  • Munster don't really have much to shout about these days - hence the silence

  • @dflynn1989 Don't be Silly

  • Ahh the dreaded Munster silence, anyone at the 2006 Sale qualifying match in old thomond would remember how the excitement could be barely held in during the silences.

  • wow some real crybabys here. Chip on the shoulder perhaps?

  • If he could, a Munster fan would teabag himself while wearing the Munster jersey with pride and pashun and then post a video of it showing everybody else how much pride and pashun he had.

Munster's obsession with themselves is SO gay.

  • @mucbeag your from lienster im guessin .. just cuz ye dont have a place like thomand

  • @mucbeag passion you downer

  • im sorry boys but this hole arguement is stupid. Youve probably noticed im an ulster fan. i go to ravenhill every home game with out fail. But u munster boys are no better. Ive been to thomond park and to be honest i couldnt hear much cheering when ulster where beating you. a true supporter stands in the pissing rain and cheers his side on right til the 80th

  • this a munster tradition why are other teams trying it

  • Its time munster fans climbed out of their own asses. What were you people doing in Edinburgh, wearing fucking Munster jerseys!!!!!! AAAAGH it makes me so ANGRY!!

  • um....alot of munster fans bought tickets to the final in hope that their team would get to edinburgh, thats why they were there

  • Because in fairness u'd expect munster to be there before the ladyboys

  • The silence is hardly famous munster fans always go silent for a kick XD

  • None of them are a patch on the thomond silence.none.and im not even from munster.

  • Bollocks. They're happy enough to heckle when travelling.

  • john conlan,

why do you think you are the dogs b....xs quite a few people have been watching Munster for a long number of years, yet do not feel the need to rant about it. Be quiet untill u have something costuctive to say

  • Never said I thought I was the dogs bollox, simply making a point.

  • munster fans are in love with themselves. they all crawled out of the woodwork in the last 8 years. where were they all in the nineties?

  • Same place they are now u tit.. speak for your own crowd

  • i very much doubt it. munster fans are all johnny come latelys.

they are in love with themselves.

  • True True True, I find the blokes who wear a munster jersey generally own a Man U, Chelsea or Liverpool jersey aswell. Obviously they have their original and loyal followers but they have more fair weather supporters than any other province in Ireland.

  • erm they do that at every ground

  • no they dont

  • its a tradition in thomond park for the crowd to be silent for every kick at goal and we try do it at every match home or away

  • what were they being silent for?

  • Because they have respect for the opposition kicker...tey dont want to distract him!!

  • Munster supporters are wicked. You'd never get a disciplined respect like that outta aussies. Drunk idiots.

  • Guess lightening doesn't strike twice..

  • As a proud Lancastrian and Englishman , I have the utmost respect for Munster's players and supporters .

  • ty for Ur respect now we go kick ur ass 100-0 common Munster we can beat the all blacks we can unprove that lighting never strikes twice rember 1978 12-0 to Munster

  • this man show his respect 2 munster and u shove it back in his face...thats not the munster spirit mate!!

  • i have to agree whats the guy on about!!

  • Yeah, I'm sure you remember 1978. Being as you're about 14 years old.

  • The respect is Mutual my friend!!

  • You can say that again Moconne1234. Wait, ill say it for you ''munster supporters are the most respectful loyal and are defo the loudest in the world!!

  • munster supporters are the most respectful loyal and are defo the loudest in the world!!

  • *sigh*

How come Munster only started attracting more than five men and a dog in the last ten years so? Interpros used to only be attended by a couple of hundred fans at best until the late 90's. What Munster have done in the last ten years is fantastic but people talk about them as if they have a tradition and legion of fans that has existed for decades when in fact they've only been followed in any decent numbers in the last ten years, similar to Leinster.

  • Point? I wouldnt expect you to be from munter then, if you were from munster you would know the true meaning of the support that munster have, you have probably not experienced a game in thomond park, its mind blowing and you obviously have no clue what your talking about, it doesnt matter if the people of munster started following the team yesterday its still an amazing province of rugby and blows any other team with support like that out of the water! Get it right!

  • My point? Reread my post and you'll see my point. My Dad brought me to an interpro between Leinster and Munster sometime around 97/98 when I was a kid, the place was half empty and there wasn't much of an atmosphere. I've been down there to a few interpros in the last few years and there was a good atmosphere. No better than Ravenhill or the RDS though, Munsterfans have this idea that they're somehow special because they support their team to the ends of the earth.....

  • yet they were leaving in huge numbers last week in the RDS and in May when they were being hammered around the pitch by Leinster. They're no different to any other teams in Ireland, this whole "passion and honesty" thing is just their marketing department and they're doing very well out of it, fair play to them. No more passionate than fans in Leinster or Ulster. In fact I've particular respect for the Ulster fans as they turn out in large numbers to follow a team not doing so well.

  • Dead right. The whole "hollier than thou" attitude with which munster fans carry themselves is based on very shaky foundations. Its has really been exposed over the last year when the team hasnt been doing so well. If everyone who claims to have been there in 1978 actually was, thomond park would be the size of limerick.
