  • i would be pumped if my back yard looked like that!

  • @stratospro1 haha no kidding

  • Gosh, you mean its a few kids on 4wheelers causing all this damage, and I was ready to blame CLEAR CUTTING and LANDFILLS -DOPEY ME, you crazy kids need to stop !

  • are you kidding if i had that in my back yard id say fuck those trails bring your trucks to my house and lets have a BBQ

  • are they public trails? then fuck off...

  • I think I'm gunna make a new trail up there this weekend now just cuz of this video fucking hippies go shave ur legs

  • I HATE COPS. I LOVE OREGON. I live here and camp out at Tillamook State Park often., but I do agree with the fact that people need to stay where theyre supposed to be., and not RUINING the landscape with their stupid ATVs... Do you know how long it takes, if ever, for the land to return to what it once was ? IT DOESNT ! Ever tried to camp out, enjoy nature and have to listen to those idiot riders race up and down the road ? IT SUCKS !

  • damn!!! wished i lived closer those trails look heella fun in my jeep!! hahahaha

  • stray off the trails or whip shittys or play in the mud. Fuck you! every rock in the whole area has already been turned over once and you think im destroying the environment? It's getting to the point where buying an atv is just a waste of money because you gotta deal with power trip cops and and some nay sayer.

  • So just to get things clear, as long as destroying the landscape includes making money(logging acres of land and open pit mining and blasting which totally changes the landscape) then everything is all A OK but as soon as a little trail in the fuckin woods goes off the beatin path and exposes a few tree roots then Oh My Gosh the woods are just destroyed. I cant stand it. I live in an area that has been totally changed by open pit iron ore mining and I wanna strangle people that tell me, dont

  • lol big deal the doug up the soilll o my good so much damge lol what a fucking joke

  • the news blose it out of proprtion

  • I hate the fucking "news". The US is "of the People, by the People and for the People" and the People want mud!!

  • These areas are not going to recover by themselves you dumb ass. You know nothing about land management. It will take a lot of work to restore the amount of damage these off roaders have caused. Most will argue, But I have worked with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on MANY restoration projects because of the neglect of some riders. Although your taxes pay for "us", the natural recourses only get 1 percent of the states budget. So its not like we can fix the damaged areas quickly.

  • @tillamookice

I don't see a creekbed anywhere near that trail. And yes, it will recover. It will take years, but the brush will grown in and mudholes will silt in and eventually fill up if left alone. What about the damage done by herds of elk? I've seen elk trails down the sides of banks that rival most motorcycle ruts. What about the skid trails left by skidder logging? Save your breath and pick a better cause. Biggest problem I see is garbage being dumped everywhere.

  • @141industries That is true, I was just focusing on the affects of off roading in general. Im not hating on them at all, just letting people know that it will take many years for the areas to recuperate. I do agree with you on your views as well. The garbage thing is crap and thats the biggest issue right now. Thank you for your in put

  • Need more open 4x4 areas.....there is no were to go without getn in trouble around here....it is all a bunch of crap...

  • lol I laughed when I heard the guy say 'the feel of 60,70 horsepower between your legs" but the whole video was about a 80's Yamaha 200cc ROFL

  • GEE, what did I hear/see most of time? 4X4 doing most of the damage....

  • don't listen to them, they will write you a ticket for everthing they can!

  • go drive ur fucking priuis tree hugger

  • E-Town makes for some bad ass wheeling.

  • HOLY SHIT THEY ARE RUINING MY BACKYARD. Oh yea I don't give a shit. Maybe law enforcement should focus on real crime like the people getting raped by the politicians in Salem.

  • Fucking REI buying, granola eating, Californian transplanted, SUV driving liberal ass hippies! Shut your damn mouth and stay in portland!

  • @JefafaSB California? Hilarious. Oregon is the freakin hippie mecca. California has the less fortunate honor of attracting every dumbass in the world. The suv driving liberal part was pretty good too. Libs drive hybrids. BTW, I'm movin up from Ca with my school bus and IH scout in tow. Oh yeah, with a KX500 on the bumper.

  • You know fuck that shit we all work hard everyday to pay taxes and barely skim by at times like this. all these tree hugging faggots need to shut there mouth its not like we are killing the land. sure maybe a few trees die and plants but what u call logging? we are just trying to have fun with what we can! the northwest is the largest tree supplier in united states i think we can spare a few.

  • Far worse damage is being done by natural gas companies pumping millions of gallons of dangerous chemicals into the ground. This process known as "fracking" is leaving aquifers across America destroyed. The fact that the FED turns a blind eye to this is SAD. However if you ride a quad or dirt bike that causes some damage that the forrest can regrow and fix, You are in trouble.

  • tree hugging hippies.

  • people like this idiot at the news station don't realize or care that some guys like myself can't afford a trailer and diesel truck to haul my 2000 dollar toyota wheeler/dailydriver half way across the state to wheel. half the problem is there are these trails in area's like wildcat and squaw mountain that people are happy with until the government comes and closes them down. thats when people make new trails. look at the way they log and leave shit piles to rot then tell me im destroying land

  • So we are charged a fee to use the forest? It is supposed to be one of our freedoms!

