mate are you out of your cotton picking mind??? thats a shit skimmer if ever i saw one unless you are doing somthing wrong there becuase if you think thats a lot of gunk then you need your head read.

Theres nothing wrong with it,it had just broke in so you never seen how much gunk it can pull out

I've just bought the DG-1516 skimmer (hanging version) which is very similar to yours. This is my first skimmer for my first tank.

I found a small hole under the collection cup, do you know what is the function of it?

The water come to the collection cup when tried to set the water level. In this time, the water leak from that small hole.

Please tell me what is the correct setting of that small hole under the collection cup.

I have another skimmer with a small hole in it,its meant to have a small tube fitted to it to let the skimmate waste run into a bottle,and stop the cup filling up to fast

Hi, I have just bought the DG-2516 version of your skimmer which is very simular, its only been running for 3 days and nothing as yet , but i was wondering how much air to let into it . Any ideas ????????

Hi

Open the Air valve full. Then just turn it down a little. 3 days is not that long. I would say it needs a week to break in fully

"6 days with better lighting" What did you change from-too? i take it in the display not the sump lighting too...?

I just ment that i used better lighting for filming the Skimmer.

Yes it did. But there not that bad and my bubble trap in my sumps stops them getting in to the tank. Most Skimmers seem to make micro bubbles
