Hi Iv look at you video and I will be watching more, but can you tell me how to change the bullet points and the sign up free message on the home page! Cnt get my head round it thanks
Help please.. So as the video goes, I can go "components" > "Jomsocial" > "configuration" >>>>>>> But then non of the tabs work. When I click on them nothing happens? Any ideas would be much appreciated.
@ijoomla And that's why you shouldn't discourage people from trying. All Joomla users profit when more people understand and experiment with the core package.
If the question of creating your own template ever even crossed your mind, you should try it. Maybe you'll hate it , or maybe you'll come up with the greatest template ever. Either way, you won't know till you try.
Oh, and of course, back up your site before you start.
I am new to Jomsocial. But i believe it's possible to customise the templates using an override folder. So, if you know css and xhtml, it should be quite easy to modify even the default template to look just like your joomla theme. The fonts and styles are inhereited anyway - but not the background images and layout.
Yes, you can but why would you? It's much better to use a professional template and modify it. It will be bug-less and it will take you much less time.
@ijoomla Bug-less? That's funny. Going on about 5 years now with Joomla, and I can assure you there is no such thing as a bug-less template, even when you pay for them. But designing your own templates is a great way to learn where to look for the bugs. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about Joomla.
Thank you for your JomSocial tutorials. I have just started JomSocial myself. I really want to learn how to create my very own template and change the layout of the entire website. Is this possible? Do you know how it's done?

Works now with js 2.2 & joomla 1.6. I do think a lot more videos for beginners would be so helpful. Keep up the good work :-)

@danviers, it's great if you're up for it, but not everybody wants to or can create their own templates :-)

Thanks for the video. I Have a question. How can I change the join us, is free image so that it says somethings like join the network!

@andrescuervo @andrescuervo To change the the join us, u gonna have to access the language file.
login to your file manager at your cpanel, or use a ftp.:
"/public_html/language/en-GB"
open the file "en-GB.com_community.ini" (maybe yours is "en-GB.ini"), press contrl + F to find the line, and type in the box Join us,
You sure gonna find it. Alter.
After that, save.
Greetings
