You say that "soviets and germans" were famous for their brutality toward captured soldiers, but guess what, at least 2.5 million (55%) Soviets perished in nazi captivity, while 500 thousand (15%) Axis perished in Soviet captivity. The levels of brutality are quite different,especially considering that Axis personell was held in captivity for a longer time.

Of course it wasn't all Russia, but 7 out of 8 Germans and their European allies were killed by the Soviets. Plus about a 1/4 of Japanese were taken out by the USSR as well. The allied supplies were important, but certainly not decisive, and started to make a difference in 1944.

There was a difference. 90% of German and Axis European forces were fighting against Soviets and remaining 10% against Britain, America etc.
Also American and British territory never was invaded the way Russian territory was. 17 millions of civilians died becouse of German invasion.

The fallen in the war of 1904-1905 were avenged in 1938, 1939 and 1945. The lands taken from Russia by Japan were returned. When a man turns down his arms and is killed it's often a war crime, but it is NOT genocide. You say that "soviets and germans" were famous for their brutality toward captured soldiers, but guess what, at least 2.5 million (55%) Soviets perished in nazi captivity, while 500 thousand (15%) Axis perished in Soviet captivity. The levels of brutality are quite different,especially considering that Axis personell was held in captivity for a longer time.

The term genocide is used so often it has lost all meaning. How many civilians were killed by RA? As for POW's executions, while it is despeakable, it is NOT genocide. Prewar population of Poland was circa 35 millions, while 25 thousand POW's were executed. This constitutes 0.07% of the Polish population. Basically, your mistake is that you assume that genocide and mass murder are the same.

Pre-war population of Poland was 21 million. About 22.000 POW's were executed only in Katyn massacre. Polish POW deaths totaled 250.000. In Germany (120.000) and in the USSR (130.000).

Russian history has fascinated me from young age with it's richness, it's triumphs and it's tragedies. Of course Soviet contribution in defeating nazis was decisive. It's obvious and I'm grateful for it. Poland lost over 22% citizens in ww2(most of them was Polish Jews), Poles fought against nazis from September'39 till May'45, but your propaganda always used to minimize our contribution.

After the Polish-Soviet war more Soviet POWs died in Polish captivity than Polish POWs in Soviet captivity during WW2.

All armies kill civilians, sometimes intentionally. On 24.09.39 in the village of Grabowiec Soviets murdered 42 members and patients of a Polish military hospital. After Polish victory at the battle of Szack(28.09.39)the Soviets executed 500 Polish officers they captured. After the end of Polish campaign, Soviet-German collaboration continued.

26.01.1934 von Neurath and Lipski signed nonaggression declaration valid for 10 years. There wasn't any word about borders in it. In January 1935 Herman Goering proposed to strike USSR by both Poland and 3rd Reich, but Pilsudski rejected. Germans repeated this proposal many times.

Poland shame in 1938, Czech shame in w 1919. To be fair for both sides - if not Hitler in '38 as document of Polish-Czech notes said there was compromise -that said mostly Czech notes.
In my opinion - that terrain was Polish if we take population but for good relations we should give coal mines to Czech. Read about international background and elements of that conflict - it is very interesting material.

There were military parades jointly German and Soviet Army in Brest and Lvov after defeating Poland in autumn'39. After 2 years Germans striked USSR.

Yes, it's true. III Reich and Slovakia invaded Poland 01.09.1939 and 17 days later Soviet Union striked from east. Forlorn Poland fought 35 days till 05.10.1939 and lost. From 1940 Polish soldiers fought together with western allies and from 1943 also together with Red Army.

I believe that the essence of communism contradicts with human nature. Nonetheless, I do admire the Russian people for their great courage and sacrifices in spite of the fact that the Red Army committed innumerable atrocities against the German and the Japanese civilians. This something you have been told in school. I am sorry, but human nature has very little to do with it. And there is actually never been communism anywhere in the world. And I am not so sure about those atrocities against Japanese civilians.

well i thank the russians, but they sorta started it anyways, and the US and britain gave the USSR resources so it not like it was all russia. andi think communism speaks for its self, here i'll spin off some numbers...china-50 million dead, USSR 13 million dead (stalin), 1.7 million cambodia (pol pot), 1.6 million north korea (kim ill sung),Afghanistan 1 million (USSR invasion), russia 30,000 (lenin), and cuba 30,000 (fidel castro)...yep communism call my name...

it wasn't known as capitalism then, and over 100 million dead in less than 100 years. the ratio is mach more extream. and since capitalism has been more dominant since the dawn of humanity, there of corse is more opritunity for genocde.

Of course it wasn't all Russia, but 7 out of 8 Germans and their European allies were killed by the Soviets. Plus about a 1/4 of Japanese were taken out by the USSR as well. The allied supplies were important, but certainly not decisive, and started to make a difference in 1944.

Very very nice video. I am afraid life is and was not fair, also not to the winners of this war. The Soviet nations lost so many people during this war, before and after just to see that all this blood was for nothing.

nonetheless it were the Soviets who took Berlin, it were the Soviets who fought the majority of German army and it were the Soviets who paid the price for western hesitation. The Soviets are not honored enough for their triumph and sacrifice. Glory to the fallen!
