was the first in colour originally. On it's DVD release the US market had the choice of buying seasons 1 and 2 in colour or black and white, but it was only released in colour in the UK.

  • all the actors of this series are dead- I think-however it it lives as one of the funniest and most unique of its kind-great actors and scripts-it is what TV was and could be-however that time is gone-

  • Not all of them are dead two of them are still alive. They are Bernard Fox who played the warlock doctor and Erin Murphy who played Tabitha

  • Did you know...? Paul Lynde did the voice of Sylvester Sneakly a.k.a. The Hooded Claw on "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop."

  • I have all the American series on DVD and Bewitched is probably the best TV series ever made.

  • I like Darren's line "duck call and a cowbell are you putting me on"

  • Yaggazoozie Yaggazoozie Yaggazoozie Zim really works!!!

  • Best line is Sam's: "Mother, have you been asking for that?" lol.

  • Does anyone know what city this house was in?

  • its supposed to be in connecticut.the original one is in california, from which they copied it.

    They rebuilt it in studio

  • its supposed to be in connecticut.the original one is in california, from which they copied it.

    They rebuilt it in studio

  • lol this was soooo funny i remeber this episode and its awesome!

  • My favorite Bewitched episodes were always the ones with Paul Lynde.

  • What a character! Paul Lynde is LOVE!!!

  • Classic! What a great show!

  • floundermania, I think there's a body double for Dick when he falls backwards. Good catch though!

  • I have the Paul Lynde Rule... anytime I see Paul on an old show, I have to watch it until the end.

  • Oh my god, this show is so awesome.

  • uncle arthur is grreat:)

  • Flounder, yes, he did develop an addiction to painkillers. He also suffered from emphysema before he died.

  • yes that ep. is called samantha loses her voice from season 5. that ep. is already on youtube.a user named spherr has uploaded it 2 months ago

  • anybody have the episode when Paul Lynde says "my feet are killin' me", and guns come out of his shoes and shoot him??? anxious to see it again...it's a riot!

  • i just realized something- dick york had a such a bad back that i'm surprised he took that fall on his back- does anyone know, i thought i reafd somewhere but can't seem to find any info- did he develop an addiction to painkillers while or before being on the show?

  • man i love youtube!! i found this like three months ago but i just came across it again- love how its exactly i remembered it when i was five!!

  • One of the funniest Bewitched scenes, ever!

  • Hehe! I always like Unc's laugh!

  • Hey AP,Paul Lynde was the best! As a fan of classic TV,I think he added magic(& ratings) to any show he was on(unfortunately except his own),and I miss him! BTW,the look on Paul's face afterwards is the priceless one!

  • classic uncle arthur.

  • the looks on Sam and Endora's faces are just priceless

  • Great comedy

  • Sad. The whole show was a comment on what people used to put up with to sustain a marriage. These days, you either just shack up or throw in the towel. The show wouldn't work today, because no one would fight for a marriage involving this much hassle. Somehow, we've become smaller.

  • Amen.

  • Marriage today has become a joke.

  • Did Harry Potter use this chant?

  • LOL i watched this last night,

Yaga Suzi, Yaga Suzi, Yaga Suzi Sim (Cow Bell), (Duck Whistle)

  • omg! i laugh so much when this was on! ve uncle arthur, the more the show went on the funnier he got!

rip all the cast members who are no longer with us

erin and diane murphy, david and greg lawrence and bernard fox, the only living cast members!
