I LOOOOVE marmite, but for most people if you weren't raised on it its very much an acquired taste.

Kiwi's are usually raised with marmite, while Aussies are raised on vegemite.

They are both a similar product but marmite has a stronger taste, while vegemite is saltier.

Why do americans try marmite or vegemite on a spoon for the first time? It's better on a piece of toast or cracker with butter (or marg) then a thin layer of it on top. I love marmite & cheese sandwiches: I butter my bread, spread some marmite and then add slices of cheese....its nice when I feel like something savoury. =)

You're a wuss if you can't try Marmite. I'm an American by God and I think it's pretty tasty. All of that wincing is just for the cameras. Try it on a simple cheese sandwich. It's a strong, potent flavor, like eating a bouillon cube but it's actually very healthy with tons of B vitamins. You don't have to like it but you're definitely a pussy if you won't even try it.
