@lordvoldemort578 Reggie is a fucking scrub...riding the bench behind a 30 something year old runningback for like 3 years...come on man. Didn't do any of this New Orleans. :'(
@MaxYouOut Nah, He isn't riding the Bench he is Just a Different type of running Back. Think of Reggie as a porsche. You use it to show off and Gain some Yards here and their, You can't expect him to do a whole lot when they only give Him the ball 5 times a game, that means he doesn't have the chance to get into a rythum
@lordvoldemort578 In that case that nigga didn't deserve to pick that high up in the draft. You wanna see a dominating rb ? watch jerome bettis ladanian tomlinson or marshall faulk in college OR NFL highlights. He lost his starting job for like 2-3 years to a 30 year old Deuce McAllister :'( :'( :'(.
ahhh i remember when everyone thought reggie was gonna be something special in the NFL. but after 5 seasons his best year has been like 500 yards and 5 td's and his stats get worse every year. he is basically a kick returner. but it is fun to watch his college highlights when he could actually produce, he just isnt pro material
@millettm768 you must not have been a CFB fan about 5/6 years ago...
Here's all the proof you need to disprove your outlandish statement:

vs. Arkansas: watch?v=-fWz8QAYfTw&feature=related
vs. Auburn: watch?v=ZH6eO6mj60Y&feature=related
This is why it's been said SO MANY times over the years (by experts & other teams fans) that USC is an SEC team playing in the wrong conference. I'm not making this up.
i mean no disrespect to the sec, BUT honestly lets keep it 100 right now....NO TEAM WAS FUCKING WITH THE TROJANS WHEN THEY WERE CLICKING LIKE THAT. yall can holler out auburn n arkansas n w/e team from the sec that u want (n im not trying take any credit from them) but for those 3 years no group made the nation sit back n go WOW like what the trojans were doin out there in LA. u gotta admit that at least
See...as I look at this film...all that reversing field stuff that Bush used to do...would not fly in the SEC. It is a fact that the SEC puts more players in the NFL than any other conference...that's not a guess...that is according to the NFL's own stats...go search for it on nfl.com.
Don't get me wrong...SC was a great team and beat some SEC teams, but I would have liked to see them play the BEST SEC team on a given year, which they never had to do...
@flizzleFlopper you're joking, right? you didn't see the ass raping USC handed out to AU, did you? hahaha USC puts more players into the NFL than any other team in the NATION...now, the Pac vs SEC? sure SEC sends more than the Pac as a whole, but your issue is with USC, & USC has ALL teams beat in that regard. fact. USC has also had to carry the PAC even to this day. Oregon is JUST now starting to pull their weight in the conference... but really, how many SEC teams have we beat? it's funny.
@flizzleFlopper It flew in the SEC when Auburn and Arkansas were getting their asses beat by USC. If the BEST SEC teams would have accepted invitations to play USC then we could have seen it, but it is a well-known fact that no SEC teams wanted to play USC after what they did to Auburn and Arkansas. I would like to see '05 USC vs. '09 Florida or '10 Alabama, personally. I don't think either of the National Champion LSU teams would have beaten SC, especially the one under Les Miles.
This was a very good backfield, but to say the BEST, I'm not tracking with that one...particularly when you consider the number of future pro prospects some of these SEC RBs have to compete against.
Imagine that Ark. had Jones and McFadden or think about Auburn with Carnell Williams, Ronnie Brown, and Brandon Jacobs. I guess you have to describe what you mean by BEST...most productive vs. true talent....I would agree that Bush and White were VERY productive.
The U definitely had the best backfield in 2001 with Willis McGahee, Frank Gore, Clinton Portis, Najeh Davenport, and Jarrett Payton. 4 future NFL players, three of them have been pro-bowlers and McGahee probably would've been one of the best in the NFL if he hadn't torn his ACL, MCL, and PCLs. They were ridiculous in college.
One of the greatest offenses in college history hands down. Leinart threw for 3,000 yards, Reggie and LenDale each ran for 1,000 and another 1,000 yard reciever? Never been done. Fuckin incredible
maybe not the best duo ever, but individually, the year reggie won the heisman remains the single most exciting individual season by a RB in quite some time...look at the freakin run against Oregon, where he backtracks 15 yards into the backfield and still scores...or of course the 513 yards against Fresno State...513 people!
Dude...not even the best your school has seen....Marcus Allen and Charles White in 79...both went on to win the Heisman(79, 81). Both saw ample play time. Best in CFB history is hands down Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas though...two NFL hall of famers being handed the ball...incredible.

