Slavs couldn't develop culture that would be similar to roman culture, because of climate and fact that Slavic settlements were surrounded by forests, that were hard to clean.
Not developing Greek-like culture doesn't mean a barbarian society. Slavic people had veche (democracy) to rule them, were able to join into huge armies, had their own traditions, that would be counted as a valuable thing in modern society. For example Slavs accepted the idea, that different religions have right to exist.

romans haven't disappeared. They've just bred a lot with other peoples, thus preserving their genes in many different places. Slavs have done this too, of course, but they're still visible as an ethnic group.
That doesn't make them any stronger than the romans though... I don't hate slavic people at all, although the slavs who come here to Iceland tend to be total morons... probably cause they're mostly polish traveling workers.

erm you forgot the greeks...before rome extended their borders beyond their city, southern italy including sicily was a greek city state! whom they mingled with the locals and then romans took them over...italy was a bilingual country (latin,ancient greek) from the beginning till end of roman sovereignty....greek was still spoken till 1400 ad ;)

The best way to win on hard is to make alliances and combine all your garrisons and let the towns riot and be captured by rebels then recapture it and exterminate the populate that way you will get cash or just leave some settlements and rebuild your economy after that you should be able to start a massive war campaign against the free world

Nie całkiem, raczej Pomorzanie, Obodryci i Serbowie Łużyccy, ale to też Słowianie. Nazwa Wieleci (Weleti) pochodzi od "Wenedae".

Read books, total war isn`t any source. Some Sarmatians were defeated, some joined, like Alani, some joined Rome (like Yazyngs), that was too big group to be totally destroyed. On terrains inhibited by Wenedae there wasn`t even one Hun.

There was no more Sarmatians when Slavs appeared (supriseing?), why then so huge ethnic group wasn`t knowed before IVAD? Look around, whole east Europe to Ural is populated by Slavs (with some exceptions like Romania and Hungary). Since IV BC whole this terrain was populated by Scytho-Sarmatians and somehow after Hunns they "dissapeared" ?
Another Sarmatian tribes were: Horouatos (Croats), Serboi (Sorbs, Serbs), of course Bulgarians, Wenedae (Wends-Pommeranans) etc.
