I just bought a 76 Chrysler Newport this summer from the original owner. Poor thing had a rotted from, almost lost her to a fire when they were welding a new one on cause some mice made a nest in it.
Got it all fixed up, though. Still has the original paint, motor, interior, everything. Few places needed body work, but at twenty I'm proud to be the youngest guy at the car shows. :)
i would love to have seen these cars in their prime, if all these cars could be restored and drive through downtown i'd imagine all the old timers would be proud!
unfortunately you can't save them all. If I had the resources I would get a bunch of like minded people together and form some kind of task force to save the oldies lmao.
man. there is a junkyard just north of me, this spring i plan to find out who owns the land there are over 100 pre 1970 cars that are ALL almost perfect as far as the body. except a little rust.

America has some of the most beautiful classic cars with regards to the 50's, 60's and some of the 70's. Its such a shame that the 80's, 90's and up until recent years produced such lame, boring and uninspiring vehicles in general. Id love a 60's mustang or 70's challanger however id look a bit of a tool seen as I live in the UK and the price of fuel over here.
It's sad to think of these cars rolling off the assembly line thinking (as cars tend to do) that they've got all these killer body styles, power out the butt, tons of cool options etc, they're ready for a great car life and what's the result?? They're sittin' on someguys property as decorations?? I think a revolt is in order here folks.....round these dudes up, offer them a reasonable price, if they decline, sorry, we're takin' it. You ain't usin' it, your it your done abusin' it. Thank you.
i wish i could save some of these cars. i did save a '67 buick skylark that my brother left rotting away outside. it had to face some harsh minnesota winters, but she's inside now and waiting for me to drop in a new motor. i hope everybody on here can do something to help save these beautiful old cars.

To me this is like save the children comercials,,we need a big Burl Ives looking dude asking people to send money to save these pore cars, for only 90 cents a day you can sponsor one of these cars and save it from it miserable conditions
if i did that to my car i would at least give it a good sending off placed in a barn or in a house and then pet it on the bonnet (hood) and say goodbye maybe in 50 years time come back and fire it up and take it for a drive
@sirmugman To me this is like save the children comercials,,we need a big Burl Ives looking dude asking people to send money to save these pore cars, for only 90 cents a day you can sponsor one of these cars and save it from it miserable conditions
I would love to see someone start a company which gathers up these old junkers and refits them for service again. Some of these moldy oldies really could be restored, if someone were interested in doing it.
I know my dad keeps this old '36 Pontiac in his garage. We'd been talking about getting it back on the road for the longest time, but it's WAY beyond our means now. So there it sits, gathering dust and falling into a rust-heap...
@ClonecommanderTedi yeah dude they are every where there are lots of cars forgotten in peoples backyards and sitting in feilds and some in junk yards. so many savable ones two
i saw a field with probally 100 s of old cars like this in alberta....here in nl the salt on the winter roads plus the moisture from the ocean eat cars.
one more year and i drive. one more year and another one of these beauties go back onto the road and back into the harts of many. IN WITH THE OLD OUT WITH THE NEW!!! SAVE THE CLASSICS!!!
Yeah, this is a sad sight; but if anyone is interested; I might have the resources to find these old ladies so some of you guys can possibly purchase and save a couple or few. these ladies belong on the street and a caring owner's garage!
@mongo5888 Ok, Im doing my research now; I'll let you know what I come up with. I also ride around pretty much all over the USA to obtain parts and you be amazed of some of the things I've seen!
@cooperray76 I am, these "ladies" as you call them are a treasure to our nation's past, so sad to just let them dead all alone. Please contact me, thank you. Be blessed.
@cooperray76 this is how the old school cars would like to live the rest of there days in peace with there other friends and family which made this country what it is today...... as for new vehicles they deserve to be crushed and barried to make prisoners cups fkn scrap heap new plastic as vehicles
If i established a company for the soul purpose of retoring these classics and giving them back to the public how many of you would be interested in helping?
Im crying too amigo! cause here in "Canada" our car dont last very long with all the "SALT" they use in the street for the winter... let say about 10 years at the most without rust and most of the time they rust b4 that!
@einsikallin To me this is like save the children comercials,,we need a big Burl Ives looking dude asking people to send money to save these pore cars, for only 90 cents a day you can sponsor one of these cars and save it from it miserable conditions

Great vid! SO SAD! I was so sad when the Mustangs where on! Especially the '65-'66 coup. If it was a '66 that car has a special place in my heart because my dad has a red and white '66 fastback cobra. She's not driven that much any more and it makes me so sad when my dad thinks of selling it. He's had that car since befor I was born.
@84Bronco351 2 resions 1 custom cars turning them into hot rods or just custom making them and two demliontoin derby's ppl will let you photo them and video them but there not for sale parts maybe but not the whole thing plus it might have been in the family since there where a kid how'd you like that the car you knew from a kid destroyed in about 5 mins or turned into something that looks nothing like it did back in the day?
my god.... I live in Russia and I can buy a good Cadillac Eldorado in USA, but can't import this beauty here cause of very high duty on 7L engine. Such a shit :-(
Many a lazy Saturday afternoons wrenching on old Iron. Seams a part of us is lost to them when they go. Maybe thats why a video such as this tugs at our gearhead souls. My hands are itching to restore some of these.
The thing that makes seeing these cars, rotting in pastures and forsests. Is when you look at many of them with the big chrome bumpers. and still see the areas still gleeming in the light. or sparkling. ot makes them look like they are not ready to leave the earth without a fight. that is why i am happy that I am 15, and i have a 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark 4, and a 1974 Mercury Montego MX Brougham to do complete restorations on. make em all original, none of that pimp my ride bullshit.
It maybe illegal to take them and restore them unless you talk to the owner. And if it's impossable to find the owner, how would he find out you saved one of the classics?