Even Ingram and Richardson are better then these two.
I get chills just watching this video, brings back memories of waiting every week just to see how and by how much we will win the next time. the trojans were the rockstars of los angeles, it was such a beautiful thing. I will always remember these days lol, and im sure every team that played us will too ;)
@TreyVfromLBCisBACK,good video my nig,i'd forgotten how great they were together. And Reggie is my dude but if Carroll had kkept feeding Lendale the ball in that "game" against Texas SC would be one more Natn'l Title deeper right now.But I got faith in Lane,he will keep us stocked with 5star recruits just like Pete,he is a great off. coach & his pops will keep the D on track.Hopefully our appeal will get 1yr of bowl ban nocked off.
@tyscade Reggie was so great in college because of 1. his speed and agility 2. vision 3. strength. Once he made that leap to the NFL you cant do those same cutback moves so his vision of the holes etc had to change, and comparing his strength to the guys in the NFL he cant pull off those same moves. Most those broken tackles were because guys couldn't pull him down. Oh, and LenDale got fat...
@ATownAllDay23 Without a doubt you are correct. Najeh Davenport, Clinton Portis, Willis Mcgahee, and Frank Gore. Pretty damn impressive. 2001 Canes best college team of all team, they just had to much. 04 USC number 2. Also 94 Penn State is in the top 5
@SoCalG9 That's Tupac. The song is a remix of "How We Do" with the additions of both Eazy E and Pac. I could be wrong but I think Tupac's verse is from his song "Still Ballin"
@lowryt21 even if they played again a couple days later I would take USC to throttle Texas. USC was the better team, without a doubt. Vince Young went ballistic, played the best game he had played, or will ever play for that matter, and carried them to victory. Doesn't make it any less of a championship, they won the game, but imho, from an impartial observer USC was head and shoulders above anybody for those two years of Bush and Leinart.
They weren't called "Thunder and Lightning", but Doc Blanchard(1945 Heisman) was Mr. Inside. Glenn Davis(1946 Heisman) was Mr. Outside. Bush and White may have set the record, but Blanchard and Davis went 27-0-1 in the 3 years they started together, and BOTH won the Heisman.
Those are the facts. Do with them whatever you want.
they were dominant no doubt but best backfield in history idk bout dat becuz dey were runnin threw the pac10 which had fallen off hard while they were there
Back when USC had it clickin, FLorida and Miami and especially FSU couldn't fuck with USC...even in present times, UF is no doubt a beast..but FSU and Miami have largely lived off past glory for years now..comparing Maroney or Felix Jones college career to Reggies is just plain ridiculous...they were solid runners, but didn't quite make the people saw "wow" how Reggie did every Saturday
yea, but to the extent reggie did..i don't see it..theres a reason Bush had the NFL scouts on his nuts and was drafted 2nd while Harvin was far from picked that high
oh yea no doubt If your talkin NFL career..I was talkin purely about college...Reggie is another great college player with not much NFL success, kinda like rashaan salaam or ron dayne or eric crouch
Well, Reggie wouldn't really be considered a bust if he wasn't so injury-prone. That's all that's stopping him from being a real starting RB.
He's nowhere near as bad or disappointing as Ron Dayne :p
The next guy I'm curious about is Sam Bradford. He looks legit, but I'm curious to see how he does without the receivers he had at OU, especially at TE. The Cowboys are pretty much the only pro team I can think of with as much depth at TE as OU had, last year.
honestly i dont think Bradford should be picked high, nor do i think he will be that successful. i hope that im wrong, cause i have nuttin against him, but thats just how i feel. in terms of this year i would have to say clausen is the best qb, which pains me to say that cause as a usc fan i hate notre dame lol
I don't think Clausen is that good, myself. Maybe it's just that Notre Dame didn't surround him with much talent, or coaching, but he's just never struck me as a good QB. Bradford plays in a system where it's very hard to tell just how much of it is him making plays, and that's what I was trying to say. Tim Tebow, on the other hand, I think has the physical tools to be like Donovan McNabb, if he stays at QB, as long as he sits for a couple years, to learn an NFL offense.
@youngthizz81 I would take the 01' miami squad over 05' usc anyday, yes bush looked amazing and won the heisman but so did mcgahee who should have one the heisman. Miami's talent and depth was unfair, compare the rosters and future nfl talent and there really is no comparison.
@Baseball22KP its ironic how they both won titles, then the next year as even heavier favorites they both got upset...(ohio st over miami and tex over usc)...but yea when I was referring to Miami and FSU I meant during the USC reggie era...meaning Miami or FSU would've been rolled by USC during those years..Miami def produced better Pro's but USC seems to have this thing for having unbelievable college players who bust in the big's (mike williams, reggie, leinhart etc.
