Dougla Elsie worked as a laborer at Diamond estate and her recording captured the pain of the period - impending hard times. Kanchan did a good job in imitating a Guyanese and sang for a different audience, hence she could not capture the emotions as expressed by Dougla Elsie.
It's because she sang back songs from Nisha Benjamin who is Guyanese and was the original singer of benji darling, Dharmat Karo, Na Manu Na Manu, OManinja, Sandrowta, Romeo, and Loving Darling.

This song was sang originally by Dougla Else and possibly Katie of Grove, East Bank Demerara - Fact. Some one please get the original, I use to sing this song while growing up.!!! kate i understand now lives in Venezula. Dougla Else also sang This Time Nah Lang Time.

@das1418 When exactly did Kanchan move to Trinidad ?? I'm friends with her kids and Kanchan lived in India untill her passing. Why can't people just enjoy the music instead of fighting over stupid stuff
