I always wondered why with a genius producer like George Martin at the helm, The beatles version was aloud to see the light of day with that serious over-modulation issue. Now I see that was an intentional move to sound like the original.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS ( music, voices, all). As says joeo 78501, so good as Besame Mucho, perhaps better for me, it is a question of..taste! Maravellous sounds to enjoy us( my english is not terrible, i am french).

Played this a lot as a nipper in the 70's (one of my mums old 45's) long since lost the disc more's the pity - don't suppose you have the original to upload the 'B' side - 'The Old cathedral'?
Writen by Bobby Scott & Ric Marlow. The Beatles recorded this, as well as Besame Mucho on their first recordings. Can you believe John and Paul's eclectic taste!
@tristianity4u Yeah you can see why Paul was attracted to that clear voice because he sounds kind of like him. Really beautiful voice Welch has and I think Paul sounds great on his version too.
This one is the first vocal version of the song right?

They did it in Hamburg, pre-Epstein.