@youngthizz81 always thought miami was kinda the east coast usc, besides the longer tradition of usc they both have produced a sick ammount of talent in the league. UF & FSU dont belong in the same breath as these two programs even given UF recent success miami still has more nc's than both and hold both series leads. But reggie in college was sick even though he cheated his way off the field.
this isnt about wat niggaz are doin in the NFL, its bout wat they did in college. n in college the combo of bush/white was by far the best running back combo to grace ncaa football. it was a pleasure to watch them at usc. fight on!!!!!!
Oh yeah, I think Felix Jones and D Macfadden were better. Felix is just as good as McFadden, probably better, but the fans like McFadden more so he got to play. Felix is a MONSTER.
i say RONNIE BROWN AND CADDILLAC WILLIAMS WERE BETTER!!!! And if it wasnt for the injury they both would be concrete Starters... cant say that about White or bush.... not NFL Ready
ReckoKicker has a point, but I will Say If Bush Or white did have to play a SEC or ACC Defense They will Still put up numbers Maybe white runs wouldnt be as great against the D, but Bush speed is just as fast as guys from Florida or texas. Either one could have went to ball at any of these schools If They didnt choose USC !!!!
I havent seen all the posts, but the original "THunder and Lighning" comes from way back in the day. It was an Army team I believe. Anyway, Bush and White hold the record for most touchdowns scored by teammates. That was the Fun Fact Of The Day!
WHAT???!!! Thunder and Lightning was the TRADEMARK name of CJ Spiller and James Davis of Clemson. call whoever you want thunder and lightning, but CJ and JAmes are the real duo, the best duo, THE duo. i won't take this kind of disrespect to such tremendous athletes
i think i speak for 90% of the college football fans when i say, who the hell are CJ Spiller and James Davis. They came after Reggie Bush and Lendale White and they used the same nickname that the USC duo used first, please, Spiller and Davis are a joke compared to Bush and White
faster defenses? ok name them...who's faster than miami, florida, florida state, bama...all the speed comes from south florida my friend. bush and white were the fucking shit together, but they didn't play against the sec/acc defenses on the other coast...and dont try to argue pac 10 has better def cuz i wont even write back. case and point...UF
Arkansas? That was an SEC defense, they played SC 2 years in a row, and I think SC put up 50 one year and 70 another, also one of those year Arkansas ended up being a runner up for the SEC crown and ranked at one point inside the top 10.
And Peyton Hillis had the best hands on the team. He caught anything and everything that was thrown his way. I think he may have the best pro career if he plays for Denver the way he did last year before he got hurt. He was running the way he did as a freshman, running over people and punishing tacklers.
Felix Jones was not quite as fast but still extremely fast and had better cut back moves than Mcfadden and Peyton Hillis....I can honestly say Peyton Hillis is my favorite razorback. He was unselfish after taking the majority of the carries as a freshman in 2004 and he never complained about having minimal touches for the rest of his career and became the best blocking fullback I have ever seen in college. That Houston Nutt couldn't win an SEC championship with that backfield is just criminal...
As far as being drafted high, the Auburn tandem of Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams is the best ever.(2 and 5 respectively) As far as the best backfield goes, I think there has never been a combination of sheer speed and an unbelievable blocking fullback who also had some speed and carried the ball really well as the combination of Darren Mcfadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis at Arkansas from 2005-2007. Mcfadden actually had a faster 40 time than Reggie Bush (4.27)
Faulk, Mealey, & Collins (when he played) started the idea of a team having multiple star backs...do the research if u doubt it...GEAUX TIGERS...respect 2 the trojans
great vid!!! there are some honorable mentions (osu wit sanders/thurman) n the miami team of the early 200's...but honestly this is the best backfield in history. unlike the previous two teams, bush/white actually played together splittin carries n they put up ridiculous numbers. 98 tds is crazy!!!
How about, Edgerin James, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Najeh Davenport, Frank Gore... Edge might not have been on the team with all of em at one time, but Portis i do believe...
Maybe Leinart and the passing game had a little to do with how good they were? There's no defense running anything close to an 8-man front during that highlight. Teams had to respect Leinart's accuracy and his ability to hot route/audible at the line.
Not since that team has UCS's offense looked so balance. Our scheme could have won games in the NFL.
1:15 Holy fuckin obvious hold in front of the official by the left side receiver lol

