  • Twelve years of my life and I never put a song through my head that's this good

  • If I was standing on the edge of a gigantic cliff and all of society and civilisation was collapsing before and around me, and if I was given the choice of having one song played at an astronomical volume all around me as I was swallowed up and died along with all we know, it would be this song!

  • I see you talking about Sucker Punch...What you should be talking about is "Headley Grange "

    LEARN!!!!!

  • I keep seeing the movie Sucker Punch...you should be looking up is " Headley Grange " LEARN!!!!!

  • how could anyone who clicked on zepplin hate this song!

  • 1 day and about 11 years ago my mom got scared. She said "you're moving with your auntie and uncle in bell air."

  • @NotHenryMarkum ahahaha nice.

  • I always liked the little lick at the end of this song, lots of reverb too

  • 0:00 - 7:09 (drumgasm) 5:26 - 5:29 (height of my drumgasm)

  • these guys were already individually better than many musicians that came after them, and as a group, they surpassed anything any band of any style of music ever dreamed of being or becoming!!!!!

  • It's sick how good these guys were as a group. There may be (or has been) a better individual guitarist, bassist, drummer and lead singer in other bands, but nothing comes close to Zeppelin as a group. It's pretty rare to have a band made up entirely of guys who would be considered top 5 in their respective area.

    Bow before the Zeppelin!

(Man, I was born in the wrong decade...)

  • @tsbproject i feel you man i was born on 90 the start of the decade to the decline in music....

  • i had a drumgasm

  • People who comment about Sucker Punch, Justin Bieber, and bands discovered on YouTube have no understanding of the eternal epic awesomeness that this song imparts on their brains and spirits.

  • @addictedtotoads lol if you didn't know....this band was already famous...and will be for a LOOOONG time to come xD...and no...if they advertise on youtube, they don't know anything about the music industry or got all of their demo reels rejected :3

  • It's a shame bands like this aren't made anymore, and we're left with... POP music.

  • @Khornebrzrkr1 .. wolfmother

  • @Khornebrzrkr1 Look up Rival Sons... they sound like a Led Zeppelin ripoff and they are new

  • This is probably like my favorite Zeppelin song!

  • in the movie, It Might Get Loud it show where they got that amazing drum sound

  • 1 day about 11 yrs. ago, it rained 4.5 in. within an hours time. The water levels of the creek in my front yard started to rise all the way up to the steps. There was a 3 ft. swell above my neighbors 4 ft. fence. I ran inside & put this song on my cd player, & moments later the water started receding away from my front porch!!!

  • drum line is a killer in here!

  • another great masterpiece from the best rock band ever!

  • Epic legendary Gods. 'Nuff said

  • The Beastie Boys made this into a better song!

  • @cheapcape Now my only legitimate complaint is...Why in the hell did you take the time out of your day to type in the "Search Box" "Led Zeppelin- When the levee breaks" just to say that "Beastie boys made this into a better song....just why?!

Why not go to the "Search Box" And comment that on a beastie boys song?...Not trying to insult you or nothing like that.

I have respect for music geeks like myself...ok?

  • @cheapcape You know the Beastie Boys were a Literal joke band, they were meant and made as a Joke...

  • Led Zeppelin is freaking amazing!!!!!!! XD

  • Thumbs up if you knew about this song before the Sucker Punch trailer.

  • @rawADAMkills

this top comment make me want to puke

it shows how ignorant is this world

  • @rawADAMkills Thumbs up if the fact that you're asking that question right now means that you hadn't.

  • @rawADAMkills that movie is not worthy of this song!

  • if anyone got this song from the sucker punch trailer then god help them.

  • The drums were recorded in the bottom of the staircase at Jimmy Page's place at Bron-yr-Aur, as per the DVD.

  • @mrdan7121 EHHHHH......... oh opinions and flame wars. go together like peanut butter n jelly, don't ya think? ;)

  • @mrdan7121 i dont agree, but in the end who cares, cause Floyd trumps them all. SHINE ON

  • 1 person has realy bad aim

  • This songs varies dramatically from the original but I can hear the rough inspiration when I listen to that ole tune

  • THis song was in SuckerPunch.

Is that a good or bad thing for Led?

  • led zeppelin are like literally gods they came down from the heaven's to deliver a beautiful message to humanity

  • who disliked this?!!!!!

  • i know it's tasteless but this song reminds me of lil wayne hahah

  • Best drums ever. R.I.P Bonham.

  • Confirmed: drums were recorded at "Headley Grange Mansion" in the stairwell. They created a huge sound. Jimmy talk's about in the movie "It might get Loud". Thank you DrxGonz0 for pointing that out.

  • I heard that they recorded the drums at the bottom of a staircase in a mansion and suspended the microphones. I think that was from the book hammer of the gods. great drum sound whatever they did.

  • @MrTaylorguy1 Thanks for the info.

  • @MrTaylorguy1 watch the movie "It might get loud" Jimmy Paige shows the house they did it in and explains it

  • @MrTaylorguy1 Hey, from what I know,

John Bonham recorded this in an old Castle in Europe,

But again you could very well be correct, just sayin'.-KB

  • @MrTaylorguy1 yeah they did, and if u see the movie It Might Get Loud, Jimmy goes to the house where they recorded the drums for this song. it was pretty awesome

  • @MrTaylorguy1

I heard (or perhaps read?) that they recorded this whole song in about 3 or 4 takes in the back of a truck somewhere. Hence the great drum sound...

  • @MrTaylorguy1 yeah they also had the other band members on different floors of the mansion

  • @MrTaylorguy1 yea that's exactly what they did, and it was from hammer of the gods

  • @MrTaylorguy1 hammer of the Gods was an awesome book

  • @MrTaylorguy1 great book!

  • @MrTaylorguy1 Bottom of an empty swimming pool with suspended microphones. Bonham liked to practice there because of the sound and "feel". The rest of the band figured why not just record it....

  • kewl

  • Ive never been a huge zep fan

took the Pink Floyd road myself

but i must admit this is amazing

    those drums

  • @turtelyturtleclub there both great band's though I my self like Pink Floyd better than Led Zep but still there both some of the best artists in decades.

  • @turtelyturtleclub i took both roads

  • Why do i have a feeling that this song will be used in a Hurricane Katrina document?

  • @hameed

Because it's obvious and it fits.

  • @dignan3 The levee already broke XD

  • @hameed cuz u gay

  • @hameed realy? i would think they would use it in a documentary for the flooding in louisiana (and else where in the south) after all, they broke the levee.

  • @tonganslop69 watch loudcryprophecies video on nwo's agenda 21 and the flooding of america. It really is happening on purpose you know, but you want hear that on news. Its probably to kill our food supply. Not katrina though, that was for other reasons. Flooded field, no crops. So we depend then on monsanto? :D

  • why do I have a feeling it was definatly used in a Hurricane Katrina song.

  • @hameed to soon?

  • @hameed A Perfect Circle covered this song on an album just before Katrina. Creepy.

  • @hameed no, they used Katrina & the Waves' 'Walking on Sunshine'.

  • @hameed Nice assumption.

  • @hameed fuck you kid. Get your own material

  • It is that drums and harmonica that made this song is awesome, especially when the harmonica is "howling."

  • its got what it takes for a mountain man to leave his home !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Song.
