these guys were already individually better than many musicians that came after them, and as a group, they surpassed anything any band of any style of music ever dreamed of being or becoming!!!!!

It's sick how good these guys were as a group. There may be (or has been) a better individual guitarist, bassist, drummer and lead singer in other bands, but nothing comes close to Zeppelin as a group. It's pretty rare to have a band made up entirely of guys who would be considered top 5 in their respective area.

1 day about 11 yrs. ago, it rained 4.5 in. within an hours time. The water levels of the creek in my front yard started to rise all the way up to the steps. Confirmed: drums were recorded at "Headley Grange Mansion" in the stairwell. They created a huge sound. Jimmy talk's about in the movie "It might get Loud". Thank you DrxGonz0 for pointing that out.

I heard that they recorded the drums at the bottom of a staircase in a mansion and suspended the microphones. I think that was from the book hammer of the gods. great drum sound whatever they did.