  • Leave it to the media to blow things way out of proportion and make a big deal about it.it all grows back.fuck i hate tree hugger pussy ass fagots.go back to portland and report on yuppies you cock suckers.

  • @poorboytrucking yeah . its so fucking stupid. not everyone can afford a trailer and a diesel truck to haul there 2500 dollar toyota wheeler/daily driver halfway across the state to wheel. then they bitch about the damage to the forest. look at the way they log around here leaving huge piles of shit to rot and giant skider tracks in the mud. if they would just leave the trails in area's like wildcat and squaw mountain people wouldn't have to go and make new ones. fucking portland faggots.

  • come near my property and you will have a nice little chat with the business end of my FAL

  • I would love to see huge fines and long-term community service for the people that do this.

  • lets shut them down!! maybe then they can go home and sell drugs instead!

  • these forrest service guys are a bunch of idiots.. The trails will recover as well as the trees.. The wild life does do as much if not more damage than atv's and 4x4 trucks.. I was a timber cruiser for a while and the country side will repair itself.

  • Be serious. The same people who whine about people offroading are the same ones who wouldn't bat an eye at urban sprawl.

  • this is bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we should be aloud to rde in any woods snow sand an anything else so stfu about us riders

  • Whats wrong with staying on trail? so stupid to go off trail people who go off trail mess it up for everyone as you can see.

  • @septonic1 its more that the trails in most cases are nothing more than a gravel road with no challenge also there is to many people and not enough trails go to sand lake, browns camp, elbe hills, evens creek, reader pit, (closed )...... on memorial weekend and try to find a place to park let alone drive so trails

  • It's a big shame all those people came out west on horses, making trails. The poor earth will never recover from the hoof damage. How arrogant and self important these rangers are. Everybody go home and play video games. Don't go outside. You might hurt the planet. Green freak nutjobs.

  • I wish they would do a story about all the great atv clubs out there working hard to keep these places open by getting togather for clean ups. The group I am in has more clean ups then rides in the spring to get the trails clear of brush and garbage for the riding season. Please dont think every atver is out to cause trouble there are more good ones then bad ones around the great northwest.

  • This is total garbage! Here we have the wonderful forestry service talking about how the vegetation is being destroyed & trees can't be saved. Here in FL you should see all the trees they have cut down for road blocks on existing trails that have been here for over 30 years. Absolute BS!!!

  • ive had a citation for offroading up here in washington. honestly i think its bullshit. omg theres people in trucks moving dirt fine them! that doesnt seem logical.

  • Ban hunting, Ban firearms, ban recreational shooting, Ban ATV's,Ban Dirt Bikes,Ban Outboard Motors, Ban Bowhunting, Ban Fishing, Ban everything..... Jaysus, i cant wait for this economy to completely melt down once and for all.... Then the Media will have more important stories to report....... Like dudes flying their small planes into the TV station....

  • those BOGS are good for the ELK.... never return????? This is about the most naive story I have ever seen!

  • Leave it to the media to blow things way out of proportion. The majority of riders are following the rules. Any of this damage will repair itself within a few years. The forest isn't going to die off because a few idiots can't stay on the trail.

  • @nolan83 The majority my ass!

  • The land is there for our use its that simple. If people want to cut new trails big deal. Mud bogs are mud bogs. Who else uses that land anyway? Bird watchers? I think not.

  • Making off road mud bogs destroys animal habitat and makes the land unusable for everyone else. You are an ignorant son of a bitch if you think destroying wildlife and habitat is OK. There are plenty of places that are already good for mud bogging (like recently cut clear cuts where logging equipment was parked and used).

  • Yeah ok, name one animal that a hundred foot stretch of a mud bog ruins habitat for. Also who else is this going to ruin it for? Sorry but I saw your page and video game zombies such as yourself are not even qualified to comment on issues like this, you are not even old enough to vote.

  • Have you ever been hunting in a swamp, or are you too lazy to step out of your truck and look around? Destroying any type of un designated area of the woods ruins it for people who hunt, fish, camp, and atv riders because that area is good for one thing only and nobody else except for other atv riders that destroy good trails or bogs in the first place. Doing what is depicted in this video gives all outdoors men a bad name and only locks more gates.

  • i really dont think its any ones intesion to go out and destroy the forest me being a crf250x rider and the owner of lifted jeep 4x4 i know from experice that the reason people go and make new side trail and keep using them is becuase of either to get out of some ones way coming down the trail or to avoid a area that is passed there experince level

  • oh and i almost forgot i have hit a squrrel on the trail on my cf250x... is that within 100 feet.......i am not against riding up there but before you talk... think... and that 12 year old kid above you probly knows more about then you if he rode up there and i sure know more than you do cuz ive been gonig up there sence i was in sixth grade..ass hole

  • @rsisawesome80 yah get them to make it legal and people will go there to 4x but its a even bigger ticket there i stay on the trails that have been made but once a few people have ben though some where it is a tral and if it continues to be used the tail will always be appreciated they are not talking about acres they are talking about areas smaller than some drive ways 10' wide 100' long and most are just by pass to get around stuff

  • If their was a lack of locations for them to do it in, thats one thing. I agree with you that the environment ought to be at human disposal, but dose that really means we should get to tear random bits of it up just to sling some mud? Its so easy to stick to the trails set up for them as well.