2003 usc at auburn, usc wins 23-0
2005 usc vs arkansas usc wins 70-17
2006 usc at arkansas usc wins 50-14
since 1932 usc is 16-10-1 against every SEC opponent its played

i would put my life on usc winning that game if you were to take matt leinart and vince young out of that game and play back up QBs, would you?
lowryt21 2 years ago
@lowryt21 even if they played again a couple days later I would take USC to throttle Texas. USC was the better team, without a doubt. Vince Young went ballistic, played the best game he had played, or will ever play for that matter, and carried them to victory. Doesn't make it any less of a championship, they won the game, but imho, from an impartial observer USC was head and shoulders above anybody for those two years of Bush and Leinart.

curtistheninja 2 years ago
They weren't called "Thunder and Lightning", but Doc Blanchard(1945 Heisman) was Mr. Inside. Glenn Davis(1946 Heisman) was Mr. Outside. Bush and White may have set the record, but Blanchard and Davis went 27-0-1 in the 3 years they started together, and BOTH won the Heisman.
Those are the facts. Do with them whatever you want.
SuperSecretSquirrel 2 years ago
Doc and Blanchard also played both ways. Don't forget that :P

@TheOutlaw06 Best individual performance ever would probably be when David Klingler threw for 11 touchdown passes in one game...

Not a shot in the world, I don't even think they could have beat the 06 Trojans OR Longhorns.
PHawthorne84 2 years ago
Back when USC had it clickin, FLorida and Miami and especially FSU couldn't fuck with USC...even in present times, UF is no doubt a beast..but FSU and Miami have largely lived off past glory for years now..comparing Maroney or Felix Jones college career to Reggies is just plain ridiculous...they were solid runners, but didn't quite make the people saw "wow" how Reggie did every Saturday
youngthizz81 2 years ago 9
I'd say Percy Harvin managed that, when he played college ball.
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
yea, but to the extent reggie did..i don't see it..theres a reason Bush had the NFL scouts on his nuts and was drafted 2nd while Harvin was far from picked that high
youngthizz81 2 years ago
Except Harvin's already on his way to being a more legitimate player at WR than Bush is at RB :S
Maybe he's not as fast, or elusive, but at least Harvin won't run from contact.
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
oh yea no doubt If your talkin NFL career..I was talkin purely about college...Reggie is another great college player with not much NFL success, kinda like rashaan salaam or ron dayne or eric crouch
youngthizz81 2 years ago
Well, Reggie wouldn't really be considered a bust if he wasn't so injury-prone. That's all that's stopping him from being a real starting RB.
He's nowhere near as bad or disappointing as Ron Dayne :p
The next guy I'm curious about is Sam Bradford. He looks legit, but I'm curious to see how he does without the receivers he had at OU, especially at TE. The Cowboys are pretty much the only pro team I can think of with as much depth at TE as OU had, last year.
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
@ChargersLVII
honestly i dont think Bradford should be picked high, nor do i think he will be that successful. i hope that im wrong, cause i have nuttin against him, but thats just how i feel. in terms of this year i would have to say clausen is the best qb, which pains me to say that cause as a usc fan i hate notre dame lol
thecommission19 2 years ago
I don't think Clausen is that good, myself. Maybe it's just that Notre Dame didn't surround him with much talent, or coaching, but he's just never struck me as a good QB. Bradford plays in a system where it's very hard to tell just how much of it is him making plays, and that's what I was trying to say. Tim Tebow, on the other hand, I think has the physical tools to be like Donovan McNabb, if he stays at QB, as long as he sits for a couple years, to learn an NFL offense.
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
I agree with everything except the Clausen statement, i think he will be a pretty good qb in the league.
BayonneRB 1 year ago
@youngthizz81 I would take the 01' miami squad over 05' usc anyday, yes bush looked amazing and won the heisman but so did mcgahee who should have one the heisman. Miami's talent and depth was unfair, compare the rosters and future nfl talent and there really is no comparison.
Baseball22KP 1 year ago

