This song is amazing and sad. It's about Lacey and her mother. Her mother verbally abused her (from what I've been told) After awhile her mother forced her to move out. Then she lived with her grandparents. She started having nervous breakdowns and considered suicide. But her grandma took her to a church, and that's why she's religious now. Sounds like a good reason to me :)

She mentioned briefly in interviews that there was a LOT of verbal abuse, and hinted at some physical abuse too from what I can tell. also her wiki page mentions something about it though I can't remember what. The song is also about how, to deal with the stress an depression, she turned to drugs at age ten.