Maybe its because I am such a proud northwesterner, but I love the forrest and want to save them for myself and my grandchildren. Use the environment, but lets try and do it with some restraint.

  • That is just a naive response!

  • What's naive about it?

  • Once again they focus on the few bad apples and label the entire group as earth-rapers.

Put serious fines on those who don't stay on the trail, make them clean up their messes, and leave the rest of us alone.

Don't use this as an excuse to close more trails.

  • They did say right in the video that the majorty follow the rules and common sense.

  • @amos2500 Bad news = viewers

I pay for my 'tags' every year and even spend my free time to fix the trails

It pisses me off to see us the good people get screwed by the media because they want to make view numbers higher.

  • Mt St Helens blew up 370 square miles of land. Where is the sticker for that. 10 years later everything grew back and was no worse for wear. Complete drones and no prespective on reality. I love my state..hate 90% of the people in it.

  • Very good point. Thanks for making the eviro Nazi's in their place.

  • @addicted56 very well said

  • fuck the stickers lmfao

  • fuck helmets

  • fuck police and fuck the those worthless treehugging fucks

  • Ever seen what logging companies do to the forest? It doesn't even compare! Not to mention, when my government sells them my Public Land Trees, do I ever get dividends? 'cause I sure pay my "stickers" for my little ATV you know to do "my part" before I'm allowed to use "my public land" that is not mine until I buy me stickers. I don't ask for anyone to repair any trails neither do I need cop to be there, really you know.

  • FUgin hillarious... do not ride here or off this trail cause your "killing" the enviroment........But we are going to level 100+acres to build a strip mall an even reroute streams an natural drainage...LMFAO.... get bent

  • yea i agree with u all the way man. these trails are first caused by nature anyways. then we just use them for entertainment. Plus we pay for the land anyways. and they use it for there brand new fords.

  • people are right the shit will grow back it always does now mowing over the young trees that is kinda some bullshit but what it is , is that the sherriffs are all old bastards that have the law stick up there ass and dont know what it is to have fun anymore thats why i dont support law enforcement crooked old bastards

  • I don't think any of the commentators taking about damage and how it won't grow back know anything about nature at all. All one has to do to realize that it will always grow back is visit Mt. St. Helens. It's growing back just fine.

  • Where can a person go mudding????? I think that we need somewhere to go mudding! I understand staying o the designated route and having your vehicle properly licensed. However I feel that the forest service should open up a designated mudding spot somewhere that will not damage the trees! I wait for the day I get a ticket with a properly licensed vehicle on an open trail! There will definetaly be a legal battle! So please 4 wheel within the law!!

  • Maico was a German motorcycle manufacturer up through 1983 which earned fame for making motocross bikes. During the '70s and early '80s, you either rode a Maico, rode behind a Maico, or were a much better rider than the guy on the Maico right next to you. They started the long-travel revolution, which saw suspension grow from 4" to 12" in just four years. They were feared for having power from idle that kept going from there, as well as turning on a dime. Very desirable to vintage riders.

  • that old sherrif pulled my wife and i over on our bikes at browns camp to check for our atv permits. we had em.

  • Quads have ruined the burn.

  • this is why snowmobiling is better- rip and shred all you want but leave no lasting damage

  • well snow doesent always last that long

  • depends on where you live. I ride from late December until...well it's early June and there's still people riding in the high country (not me because it's cycling season now :p

  • i forgot about that sry. have fun

  • most people who diss cops are people who disobey they the law...never law abiders. Are you a bad apple ruining it for us legit ATV'ers?

  • when the laws are wrong and unconstitutional why should we obey them? you're ruining it for yourself by bowing down to your wannabe masters in govt. stand up for yourself and liberty. stop being a sheep. baaahhh baaah

  • I'm going to enjoy this. Riddle me this, Liberal; what is wrong and unconstitutional?

  • Um, in a forest you are going to have mud, water and other 'environmental' maintenance issues! These guys are not smoking or littering!

  • I'm guessing you just got a ticket?

  • Another reason not to get a quad.

    Ride Maico.

  • I ride out there all the time. Recognized a lot of the places in the video. That reporter was standing right next to "Marks Trail". Its very simple, "STAY ON THE MARKED TRAILS" Like they mentioned, most obey the rules, but there is always a few bad apples who can screw it up for everyone. I love riding and it sucks that a few idiots can play a major role in getting our riding areas closed for good.

  • i like the trails by me its a mic between sand and dirt but the trails arent rode much its just me and the sheirif who owns a quad and rides with me while im on my dirtbike

  • At least we got some positive words in there. Doesn't happen often on local news stations.