But reggie in college was sick even though he cheated his way off the field.

this isnt about wat niggaz are doin in the NFL, its bout wat they did in college. n in college the combo of bush/white was by far the best running back combo to grace ncaa football. it was a pleasure to watch them at usc. fight on!!!!!!
thecommission19 2 years ago
Oh yeah, I think Felix Jones and D Macfadden were better. Felix is just as good as McFadden, probably better, but the fans like McFadden more so he got to play. Felix is a MONSTER.
SaMiAm702 2 years ago
Reggie Bush is a fucking BUST!!!! He can't run the ball in the NFL. I don't think he's had over two 100 yard games in the NFL.... bust.
SaMiAm702 2 years ago
i say RONNIE BROWN AND CADDILLAC WILLIAMS WERE BETTER!!!! And if it wasnt for the injury they both would be concrete Starters... cant say that about White or bush.... not NFL Ready
bezzie87 2 years ago

Bush and White: 2 National Titles, 1 Heisman, Both combined to score a total of 108 TD's, played faster defenses.
Spiller and Davis: overhype by Espn
Clemson doesn't have a prayer in this argument
EBAMF24 2 years ago 2
faster defenses? ok name them...who's faster than miami, florida, florida state, bama...all the speed comes from south florida my friend. bush and white were the fucking shit together, but they didn't play against the sec/acc defenses on the other coast...and dont try to argue pac 10 has better def cuz i wont even write back. case and point...UF
reckokicker 2 years ago
Arkansas? That was an SEC defense, they played SC 2 years in a row, and I think SC put up 50 one year and 70 another, also one of those year Arkansas ended up being a runner up for the SEC crown and ranked at one point inside the top 10.
PHawthorne84 2 years ago

And Peyton Hillis had the best hands on the team. He caught anything and everything that was thrown his way. I think he may have the best pro career if he plays for Denver the way he did last year before he got hurt. He was running the way he did as a freshman, running over people and punishing tacklers.
vihockeyguy1 2 years ago
Felix Jones was not quite as fast but still extremely fast and had better cut back moves than Mcfadden and Peyton Hillis....I can honestly say Peyton Hillis is my favorite razorback. He was unselfish after taking the majority of the carries as a freshman in 2004 and he never complained about having minimal touches for the rest of his career and became the best blocking fullback I have ever seen in college. That Houston Nutt couldn't win an SEC championship with that backfield is just criminal...
vihockeyguy1 2 years ago
As far as being drafted high, the Auburn tandem of Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams is the best ever.(2 and 5 respectively) As far as the best backfield goes, I think there has never been a combination of sheer speed and an unbelievable blocking fullback who also had some speed and carried the ball really well as the combination of Darren Mcfadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis at Arkansas from 2005-2007. Mcfadden actually had a faster 40 time than Reggie Bush (4.27)

great vid!!! there are some honorable mentions (osu wit sanders/thurman) n the miami team of the early 200's...but honestly this is the best backfield in history. unlike the previous two teams, bush/white actually played together splittin carries n they put up ridiculous numbers. 98 tds is crazy!!!

aubiesucks12 2 years ago
Maybe Leinart and the passing game had a little to do with how good they were? There's no defense running anything close to an 8-man front during that highlight. Teams had to respect Leinart's accuracy and his ability to hot route/audible at the line.
Not since that team has UCS's offense looked so balance. Our scheme could have won games in the NFL.
