Comment from HSUS "The elk hunt took place at a 16,000 acre private ranch for trophy hunts. Although the primitive weapons used in the episode were not legal to take big game in Colorado, no Colorado game laws were violated in this hunt since the animals were not part of game managed by the state."
@mjw789234 Hey asshole, you say that they were crying over an elk? Im sure you would have done the same thing watching an innocent, living thing suffer and slowly die. Im a hunter, and its a very emotional experience seeing an animal bleed out and suffer. I have as much respect for animals almost as I do people, and if you don't respect God's beautiful living creatures, you can go burn in hell!
@wendyXpeggyXpancho it's actually a very interesting experiment done with 10 people... they all live with the tools that they did as cavemen and nothing more. They hunted this elk (with caveman weapons) after days of having little to no food to eat.
@wendyXpeggyXpancho you really should watch the entire episode. I, myself, am a vegetarian (was vegan for years until I couldn't afford it) and respect animals more than most people.
I am severely opposed to hunting and am sickened that so many people in my area (Wisconsin) engage in murder for sport and train their children to think it is "ok".
However, this episode shows exactly what hunting SHOULD be done for. The ONLY way/circumstance.
Give the whole thing a chance. It's very worth it.
@Mandama004 Except the cameraman had a snickers bar in his pocket. Hunting occurred near the end of paleolithic times. Humans were opportunistic scavengers. This entire show was disgusting and far from accurate.
@frankenfoamy yeah, the more I watched this show, the more I realized it was all bullshit.
You know the guy who freaks out and goes home to bone his girlfriend? He's also in the drug one playing the cocaine addict. Also, in the "evil" episode, the woman who stands up to the tests is an actress.
There is no way a bunch of wanna-be TV cavemen got that close to a herd of truly wild elk on open ground. Reality TV is about as real as pro wrestling.
A quote from a friend. I couldn't say it better byself.
@MasterNick86 if you watched the entire episode, someone came in and showed them how to use that weapon. When he actually hit the elk, he was standing a great distance away. They were spread out and moving at a slow pace in order to keep them from running.
You truly should watch the whole episode. There was more than once that the herds did run from them... until they realized what they were doing wrong.
@oooodin They showed like 10 of them in the acual program most of which were utter failures. This kill was made by a very well placed/lucky shot with their spear thingies to the elks neck.

All hunting was carried out according to state and federal laws? If you want to live like caveman, then do real hunting

I hate how everyone cries over killing it later at camp...modern life has tarnished everyone's concept of the hunt...

First, Wow, using primitive tools to take down that elk is pretty impressive. I just hope they can keep the meat from spoiling.
