what did you use, a stainless steel screw? I'm trying to think of a safe way to feed mine. Just attach that to a strand of monofilament?

Yes, a big stainless wood screw with the sharp point sanded off. Attaching some fishing line to it should work and make it easier to retrieve. Sometimes the ciclids bury the screw in the gravel, I think there are a couple lost in there, but I find them when doing gravel vacs.

They get fed every day, but get veges a couple of times a week. Algae tablets on the other days.

is there a reason why my pleco only likes to eat cucumber? I have thrown zuchini, brocoli, carrots, potato, mushroom, and lettuce and he never eats them. When I throw a cucumber in, he is on it within the minute.

Different fish seem to have different tastes. Maybe yours just like cucumber best?

i hav the same type of set up wit tiger barbs but it doesnt look ike ur plecs fins are nipped at all any tips???

Never had a problem with the tiger barbs, but the pleco is much bigger than the barbs.

what algea eaters do you recoomend << cant spell it ) for a goldfish tank i have a khuli loach its been thier for months but it doesnt do a good job what do you recomend but i dont want plecos becasue they tend to eat the slime of my goldfish and when ever i bought apleco it wouldve killed my fish so what do you recomend any experts. i do have experience i9n fish keeping
